Chapter 5

Varzoth was riding on his kinda stolen hopper for about a week, and he finally got to a town. He held the forge strong, now that he was a fugitive he had to be careful. When he got to the town, all he did was stop for supplies. Obviously he couldn’t go home now, especially when all of Romania was chasing after him. He kept his head low, and his bag near him at all times. He’d just pulled off the heist of the century, and now he had to face the consequences of doing so. He went into a store, with the little money he had he planned to get a bit of food, a tent, and hopefully a wand of some kind. He found all of his materials, and when he got out he put all of his new supplies onto his hopper. Now he was ready for the journey, he planned to keep it away from the Emperor and go to the west side of Romania then set up a safe or something over there. They must’ve known it was him who stole the forge by now, they must be searching for him. He hopped onto his hopper, and ran away as fast as he could. He couldn’t stay in any town for long, not anymore.

He set up camp in a sand pit, nobody would be able to see him or the hopper. Which he decided, since he’d be this only companion for the next few months maybe? Maybe years. He named the creature Shrider, because he rode fast but was super shy in doing so.

“So Shrider, we go west until we’re a fair distance away from Roma. Then we set up a dungeon camp of sorts, create a safe place for the heart. Then we dedicate our lives to keep the heart safe, what do you think?” Varzoth looked to the creature for a nod or sound, the creature looked at him and squawked. “That’s the spirit.” Varzoth said he then went to practice his spells. Trying to be prepared for any attack from the emperor. Soon Varzoth became tired, and fell asleep making sure they were safe before doing so of course.

Once Varzoth awoke, he gathered his things and left the camp he’d created hoping he didn’t leave anything behind. Once he got packed up he got back onto Shrider and headed west. When he got to the next town he found wanted posters, a lot of them. He put on a mask and hood to hide his identity, and did as he always did. He found food, and other supplies. He rode more the west, but once Shrider got tired he stopped to recharge. He set up camp, and once again practiced his spells.

Once he awoke this time he found another shadow in his camp, he shot at them immediately. He looked at them, they were a small Demon. Not much older than Varzoth.

“Get out of my camp.” Varzoth warned, “Or else.” Varzoth prepared two firebolts for the Demon, he then looked closely at the Demon. They were scared, then they held up Varzoth’s Important papers.

“You're one of them.” The Demon growled,

Varzoth looked to the floor, “Not anymore.” He said, “What do you have against them?”

“They take our resources, they take our food. Anything that’s ours goes to them, and we can’t do anything to stop it.” The Demon said,

Varzoth nodded, “It’s true, we do. I’m trying to stop them, and I’m not one of them.”

The Demon approached him, “You ran away?”

Varzoth nodded, “Yes, they are planning something. I took a prime tool for their plan.”

The Demon held out a hand, “Lilith.”

Varzoth grabbed his hand, “Varzoth.”

“If you wouldn’t mind, I would like to ride with you. I approve of what you're trying to do, and I will help you.” Said the Demon, looking closely at Lilith Varzoth noticed that she was a female. Females had never liked him before, maybe Lilith would.

Lilith asked many questions about the castle, too many.

“So what was working in the forge like?” asked Lilith,

“Well it gave me access to many materials, that’s how I was about to make the prison of the forge.” Explained Varzoth, “I needed many parts, so I used the forge for the work.”

“What about the Emperor, are they as amazing as they say he is?” Asked Lilith,

Varzoth looked down, “The Emperor is only somebody who cares about the next page of the story, the next chapter. He doesn’t care what he has, he only cares about what he can get. That's why I left, he wants to wipe out the things he doesn’t have and keep the things he does have.”

Lilith nodded, “But what about the palace?”

“As grand as they say it is.” Said Varzoth, Lilith had her own ideas of the important’s world but she didn’t understand the bad part about it. “It has its secrets though.”

Lilith nodded, “Makes sense, but what kind, other than the big one.”

“This forge can increase any kind of weapon immensely, and it causes us to lose abilities to heal. Only the important have the ability to access it. That’s why I must access it before they reclaim it and destroy the world as we know it.” Said Varzoth,

Lilith nodded, “That would be bad. So what’s this plan of yours again, because I was going to Tsami but I think that’s undone.”

“I’m going to hide it so nobody ever finds it again and uses it for evil.” Said Varzoth.

“Good idea, except you can’t stop that. If you try to hide it they’ll find you and you can’t fight off all those people at once.” Explained Lilith.

“I’ll figure it out.” Said Varzoth, “Plus, I already have an ally if I need one.”

Lilith looked at him curiously, “Why do you trust me?” She asked,

“Because from what I’ve gone through, I’ve gotten a weird ability to see the darkness in demons. I don’t see that in you.” Said Varzoth.

Lilith smiled, “Thanks, but I think it’s going to take more than that to make this world better.”

“Ya, this world is pretty messed up, I see that now. I’ll fix that, eventually.” Said Varzoth.
