Chapter 8
The New Emperor
While Lilith and Varzoth were gone, Azazel’s health had improved and he was now running more of the operations in camp. Varzoth had been learning more of his powers, and was trying to set up the guardians of the forge accordingly. He knew they’d need to be open to all people including the important’s, but it would never work to create a bridge between the two worlds. Varzoth felt something, he went into his new form.
“You know it’s not ok to sneak up on me whoever you are.” Said Varzoth.
“And me the same.” It was a voice that Varzoth had never heard, a spy? An assassin? He turned around and swiped his sword at the opponent, but his sword stopped. Inches away from a figure, not looking quite demon. Something different. “Well, nice attempt, but it will take more than that to kill me.” The person stepped out of the shadows, and revealed himself. They were strange, their legs had only one knee, and they had no horns or snaggle teeth. Whoever this was, they weren’t a Demon.
Varzoth backed down, and went into his normal form. “Who are you?” He asked.
The man smiled and looked over many papers of Varzoth’s, “I am a man not from here, I come from a place called earth.” He tapped his finger on a few of the papers, and the paper was rewritten.
“Hey!” Varzoth grabbed at the paper, “What’d you do!” Varzoth realized the paper was an equation for the forge, and the man had solved it.
“On the question,” Said the man, “I go by many names, but most people call me the Master Knight.” The man revealed himself in the light, he had perfectly white hair.
“Who are these people?” asked Varzoth.
“You know when the world opened up like it did, that wasn’t you. You know that.” Said the ‘Master Knight’ as he called himself.
Varzoth nodded, “Ya, that wasn’t me.” Varzoth looked at him, “How do you know this?”
“I am from another universe, and I believe you are the emperor of this world. Yes?” He asked.
Varzoth shook his head, “No I’m not.”
“But you know you’ll fight for it don’t you?” He asked, Varzoth nodded. “Well, I always believe in the underdogs. I run an interdimensional school for magic and combat, your people can know that it’s magic. I believe there is good in your people, not much in the others. The important’s right? I want your children to go to my school and learn to control their magic, this will help you.”
Varzoth nodded, “Ok, this is starting to make sense.”
The Master Knight smiled, “Good. Well then there is a meeting with the rulers and people of the multiverse, this is to make sure we have a bright future for it. I’ll get you when it occurs.”
Varzoth nodded again, “This sounds ok. When will the school be ready?”
The man smiled, “It already is, I’ll send a message with more information. A bus will come to pick your people up, and we’ll have them learn some magic for a semester and see how it goes. We’ll see each other before then though.”
Varozth nodded, “When will we be expecting you ba…” The man was gone, and Varzoth guessed that he had a meeting to attend.
