Chapter 3
Well, it was time to fight. The soldiers threw multiple spears at, mostly, me. I deflected them with zero effort, and charged. Lilith with her two daggers charged as well, but with a little for style you could say. She always liked daggers and whips in combat, so I made her something cool. She swung into battle and arched her daggers to hit the important’s, they swung from her hands but she held onto two rings to hold the daggers and pull them back. She sliced one’s stomach, making them whimper. Malakath grabbed the handle of his sword and swung it straight at one person, he was ten feet away, but his blade disassembled and shot a giant sword hitting a guy in the chest. Surprise, the sword can disassemble. I ran at the captain and swung a large arch at him. Unfortunately for him, he parried. His blade melted like butter to a heated knife, and my blade slapped him aside. He hit a rock, and Varzoth was pretty sure he wasn’t ever getting up anytime soon. Varzoth turned to the kid they’d saved.
“Who are you kid, and how did you get my design?” Varzoth demanded, while another soldier ran at him, eyes closed? Varzoth held out his blade and they were immediately impaled. He then screamed in agony, and fell on the ground squirming. Varzoth looked back at the kid, who looked shocked. “Just answer the question.” He said.
“I - I’m Baal.” Said the girl.
“Well Baal, what you just did has changed your life forever, believe me. Now keep this safe,” Varzoth threw her the forge, “Stay here.” Varzoth turned to see a guy running at him full speed swinging his sword. Varzoth shredded the sword in seconds, and poked the guy in the head. He went up into flames and fell to the ground, normal day. He ran at the next guy, who looked intact. Varzoth then took a step toward him and the man responded to it with another step. Varzoth shot a blast of fire, and scared the man definitely. Varzoth then swung his sword, and shredded the man's leg. The man stumbled for a second, but then a knife came and struck the man in the side.
“Show off.” Complained Lilith.
“You ruin my fun.” Varzoth smiled, and felt that feeling that he felt when he felt close to Lilith.
“Hey lovebirds, who is that?” Malakath said. That sure got Varzoth out of his trance.
“Baal,” He turned around to see the girl still paralyzed in the desert, “We have a few questions for you.”
Once they got Baal back to the village people started to crowd once they saw Varzoth in his Emperor form, but they backed up once they got further into the village. They saw that the well had been made well, and there was a line for water. Perfect. Now the only problem was the forge, Lilith gathered everyone including Azazel to meet with this Baal.
“How did you find this?” Varzoth held the forge in his hand, in his normal form now.
“The important’s recruited me, and they showed me that they had separated the forge before it was stolen.” Baal said slowly, “They told me I was to be trained as an elite protector of the forge, when I heard their plans I had to take it.”
Varzoth smiled, “It’s good there’s more important’s like me.” Varzoth waved to her, “We have to get back to the village, this news is too big to wait.”
“Wait, Varzoth!” Lilith pulled him aside and whispered to him, he blushed and hoped she didn’t notice. “What if this is a set up! What if she’s a spy!”
Varzoth looked back over to Baal, and thought back to his time as an important. They’d been very short, but he still remembered the hammer that fell on him when he heard he had to let go of his world. The forge helped him out of that, and he thought the forge helped Baal too. “Is that what you thought when we met?” Varzoth asked with a smile on his face.
Lilith was about to speak, but stopped. “That was different.”
“How?”
“Because… I don’t know, you…” Lilith mumbled.
“What you did for me was more than anything I could have asked for, and now we should continue that idea. Helping the unimportant.” Varzoth said looking into her eyes and feeling good inside, she helped him survive. Sure it was after she tried to steal from him, but that act she did to forget everything bad about important’s for a bit and help him. That’s what he wanted to do, it was all up to Lilith to decide that now.
Lilith nodded, “Let’s finish what we started, but we have to make sure she’s on our side before trusting her on missions or anything,” Lilith pointed at Varzoth, “and don’t be so convincing to me once and a while, sometimes you gotta be mean to get through this world.”
Varzoth shook his head, “Not the one we’re trying to make.” He turned around to Baal, “Well, we better head back to the village. Lilith, would you like to help me show Baal around once we arrive?” Lilith looked at him first confused, then a slight bit of anger entered her face.
“Yes, I would love to help this new perfect little demon.” The way she said perfect was a bit strange, but any time with Lilith was fun. Unless you're an important. Oh, wait.
