Chapter 6

Lilith was fighting two other soldiers when Varzoth called for her on the edge of the convoy. 

“What’s wrong?” She asked.

“This convoy is fully stocked with unimportant’s! We need to get them all out of here!” Varzoth said. This seemed to get her attention.

“We have to get them all open, get all of them out before the flames spread to the entire convoy!” She yelled. Varzoth nodded, and in his emperor form told everyone in the convoy to exit immediately and he started to see some familiar faces. People from his village! Varzoth started looking through, getting everyone out and calling for his mother, Orothar Soulrender. When he saw a small woman in the corner, who seemed to not be moving. When he got to her she jumped awake. He ushered for her to exit the convoy, and looked more, he didn’t see his mother until he looked around once more and saw his mother exiting the convoy. He ran out once he got everyone else out, he created more fire for the convoy to burn. Once he got out, the soldiers had either been killed or knocked out. All the people were safe from the flames, and he saw Baal with Lilith trying to organize everyone. Varzoth smiled, it was good they were finally working together. He jumped down and got to Lilith and Baal, when he got to them Lilith approached him.

“About a hundred unimportant’s. They all come from the west side of Romania, and they were being brought over here for mass murder!” Lilith said.

Varzoth got so angry he accidentally turned into his emperor form, “Listen everyone, we need you all to walk the distance to our village. You’ll be safe once you're there, we promise. Water and food for everyone.” They all hooray’d in approval and started following Varzoth. He, not wanting to look specifically like the importants, didn’t look for his mother straight away, but he kept his eyes out. Just in case.

They got back to the village, which once more was advancing, hearing word of farms, food and more buildings. The first thing they did was make sure everyone was ok and had enough food and water. Varzoth pulled Lilith aside just for a second, not in his emperor form, to talk to her.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, probably knowing when Varzoth was nervous.

“I think my mother is here.” He said.

Lilith’s eyes widened, “Then go find her!”

Varzoth shook his head, “Not until I know everyone is safe, I just wanted to tell you her name so you would keep an eye out. Her name is…”

Lilith kissed him on his cheek and now unable to process the situation he just stared at her, “Orothar Soulrender, I know.” She ran off into the crowds starting to organize them. Varzoth started to do the same, but now with the thought of Lilith on his mind at every second. Ya, this was a thing.

Once they got everyone’s names, and then water, food, and housing. Lilith gave him what she’d found and gave Varzoth good luck, he thanked her and tried not to bring up the last time they were alone together. Varzoth started looking for his mother, he found her name on it immediately and searched for her. Then he realized he’d have to introduce her to Lilith and Azazel and all his new friends, and especially Lilith. This was going to be rough. When he found the housing he believed his mother to be in, he started feeling the pull of the forge. He soon transformed into his Emperor form again, but he kept looking. He found the arrivals and saw someone running around, and calling Varzoth’s name. He went closer to it and saw his mother, he was coming to her when they all started bowing in front of him. Including his mom. It took all his will to exit out of his Emperor form, but when he did he told them all it was ok and they should get ready. When they finally did disperse his mom was standing in an open area, at first she was shocked.

He came up to her, noticing he’d grown. He was taller than her now, usually Demons are five feet fully grown. He was five foot two now, a bit too tall for a regular demon. Probably because of his emperor form thing, and she had actually shrunk a bit. She looked like she hadn’t slept in months, probably from her not knowing where he was. He came closer to her, and she gave him a big hug. He hugged her back and smiled.

“Where have you been!” She yelled, pinching his arm.

He jumped, “I’m the one who stole the forge, the original forge. I’m the ‘Next Emperor of Romania.’ That’s just what people think though, in reality I just have this huge form where I look exactly like the emperor.”

“Ok, that’s a lot. So, what do you do around here? It looks like everyone here has a job.” She said looking around.

“Ya they do, but the best job is the one I have. I’m a part of and leader of the Guardians of the Forge, we protect all of the secrets and creations the forge has made. Sadly that also includes the Emperor and his forces.” He shook his head, “But we stop them, we have an elite team that gets unimportant’s here. Where they were safe from any control of the emperor, it used to be a village that served the emperor as a god. He destroyed it, and we remade it better.”

His mother nodded, “Alright, so what now?” She asked.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“I mean what’s your plan? I know you and the guardians have been saving thousands of demons from the emperor, but what’s the big plan? Are you going to overthrow the emperor, because that’s what a lot of people are saying around here.” His mother said.

Varzoth sighed, “Yes, that is the overwhelming thought of our operation. We haven’t actually planned anything, but me and Lilith think it might be a necessity.” Lilith! He needed to talk to her about their next move, and fast. They wanted all these people murdered, it looks like the Emperor is lying even to his own important’s. “Speaking of Lilith I need to go talk to her, your building is building 208. Make yourself at home, there's food there and you can get water from the wells we’ve been making.” Before his mom could say anything else Varzoth transformed back into his Emperor form unknowingly and ran back to the guardians base of operations. Whatever the Emperor was planning it wasn’t any good.
