Chapter 6
The MDSC
Ethan Smith was a young thirteen year old, who had just been admitted to a school that taught combat! He couldn’t believe that he’d gotten into the school especially with his track record, he’d been kicked out of three schools in the last two years. He never found a place that really felt like he belonged, but now his parents were sending him to this school for combat. He’d always liked fighting, and like he’d said before he had a pretty bad track record. When the school approved his admission he was stunned, so were his parents. They all spent the whole day packing all of Ethans stuff for school, it was the works, notebooks, pencils. Once Ethan had gotten all of his stuff ready, his parent’s told him to head toward bus MDSC 3584.
“Write to us every day.” Ethan’s mother said.
“I will.”
“We’ll miss you.” His father said, “No messing up this time right?”
Ethan started walking away, and waved. “No promises!” He ran to the bus stop, it was a small bus stop but people were always there. He looked at the road, there was a fenced off area to his left. Road work probably, and there was a dump truck next to it. That would probably slow their arrival. He put his headphones on. He figured the bus wouldn’t be here for a while, he kept listening to his music, somebody tapped his shoulder and he looked next to him. A boy about Ethan’s age looked at him, and took off his headphones.
“Is this the right stop for the MDSC?” The boy asked, he had a British accent. Ethan looked at him for a moment, then nodded.
“Ya, the road to a school I’ll only see for a week.” Ethan said,
The boy with the British accent looked confused, and put his stuff down. Nobody was at the bus stop anymore, which felt weird. Normally there were people at this bus stop every day.
“Why only a week? The counsel wouldn’t allow that.” The boy said,
Ethan looked confused, “The counsel?”
The boy was about to answer when a bus rolled up from the left side of the road, Ethan looked to the left. The dump truck hadn’t moved, and the fenced off area hadn’t disappeared. Where did it come from? Its doors opened, and a man with earmuffs over his head opened the door.
“All aboard for the MDSC!” He yelled out, Ethan didn’t see the reason why. He got on, and walked to the back of the bus. The other boy followed.
“What’s your name? We never were formally introduced.” He said,
“I’m Ethan, and like I said you don’t need to learn my name. I’ll only be here for a week anyway.” He said,
“Oh well, I’m Albert Duncan. Pleasure.” He held out his hand, Ethan took it. “I don’t know why you’d ever want to leave a school like this!” Said Albert.
Ethan questioned the boy, “Why not?” He asked,
The boy held out his hand, and a floating light appeared in his hand. “Because it’s literally a school for magicians!” He looked at Ethan, who was wide-eyed. “Oh, you didn’t know yet did you?”
