‎"What do you think?What else will prevent me from coming home early?"I asked rhetorically.

‎It's now seven ten p.m .What are you going to do now?"She asked.

‎

‎"I don't know.I think I should go."I answered.

‎

‎"Yeah right,after all it's not a date but a launching party so l'm sure he won't be waiting for you. He would be busy accompanying his friend."Carissa explained.

‎

‎"You think so?"I asked her.

‎

‎"Chris,I know so."She starred at me deeply and assured with confidence. Jeez where did she get such assurance amd confidence from?

‎

‎"Okay,so what now?Should I go and start the car and drive to the party?"I asked making an attempt to turn back and head to the garage but she held my hand to stop me.

‎

‎"OMG Chris ,you can't go to a launching party dressed like the nerdy virgin surgeon that you are. Where is your sense of fashion?"she rebuked. Was she insulting me?

‎

‎"Thanks for the compliment Cas."I sarcastically said to her.I would have criticized her also as a too knowing chatterbox but not this time. I needed her help.

‎

‎"Oh you know it's true.she said.

‎

‎" I would give you a whole new look but first go take a shower. You stink."she criticized as she held her nose. I raised my left arm and took a smell and she was right.

‎

‎"It must have been from all the running."I explained a little embarrassed.

‎

‎"Yeah yeah right. Now quickly,we don't have all day."she said.

‎

‎"Where is grandpa?"I asked searching for him around the house.

‎

‎"He went to the convenience store to buy some fruits and other ingredients to prepare dinner since you weren't coming. He would be on his way here now. Now go and take the damn shower."she said as she pushed me towards the stairs.

‎

‎"Okay I will go now,stop pushing me before I trip and fall." I warned and climbed the stairs heading to my bedroom to take a quick shower.

‎

‎Using the best scented shampoo and soap I had,I took the quickest shower I had ever had in my life and after few minutes,I exited the bathroom and jumped in fright when I saw Cas sitting on my bed.

‎

‎"What's wrong?"She asked as she turned her head back to see if I saw something scary.

‎

‎"What are you doing here. What if I came here naked. I need my privacy you know?"I asked feeling a little offended.

‎

‎"Oh please we are best friends and we've seen each others bodies when we went for that sauna in South Korea. What is there to hide other than your little friend."she said pointing at my dick which I subconsciously covered.

‎

‎"Good job in stamping on my pride."I said.

‎

‎"Besides,I see you as my fellow girl and there is no way I'm into girls and you are into men which means you won't even feel a thing when I stand in front of you naked ."she reasoned which was true.

‎

‎"But still you would have to alert me before entering my room."I said.

‎

‎"Fine,I hear you Dr.Principles."She teased and smiled.Great another nickname. She straighten up her face when she realized I wasn't smiling at her tease.

‎*clears throat*

‎"Let's dress you up then."she cleared her throat and said, averting her gaze from mine in embarrassment.I rubbed some body lotion on my body as Cas dried my hair with the blow dryer. She applied a hair cream and combed it.

‎

‎"So rehearse with me on how you are going to start a conversation with him . You know he's not a talkative so you would definitely be the one to bring up something to talk about."she reasoned.

‎

‎"How are you?

‎

‎How was work today?

‎

‎Are you dating?

‎

‎Do you have a girlfriend or boyfriend?.

‎

‎Are...."

‎

‎"Wait hold up,is that how you are going to initiate the conversation. Really ,are you socially impaired or what? He would definitely know you want to know about his love life "she explained.

‎

‎"But that's what I intend to do.Aren't you the one who advised I should start giving him signs?"I asked a little confused. What was I doing wrong here?

‎

‎"Yes I know I said that but you don't have to do it in a blunt and obvious manner. It would feel creepy and he would feel insecure. You have to be straight forward but not that straight forward."she explained and I looked at her in the mirror with a puzzled expression. What was she even saying? I was totally perplexed at what I had heard.

‎

‎"I do not follow up with what you are saying at all. Can you elaborate further?"I begged as I looked at her in the mirror and she let out a long and loud sigh.

‎

‎"What am I really going to do about you?Listen Chris, your love situation is really complicated and you really have to be bold but not that bold and witty if you really want to get your answer tonight. If you don't,you we would continue to love him from a distance for the rest of your life. Is that what you want?"she asked in a sad tone which made me think deeply about everything that she had said. It was really true and I really didn't want that to happen.

‎

‎"Don't worry,I will do my best to get the answer today."I vowed and she nodded and smiled.

‎

‎"Now,we are done with your hair. Let's look for your outfit."she said heading to my closet.I didn't notice how she had styled my hair so nicely until now. My bangs really stood out this time.

‎

‎"Wow,you never seize too amaze me with your skills. I'm really impressed with my hairstyle.I love it. Such a hairstylist you are.Aren't you?"I praised her.

‎

‎"Of course I am,you being my best friend for five years should know I'm a talented and amazing woman."she bragged and I rolled my eyes. Just one compliment on all this flattering.

‎

‎"A thank you would have been nice."I said to her.

‎

‎"For what?"she asked looking confused. Was she pretending to be oblivious or she really was naive?

‎

‎"For complimenting you on your hairdressing skills."I answered.

‎

‎"Oh Chris,that wasn't a compliment,you stated a fact, a fact."she said in arrogance and I nodded not ready to argue with her since if I did,we won't be ending now.

‎

‎"Now come and show me the outfits you would take to a party."she said.

‎

‎I stood up from the chair and walked to my closet. I opened it and took about six outfits which she declined all of them without batting an eye.

‎

‎"Oh Chris,you don't have any party outfit since you don't go out.Hope you've learnt your lesson for always declining me anytime I invited you for a party. Now you realize we are in a pickle now. Excuse me and lemme check if there is something in this place that would be a little befitting for the party."I gave her way as she checked for herself the outfits in my closet. She soon brought out a white suit. I had only wore it once and that was when Mr. Hills had his birthday and had organized a party in a fancy hotel.

‎

‎I bought it that day in order to fit in since I  knew important figures were going to be present there since Mr.Hills was a big person himself. I didn't want to receive disdain from anyone.

‎

‎"Hmm,this one would do even though it's too formal.Wear it quickly."she ordered as gave it to me and I took it quietly and put it on.

‎

‎"There, you look so handsome now. "She declared as I had finished wearing my shoe. I checked myself in the mirror and was satisfied with the person in the mirror.Cas sprayed some perfume on me and nodded in satisfaction.

‎

‎"We are set to go."she said and we both headed downstairs.

‎

‎No sooner had we gotten to the living room than grandpa entered with two plastic bags in his hand.

‎

‎"Oh my goodness,you look so handsome ."he said as he came to caress my cheeks.

‎

‎"Thanks grandpa."I said with a smile.

‎

‎"Chris hurry and leave,it's now seven forty p.m."She exclaimed and I subconsciously looked at my watch. Shoot. I quickly took my keys on the center table and was about to rush for the door when Cas stopped me.

‎

‎"Chris wait. Remember the plan and be yourself. You've got this. And even if things don't go the way we planned ,know I'm always here for you."she said as she came and hugged me. I was really emotional. I was really lucky to have her as my best friend.

‎

‎"What would I do without you Cas?"I exclaimed.

‎

‎"I know right,now go get your man."she said.

‎

‎"Yeah go get him. It has been five years now."grandpa said and I smiled.This people were my family and I was so content with them.

‎

‎"Goodbye and I will do my best to get him."I said as I opened the door and closed it.I entered the garage,started my car and headed to the address Leonard  had sent me. I was just praying and hoping I wasn't too late. I drove very fast and overtook a lot of drivers. I could hear them cursing at me but I wasn't bothered at all. I only had one thing in my mind and that was Leonard.

‎

‎With the help of my Google GPS,I finally got to the  place and realized there was a party going on. I parked my car at the parking lot and entered the huge building.

‎

‎I entered and soon cursed at what I saw.The whole place was crowded. How was I going to find him now?I decided to call him when I felt a a tap on my shoulder.I turned and saw it him. My heart instantly started racing.

‎

‎"You finally came."he said and I nodded in embarrassment and guilt.

‎

‎"I had a surgery that's why.Sorry if I had to make you wait that long."I apologized

‎

‎"No need to understand,I'm also a surgeon.Now follow me,this place is crowded."he said and I nodded as I followed behind him to wherever he was taking me. I began to feel the pressure but calmed down and remembered Cas's words. I needed to be bold and witty. I had to get my answer tonight.
