Rudra stood silently in the hospital room, watching over the child, Jay. His eyes softened for a moment—relief and gratitude flickering across his face.
Flashback…
That night, just before the kidnapping, Nari and Suhaan had been sitting together on the sofa.
“I love you, Suhaan,” Nari whispered, her voice tender.
“I love you too,” Suhaan replied casually. “Now, get some sleep.”
Moments later, his gaze slid toward the glass of water on the table. A faint, crooked smile touched his lips—he had already laced it with sleeping pills.
“She’ll be asleep for hours now,” he muttered under his breath.
And just as he planned, Nari soon drifted into deep sleep on the sofa. Suhaan straightened his back, his expression darkening.
“Plenty of time… to take care of the child. In my own way.”
He walked quietly into Jay’s room. The boy lay peacefully, unaware of the malice standing at his bedside. Suhaan’s eyes softened briefly, but then twisted with hatred.
“My Jay… so handsome,” he whispered bitterly. “Because of you, I had to fake everything. But not anymore.”
With a sudden snap, he injected something into the glucose bottle connected to Jay’s veins.
“You were never my child. Not my blood. I pretended long enough… but I can’t let you live, not with my truth hidden inside you. Sleep now—sleep forever.”
He turned toward the door, his face smug and overconfident. “Sweet dreams, my boy. Forever.”
As he shut the door, Jay stirred faintly. His lips trembled.
“Dad… is that you?” he murmured weakly, before slipping back into unconsciousness.
The door closed with a dull thud.
Seconds later, Rudra appeared in the room—his eyes glowing a fierce, burning red. His heart thundered.
“The child is in danger. He definitely poisoned it. I need to cut off the glucose supply… now.”
Flashback ends.
Back in the hospital, Rudra looked at Jay, his voice low with relief.
“Thank God… you’re safe.”
