‎She wondered how she wasn't able to see through his actions and get fooled. She wondered why the thought of it being too good to be true so there was something amiss didn't come into her head. Sge now understood why they said love was blind.  Why did he choose her of all people?Did he know she had feelings for him that's why he approached her or was it because he knew she wasn't matured in these things. Mak thought.

‎Her train of thoughts finally came to a halt when her door was opened and someone entered. It was her best friend,Lucy who had an angry expression on her face.

‎

‎"Why did you leave without alerting me?What kind of best friend does that?"she shouted at Mak. She was very worried when she couldn't find Makayla when she and August came back to the ballroom after making out in a classroom. She had searched for her best friend everywhere but couldn't find her. She would have called her but her phone had died. She thought something bad had happened to her best friend until she saw Justin who told her Mak had gone home. She was relieved but angry that Mak left without her. At least she could have informed her before going. Now she was here ready to scold and vent all the worry and anger she had back at school on her.

‎Makayla just stared at her best friend and just like that,burst into tears.Lucy was dumbfounded at her best friend's reaction. She didn't expect her to behave this way just because she shouted at her as she had did so to her many times and she hadn't react this way so why this time? Did something happen?Lucy thought suspiciously.

‎

‎"Hey,why are you crying,I didn't mean to yell at you ,I'm so sorry."Lucy said in a soft tone and apologized as she climbed the bed to comfort her friend. She was now very worried and confused because she had never seen Mak like this before. The only time she saw Mak at a state like this was when she had come second place in a spelling contest and even that one, she just sobbed.Lucy was now convinced it wasn't because of yelling that made her best friend like this. Something must have happened and she ought to know what.

‎"Shush, don't cry. I won't yell at you again.This is my last. Stop crying or I would cry too."Lucy said as she rubbed Makayla's back with her hand to console her.

‎

‎"No...it's...not..you."Mak said through her tears.She had tried hard to stop crying but once she saw her best friend,she couldn't hold  her tears any longer and decided to let them flow freely.

‎

‎Lucy wondered what then was the reason why her  best friend was like this. She suspected if it had to do with her parents but her parents even asked her if something happened at the prom night. This could only mean it had happened at school and after brainstorming,she narrowed it down to Justin. It had to be related to him.She was sure of it.

‎

‎"Then why are you crying ? Is it Justin?

‎Did he do something to you?"she asked Makayla.

‎

‎Mak,hearing that name,cried even more and Lucy had finally gotten her answer.

‎

‎So her best friend was like this because of a boy? She was so angry now. That Justin,what  did he do to her best friend to make her feel this way?She thought.

‎

‎"What happened between you two?Was he still upset about the prom king issue or did you guys fight?"Lucy asked Makayla who was still shedding tears.

‎

‎"I saw him kiss Bianca ". Makayla told her best friend who was flabbergasted and dumbfounded.

‎

‎"What,how come? They had already broken up.when did you see them?"Lucy asked.

‎

‎"When you told me to go and console him since he didn't win prom king."Mak answered .  No wonder she saw them together when she was entering Mr.Brown's car.Lucy realized what it all meant now. They were back together again.

‎

‎ Lucy was now furious and her face burned with rage. No one hurt her best friend like this and went scot free. She would surely teach him and Bianca a lesson. Lucy made that mental note amd continued to comfort her best friend who seemed to have calmed down a little.

‎

‎It wasn't that she had calmed down but she had cried so much that,there weren't tears anymore and her head started to ache her. Plus, her eyes had swelled making it painful to cry more.She was now exhausted and just wanted to rest.

‎

‎"I'm so sorry that I left you alone. I called you but you phone was off."Mak explained.

‎

‎"That's my fault.The battery had died. No need to apologize."Lucy said to her best friend.

‎

‎"So where were the two of you. I searched the whole ballroom for you guys but couldn't find you."Makayla said.Lucy cheeks blushed when she remembered what she  and August had done.

‎

‎"We were making out in a classroom."she narrated to Mak.

‎

‎"Eww,that's gross.You don't have to tell me that."Makayla exclaimed with a frown on her face.

‎

‎"But you asked for the details."Lucy said.

‎

‎"You could have told me you did something private."Mak suggested.

‎

‎"You know how I say my things bluntly."Lucy said and laughed.

‎

‎"Yeah right."Mak said finally smiling.Lucy silently heaved a sigh of relief when she finally saw her best friend smile after all that crying.A silence then followed then Mak sighed.

‎

‎"What is it?"Lucy asked.

‎

‎"I don't think I'm ever going to fall in love again."Mak said.

‎

‎"Hey,don't say that.Justin is a jerk who didn't deserve you . You would surely find your prince charming."She said and Mak smiled sadly.

‎

‎"I don't even believe that thing anymore. I don't think I can trust someone again. Do you think August is your prince charming?"Mak asked her friend who was taken aback by that question.

‎

‎"I don't think he is. You believe in that and now that you don't,join the club girl."she stated and they both laughed.

‎

‎Makayla yawned and gave way for Lucy to sleep by her.They tucked themselves under the covers as they faced each other.

‎

‎"Good night Lucy,and thank you for being here for me."Mak said with gratitude in her eyes .She wasn't sure if she would have been able to calm down on her own.

‎

‎"What are best friends for but crying shoulders."Lucy said.

‎

‎"Good night Mak. Sweet dreams."Lucy said.

‎

‎Yeah that's what she was worried about now. Whether she was going to get good dreams or nightmares. Thinking of that,the two girls closed their eyes and sleep took them away as today had been a very long day.
