“Go and serve this to table 7 and come back to get a delivery in Block 7 near the subway.”

“Ok sir!”

‘PHEW’ I threw away my apron and took the bike keys. “Sir! Is the order ready?”

“Yes! It’s the same place in Block 7. And here is another order. I’ll forward you the address in your phone.”

“Fine! I’ll leave now.”

“Don’t mess up the orders!”

“Ok sir”

This was the regular chaos in the cafe I worked for nearly 3 months now.

OH! Sorry let me introduce myself. I’m Joe Huston, an arts and music graduate. I live alone while my family stays in the outskirts of the city.

It’s 6 years since I left my hometown. I vowed that I’ll visit my family after I get into my dream company OSWALD. It’s a multinational company and I’ve heard that the employees get triple incentives every 6 months...WOW..!!!

But REALITY hits hard! Here I’m now... working as a part timer in this cafe for meeting my living expenses. TSK! But I’m determined to somehow get into OSWALD! OSWALD!! OSWA....

TOING! TOING! A message popped up on my screen. Two days later there will be a reunion of my schoolmates. I got an invitation too.

SIGH! I wonder what they’ll think of me seeing my situation. TSK! Should I skip it? But I also want to meet them. It’s been years we’ve met like this...but....

“Joe! Serve the Americano to table 7.” My poker-faced boss ordered me.

“Yes Sir!” I grabbed the drink and did as commanded.

“Danny! Danny! Where the hell did this fellow disappear? Joe! Did you see him?”

“Sir, maybe...”

My boss is already in his late 40’s yet complains and vex like an old aged grandpa for every single thing. He started his business 7 years back alone. But I must say he’s genuinely hardworking and diligent person I’ve ever met.

“Coming Sir!” A voice echoed from the back door.

“Where were you dickhead?”

“Just came back delivering an order sir.”

“Fine! Come with me. I need your help.”

Danny calmly followed him.

By the way, this guy, Danny Sims is my childhood buddy. We’ve been living together in Tokyo to fulfill our dreams. Danny too wishes to join OSWALD.

Meanwhile we both completed our part time work for today and I was getting ready to leave.

“Hey Joe! Did you get the invitation for the reunion party?” Danny came in asking me the question.

“What? Did you not get any message? See again.” Danny insisted grabbing my arm.

“Sigh! I got. But I want to skip it.” I spoke pouting my lips.

“But why?” He looked at me with his bulging eyes.

“I don’t know... I’m still struggling and ...” I bowed my head in disappointment.

“Hey! It’s just few months before we get our call letters from OSWALD. I’m sure we’ll make it through.” Danny encouraged me.

“Are you sure?” I tried to look at his eyes through his spectacles.

“Obviously bro! We’ll surely be hired.”

I grabbed Danny’s hand and we both shouted in chorus, “We’ll surely get hired in OSWALD.”

Both of us giggled at ourselves and left for home.
