Sunny's Garden:
What's up, friends! Sunny here, writing from San Muerte, Mexico. How'd I get here? The usual, my parents.
Around Halloween this year, my boyfriend (who we'll call 'O') dumped me. I may have mailed him a box of mice to spook him, but he was fine and the mice all died. :-( I guess that was my fault. Well, he was set to go on a vacation with me and my parents said I could take whoever I wanted. I decided to take my new friend, E! I have a feeling he thinks I'm cute, and I could use a bodyguard. :-) He's like, sort of a guy, sort of a girl? So he's tough but sensitive. Perfect for me, I'm tired of stupid boys and catty girls.
E brought his mom R, and she brought her girlfriend, L. My parents were a little weirded out. I'm not sure they're comfortable with 'same-sex couples'. Lucky for me, they're not really sure what sex E is. Neither am I, to be honest. I think he might be intersex, because sometimes his voice sounds as feminine as mine. At a glance, though, you can't really tell because he doesn't wear makeup. But he said he's always wondered about it.
These initials aren't helping, are they? But I can't tell you who I am, or I'll risk someone from my school finding my blog and knowing it's me. So here's a legend with some substitute names:
Me: Sunny (Sunflower)
E: Tulip
R: Daylily
L: Grassy
O: Feedbag
Anyway, so mom and dad are paying for most of their trip, since the cost is pretty much nothing to them. It's all-expenses-paid, so we can eat as much as we want, whenever we want! But breakfast ends at ten.
We arrived in the middle of the night, at La Limona Resort. I watched their old sign, with a painted lady in a lemon-leaf bikini and skirt, get replaced with a modern silhouette and a yellow bikini outline. It looked like something off a mud-flap. That's basically what's happening to the whole resort: a cheap face-lift. The lobby was still a fine piece of architecture, marble and limestone carved into walls and pillars. That's where we ran into Tulip's uncle (Helleborus), his wife (Cornflower), and their son (Scabiosa). Apparently, we booked different suites in different buildings at the same resort... which is a little too close for me, but what can I do about it? Whatever, as long as I don't have to hang out with them.
