Echoes from the underworld

Before the hate began- between the two demon lords

Before the hate began- between the two demon lords

Aug 26, 2025

Prologue
Draegon had received an invitation from his best friend, Kaze Zion, who had asked him to visit his demon realm for dinner. Of course, he couldn't resist the offer—a night spent with his friend was exactly what Draegon needed. Just a few days earlier, Draegon had taken over the role of ruler of the underworld. He wasn't sure how Kaze would react when he told him about his new position, but he knew he had to share it with his friend.

The mist lay like a thin white blanket over the landscape when Draegon arrived at Kaze Zion's realm. It was a place as mystical and majestic as it was intimidating. The muted light from the towering spires and the flames in the torches created a dreamlike atmosphere.

The garden was both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. The black trees, tall and gnarled, stretched their twisted branches toward the dark night sky. The leaves were dark purple, glowing as they reflected the cold, pale light from the misty moon above. The path through the garden was lined with blood-red roses, the sweet fragrance nearly putting Draegon to sleep as it hit him.

In the center of the garden stood a mirror-like pond with black water. Shadows moved across the surface. From the pond sometimes rose a hazy, red and black mist that swept over the ground, distorting reality and making it difficult to distinguish between dreams and the waking world.
In the distance, a faint whispering sound could be heard, as though nature itself had a life of its own—visions of lost souls. Along the edges of the garden stood statues of demonic creatures.

It was a garden for demons, a place of recovery for the strong, yet a trap for those who were too weak. A place where beauty was twisted, and dark dreams flowed through every flower, every stone, every gust of wind.

Draegon stepped into Kaze Zion's palace, where the walls were adorned with intricate paintings depicting wars, victories, and lost souls. It was clear that Kaze Zion valued his history and traditions, but also that he had a terrifying understanding of power—just like Draegon.

Kaze Zion sat at a table in an impressive dining hall, where a long dark oak table was laid out with a variety of dishes, including black grapes, raspberries, and smoked meats. In Kaze's lap sat a small fox demon, his long blue hair falling in waves, framing his angelic face.

On the floor sat another small fox demon, with the most beautiful eyes Draegon had ever seen. His left eye was red, glowing like fire, while the right was ice blue, like a mirror of still lakes. "Welcome, Draegon," said Kaze with a light voice. "I've missed you."

Kaze slowly rose from his chair, his gaze serious but also full of warmth as he looked at his son. He gently set the little fox demon down on the floor, and with a loving gesture, he bent down and kissed his son's forehead. His fingers gently stroked the little fox's head.
"Azazel, take Yume out into the garden for a while, I need to talk to Draegon," said Kaze, his voice both gentle and determined.

The little fox demon looked up at his father, his red eyes sparkling with innocent expectation. Without a word, he ran to his older brother, who was still sitting on the floor with a serious, almost distant expression. Azazel looked at him with a playful smile and reached out his small hands.
"Yumyum, come! We're going to play in the garden!" the little blue-haired fox eagerly called, gently pulling Yume up from the floor. His grip was soft but firm, as if he never wanted to let go of his older brother's hand.
Yume looked at his little brother with a soft smile. He let Azazel pull him up without resistance, and together they began walking toward the large door that led out to the garden.

_____________________________________________________________
While the little fox demons play in the garden. Draegon and Kaze lie closely entwined in the large bed. The fox demon gently touched Draegon's body with his hand, knowing that it was wrong for him to love Draegon, but he couldn't help it. His friend was, in some way, beautiful, with his pale white skin. The black veins running like cracks in a broken statue marked his devastation as a condemning force.

Kaze thought he was both frightening and beautiful at the same time. The large, twisted black horns, and the long black tail— but it was probably his red eyes that Kaze liked most about him. They burned like flames, representing his soul

Draegon moaned when the fox demon lightly touched his body with his fingers, they feel like feathers. Kaze looked at Draegon, he noticed a reaction of both desire and hesitation. He knew the demon liked him, maybe even loved him, but he was afraid of the complications. But right now the fox demon didn't care, he just wanted Draegon. Everything else didn't matter at that moment, it was just him and Draegon.

He felt the soft touch of Kaze, his skin responding to every caress. Part of him knew he should pull away, keep his distance, but the other part didn't want to let go. Kaze was like a secret he didn't want to reveal to anyone else, a feeling he didn't quite understand but couldn't ignore. Kaze was a beautiful fox demon. His appearance reflected both danger and beauty.

His elegant, fluffy tail and fox ears, adorned with silver rings. His most striking feature was his golden eyes. They glittered with a predatory gleam, making anyone who met his gaze uneasy. Those eyes seemed to look deep into the soul, seeing through facades and revealing one's most hidden desires or fears.

What made Kaze intriguing to Draegon wasn't just his beauty, but also his control over dreams and nightmares, which made him a feared demon. He was capable of manipulating both mortals and other demons. He had the ability to create illusions of both beauty and terror. Kaze was nearly as powerful as his friend.

Kaze leaned in closer, his breath warm against Draegon's neck. "You know you don't have to hold back, Draegon," he whispered, his voice low.

"I know what you want, and I know you can't resist." A sly smile danced on the fox demon's lips as his hands lightly touched Draegon's back. The fingers on his skin felt like light feathers, yet filled with such desire.
Draegon closed his eyes for a moment, forcing himself to stay calm. He had never been one to act impulsively, but the fox demon was different. "Kaze," his voice was hoarse, weak. "This isn't right. We're just friends..."
"Friends, yes..." Kaze replied, his voice heavy with something darker. "Why don't we admit we're a little more than that, Draegon? We can't hide the truth forever."

Draegon felt his heart race, a part of him wanted to give in to the fox demon, to the intense feelings that were so tempting. He hesitated, Kaze drawing closer to him, a danger he could not avoid. The fox demon's hands were like a blazing fire against his body as they touched him.

Kaze knew exactly what he was doing. He also knew that Draegon was afraid to let go of control, to surrender himself fully to him. But Kaze was here to challenge him, to tear down the walls of fire that Draegon had built around his heart.

"You're beautiful, Draegon," Kaze whispered, his lips close to Draegon's ear. "Beautiful and dangerous, all at once, I like that about you" Kaze let his hands continue their path across Draegon's skin, his movements gentle. Kaze wanted more, but he knew he needed to take it slow, not wanting to scare away the demon he had dreamed of for so long.

Draegon breathed quickly, feeling his body respond to Kaze. Despite the hesitation he felt, he could no longer deny it—he was drawn to the fox demon's beauty, his power. It was dangerous, but for once, it didn't feel like a lost battle.

"This isn't right," Draegon whispered, his voice barely audible. He didn't want this, he wanted to pull away, but his body told a different story. He was caught in a struggle between desire and fear.
Kaze smiled and looked at his friend with a playful twinkle in his eyes. "I never said it was right Draegon, but I know you want this as much as I do."

Draegon was silent for a moment, his thoughts lost in desire and fear. He closed his eyes and felt the fox demon's lips, so close to his neck. Draegon wanted this, he wanted to feel Kaze's closeness, his warmth. But he was also afraid that it would change everything, forever.

He opened his eyes and noticed that the fox demon was looking at him, both affection and danger in his gaze, as if he understood what Draegon was feeling. He felt warmth spread through his body, and it was impossible to resist any longer. Draegon just wanted to be close to the fox demon. He pulled Kaze close and kissed his lips. He was about to lose himself, but at that moment, it didn't matter. It was just him and Kaze.

Draegon lay silently next to Kaze, his fingers nervously playing with the fox demon's soft, silver-white hair. The heartbeat in his chest was heavy, as if it wanted to reveal a feeling he couldn't quite understand. They had shared more than just an impulsive moment; there was something more, something that scared him. His gaze was fixed on Kaze, but he couldn't quite meet his eyes.

"Do you regret what we just did?" Draegon's voice was low and shaky, his words filled with hesitation. "Don't you have a wife? What does this mean for us?"

Kaze smiled at him, a calm, almost reassuring smile. It was so typical of him, always so sure of his decisions, his feelings. The fox demon leaned forward and gently stroked Draegon's cheek, making his heart race. "I don't regret it," he said, his voice soft and determined, "I care about you, Draegon. Besides, we're not married yet. She doesn't need to know what happened between us." The fox demon smiled.

Draegon didn't know what he felt for Kaze, but there was something more than just friendship between them, that much he knew. Draegon took the fox demon's hand, looking at him uncertainly. "But what if she finds out, Kaze?" His words were barely a whisper, filled with doubt. This night would change everything between them.

Kaze pulled Draegon closer. "Don't worry, she won't find out. None of it matters as long as we know what we feel for each other," the fox demon whispered, drawing Draegon nearer and kissing his cheek.

Draegon closed his eyes, his breath growing heavier, and his heart filled with both worry and something else—something he couldn't quite define. Was it love he felt for his friend? No, it couldn't be. He had chaos and destruction within him, so no, he couldn't love. Especially not now, after what he had become.

He felt Kaze lying close to him, his warmth against Draegon's body. His heart, filled with guilt, twisted at the thought of what he truly was. Draegon didn't want to tell Kaze that he had taken on the title of ruler of the underworld. Not now. Kaze would never understand.

Being a ruler came with more than just power—it was an eternal burden. A burden that Draegon knew would change everything between them if he told him. He knew the fox demon would never accept it. He would lose him, lose their friendship forever.
So Draegon stayed silent. His gaze fixed on the ceiling. What should he do? Should he keep this secret forever? The fox demon would find out sooner or later.

Kaze moved, his hand finding Draegon's and holding it lightly. "You're quiet," he said, his voice low and curious. "What are you thinking about?"

Draegon swallowed hard. "Nothing," he lied, but his voice was strained. He could see in Kaze's eyes that he knew Draegon was lying to him, but he also knew that Kaze was patient when it came to him. Kaze wouldn't press him, at least not in that way. Not yet.

"One day, I'll tell Kaze that I've claimed the title of ruler of the underworld, but not today," Draegon thought, feeling both doubt and fear. It was a secret he knew would change everything. If he revealed it, he would lose Kaze—both as a friend and as something more. His friend would become jealous and hate him. The title of ruler of the underworld came with loneliness, and Draegon knew that he wouldn't be able to love anyone if he wanted to remain true to his title.

Even if Draegon lost Kaze the day he told him that he was the leader of the underworld. His feelings for him would never disappear. They had been friends since they were children, and Draegon would never be able to let go, no matter how hard he tried. Kaze Zion was more than just a friend to him, but it was something Draegon would never admit to anyone—not even to himself.

As he lay there in the dark, with the fox demon's hand in his, Draegon couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in Kaze's presence. It was a comfort that was both beautiful and devastating at the same time.

He knew it was too late to back out now—there was no way out of this, no way to escape the intense feeling that had grown stronger than he ever thought possible. Despite the fear of losing everything, he couldn't let go of Kaze. Not yet.

Kasu Lucian's life is defined by loss, betrayal, and an unyielding thirst for power. Raised by his emotionally distant father, Draegon Lucian, Kasu was taught that love was a weakness and power must be earned through strength alone. This harsh ideology was enforced when Draegon killed Kasu's wife, Senora Lucian, to sever his emotional ties and weaken him.

Yume Zion is a Fox Demon and protector of Kasu Lucian, whom he has loved unconditionally since childhood, though his feelings remain unrequited. His loyalty to Kasu leads to emotional turmoil, especially as he navigates a passionate yet complicated affair with Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust.

Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust and Manipulation, is shaped by a history of obsessive and controlling relationships. He cannot separate love from domination, using affection as a means of power. His most recent obsession is Yume Zion, a powerful fox demon. What began as a manipulative game to seduce Yume quickly evolved into a deep, infatuated bond.
