Echoes from the underworld

Its no way back

Its no way back

Aug 27, 2025

Yume and Asmodeus lay entwined on Yume’s bed, the soft, dim glow from the gently crackling fire near the window casting shifting shadows across the room. Yume could feel the warmth of Asmodeus' body against his own, his heart beating faster, but there was something in the air something undefined that kept him from fully relaxing. He knew he had done something that might cause chaos and pain.

“I’m sorry,” Yume said quietly, his voice soft and full of regret. He avoided Asmodeus’ gaze, instead staring at his own hands, now resting on Asmodeus’ chest.

Asmodeus, lying beside him, turned his head slightly to catch Yume’s eyes. His gaze was calm, but intense. “Sorry for what?” His voice was low and captivating, as always, but there was something comforting in it, too.

Yume hesitated before answering, his words nearly a whisper. “For letting you hold Draziel… I should’ve known Kasu would be angry…”

“It’s alright,” Asmodeus replied gently. His hand stroked Yume’s arm, his fingers caressing the skin in a way that made Yume shiver, yet it also soothed him, as if Asmodeus was trying to offer some kind of quiet reassurance through his touch. “Nothing happened. You don’t need to worry. Kasu will always be overprotective when it comes to Draziel.”

Yume looked up at him, a flicker of relief washing over him. For a moment, it felt like he didn’t have to carry the weight on his shoulders. A faint smile played on his lips, and without really thinking about it, he leaned forward and kissed one of the pentagram tattoos etched into Asmodeus’ chest.

“What’s this tattoo?” Yume asked, his voice low and curious, pulling back slightly to get a better look at the symbol engraved into Asmodeus’ skin.

Asmodeus smiled mysteriously at him. He placed a hand gently on the back of Yume’s neck, stroking the skin before answering. “A pentagram for forbidden knowledge and dark magic,” he said, his voice laced with mystique, like it was a secret only he truly understood. “It symbolizes one of the most powerful and dangerous magical bonds in existence. Something you don’t touch unless you’re prepared to pay the price.”

A chill ran down Yume’s spine at his words, yet he also felt a strange sense of fascination. He knew Asmodeus was a demon of lust and manipulation, but hearing him speak of this kind of forbidden magic stirred something deeper inside a curiosity, a thirst for more.

Asmodeus looked at him with a gaze both soft and challenging. “You know, Yume,” he said with a smile, “sometimes it’s the forbidden knowledge that tempts us the most.”

Yume touched the pentagram again, tracing its lines slowly with his fingers, the dark energy etched into the skin humming faintly beneath his touch. His eyes remained fixed on Asmodeus, filled with fascination.

“Interesting... why is that?” Yume’s voice was quiet, nearly a whisper, as if unsure whether he really wanted to know the answer. His hand lingered on the symbol, afraid to pull away his entire body poised on the edge of surrendering his self-control.

Asmodeus’ eyes darkened as Yume touched the pentagram again, his fingers ghosting over the symbol carved into his flesh. His smile was playful, but a glint of danger sparkled in his eyes. He leaned in, the tension between them electric.

“It’s simple,” Asmodeus began, his voice low, a whisper of secrets. “Forbidden knowledge isn’t just powerful, it’s dangerous. And it’s that danger that makes it so tempting. We seek what we shouldn’t have, because we know it might give us something greater than we ever dreamed of.”

He caressed Yume’s arm, his touch like the brush of a dream. “It’s that feeling of touching the unknown, of stepping beyond the limits of what’s allowed. That’s why demons like me crave true power. We chase the forbidden.”

Yume felt a wave of fascination rise in him as he stared at Asmodeus. Even though he knew Asmodeus was a demon of lust and manipulation, he sensed there was something more, something deeper that he couldn’t quite grasp, but which drew him in more than he wanted to admit. His fingers followed the lines of the pentagram, the magic radiating from it making his head spin.

“So... you think we should pursue the forbidden?” Yume whispered. His heart pounded in his chest, unsure whether it was from fear or fascination. Maybe both.

Asmodeus’ eyes gleamed with delight and something more devilish. “We don’t seek it because we want it,” he said, his voice almost hypnotic. “We seek it to know if we can have it. And once we do we’re never the same again.”

“I... understand,” Yume whispered, though he wasn’t sure what he truly understood. But his gaze locked with Asmodeus again, and there was a spark of something dangerous in his eyes.

He felt Asmodeus pull him closer, like a magnet too strong to resist. His heartbeat raced as he breathed in Asmodeus’ warmth the scent of vanilla, hints of cinnamon and incense overwhelming him. Yume let his lips meet Asmodeus’, and it felt like a current of electricity surged through his body.

Yume’s fingers slid through Asmodeus’ dark hair, and as he kissed him, the world seemed to fall away. Nothing else existed but this moment. His eyes closed, his mind surrendering to the heat, the sensation, the closeness.

Yume knew Asmodeus was manipulating him, that he might not be who he claimed to be. Still Yume couldn’t stop. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t feel alone, didn’t feel forgotten. For the first time, he felt... loved.

It was seductive in a way he knew he could never fully resist. Rules were broken, and nothing felt certain, as Asmodeus wielded dark magic and desire. And yet, Yume felt safe with him. His fingers slid through Asmodeus’ hair once more, and for a moment, Yume was sure there was nowhere else he’d rather be. Nothing else he’d rather do.

But deep inside where reason still lingered he knew this was a path paved with consequences. Still, he remained there, wrapped in Asmodeus’ arms, lost in a world that was both beautiful and broken a place where desire, power, and dark magic blurred all lines.

It was both alluring and terrifying. But for Yume, it was also a cry for something he had longed for something perhaps dangerous, yet something he couldn’t bring himself to let go of.  Maybe... he was falling deeply in love with Asmodeus.
................................

Asmodeus was still lying beside Yume when he woke up in the morning. Yume's gaze fixed on Asmodeus’ face, while his fingers lightly traced the dark pentagram tattoos that adorned  so much. It was as if every line held a secret, a story he still didn’t fully understand but one that fascinated him.

Yume leaned in gently and kissed Asmodeus on the lips. It was a soft kiss, as if he were trying to hold on to the moment, to cling to the feeling of being there together without thinking about what might come next. But the moment their lips met, he felt that electric tension between them, impossible to ignore.

Asmodeus slowly opened his eyes, and there it was again that calm yet intense gaze. A playful smile tugged at his lips. “Good morning,” he said, his voice soft but deep, like a whisper laced with mystery.

Yume smiled back. “Good morning,” he replied, then hesitated, his voice tinged with uncertainty. “Would you come with me and Kasu today... when we speak to his father?”

Asmodeus sat up in bed, his golden, hypnotic eyes fixed on Yume. He was quiet for a moment. “I don’t know,” he said, his voice low, as if considering something carefully. “I don’t think Kasu would appreciate my presence.”

Yume reached out and gently touched Asmodeus’ arm, as if searching for something in his touch a reassurance he felt he needed. “Maybe not,” he admitted. “But I want you there. Draegon scares me... but I feel safe with you. Even if you might be manipulating me.”

It wasn’t just the manipulation that frightened him. It was the uncertainty, the confusion that always came with Asmodeus’ presence. And yet, despite everything, despite all the warnings, Yume felt more alive when Asmodeus was near like all the lines he knew were blurring. It was hard to explain, but Yume felt safe with him.

Asmodeus looked at Yume, and there was something measured in his gaze, as though he were weighing Yume’s words. Then he leaned in, his eyes dark and playful all at once. “Does it bother you, that I manipulate you, Yume?” he asked quietly, his voice laced with both amusement and something far deeper and more dangerous. “I’ll come with you if you want me to, darling.”

Yume froze, his heart pounding as the word “darling” echoed in his ears. A nervous warmth spread through his body, and his breath quickened. Asmodeus had a way of making the world stop around him—with a look, a word. Yume took a shaky breath, the word he’d just heard both familiar and terrifying.

He tried to gather his thoughts, but everything felt like it was slipping away, like Asmodeus’ presence unmoored him from the ground. “darling…” Yume echoed softly, but he didn’t know how he was supposed to feel about the word.

He met Asmodeus’ gaze again, those eyes shimmering with a dark, playful glow. “Does it bother me?” he repeated quietly, trying to keep his voice steady. His heart was a storm of emotions—uncertainty, fear, desire. “I don’t know… it feels like I should be careful with what you say and what you make me feel.”

Asmodeus smiled, and it was the kind of smile that could make someone forget everything else. He leaned closer and whispered: “That’s exactly what makes it so tempting, Yume. When you don’t know whether to surrender… or resist.”

Yume felt his entire body react to the words—electric, confused, pulled apart by his own emotions. He knew there were risks, that he probably shouldn’t trust Asmodeus. His manipulation was both a gift and a curse. Yet despite the chaos, part of Yume didn’t want to pull away. Part of him wanted to stay—wanted Asmodeus to hold him in that uncertain, seductive world of desire.

“I know I shouldn’t…” Yume whispered, his voice fragile, as if he didn’t want to admit his own weakness. “But I still want to be close to you.”

Asmodeus’ eyes gleamed with pleasure and something dangerous. “And that’s where we’re alike, Yume,” he said quietly. “It’s in that space we truly understand each other.”

He looked at Yume with a gaze both mesmerizing and dangerous, his lips curling into a smile that was soft but driven by something much darker. His words were a whisper, but they clung to Yume’s skin like a silent promise. “I know you shouldn’t, Yume. But that’s the thing, isn’t it? We’re drawn to each other through our weaknesses. Because we can’t resist.”

Yume felt his heart hammering in his chest. Each word Asmodeus spoke was both beautiful and terrifying. His breath was shallow. He knew what Asmodeus was a seductive, dangerous presence with the power to twist everything around him. And yet, despite the uncertainty, he wanted to be there with him.

“I…” Yume began, but he didn’t know what he meant to say anymore. The words felt too small, too weak against the force that existed between them. “I want to be near you… even if I don’t know what that means.”

Asmodeus leaned closer, his eyes gleaming with a pleasure that was deep and perilous. “I know, my beloved,” he replied softly. “And you have no idea how much power you give me when you say that.”

Yume felt himself lost in Asmodeus’ intense gaze. Part of him wanted to pull away, to re-establish distance and control. But another part more vulnerable longed to give in, to surrender to that uncertain world of desire, of power, of weakness.

He knew he should be careful. He shouldn’t give in to Asmodeus’ manipulation he could sense there would be a price. But there was a part of him, the part drawn to the shadows, that only wanted to feel alive in a way he never had before.

“What happens if we stop resisting?” Yume asked softly, his voice trembling with both fear and longing.

Asmodeus’ smile widened, and for a moment, his gaze drifted deep into Yume, as if he already knew the answer. “That’s exactly where we find each other, Yume. In the place where we no longer have to resist. Where we lose ourselves—but also find each other in the fall.”

Yume moved closer to Asmodeus not because he wanted to, but because it had become impossible to resist. Asmodeus leaned in and kissed the fox demon’s lips, and it was then Yume realized he could never go back. Whether he wanted to or not, he belonged to Asmodeus  the Demon of Lust, Manipulation, and Forbidden Knowledge.

Kasu Lucian's life is defined by loss, betrayal, and an unyielding thirst for power. Raised by his emotionally distant father, Draegon Lucian, Kasu was taught that love was a weakness and power must be earned through strength alone. This harsh ideology was enforced when Draegon killed Kasu's wife, Senora Lucian, to sever his emotional ties and weaken him.

Yume Zion is a Fox Demon and protector of Kasu Lucian, whom he has loved unconditionally since childhood, though his feelings remain unrequited. His loyalty to Kasu leads to emotional turmoil, especially as he navigates a passionate yet complicated affair with Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust.

Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust and Manipulation, is shaped by a history of obsessive and controlling relationships. He cannot separate love from domination, using affection as a means of power. His most recent obsession is Yume Zion, a powerful fox demon. What began as a manipulative game to seduce Yume quickly evolved into a deep, infatuated bond.
