They we're right, it was a village. As expected, there was barely anyone around. At this point, Andrea had to clutch on to her beanie before it flies away with the wind. Now the two runaways had to seek for shelter before the real snowstorms about to begin.
Andrea stepped, and knocked on one of the houses.
"Excuse me! Is anybody home!"
No reply. Perhaps because of the loud wind, her voice wasn't able to reach the owner of the house. Andrea shouted once more, this time louder.
"EXCUSE ME! IS ANYBODY HOME-"
The door creaked open. Startling the two runaways.
Peeking out, it was an older lady. She was tiny, and the bags under her eyes looked so heavy that you'd think her eyeball might jump out. In the noisy wind, she mumbled something under her breath.
"Sorry? What was that?"
She still spoke inaudible words.
Andrea and Kerr glanced at eachother, then back at the elderly lady.
"We still couldn't quite hear you-"
"THEY'RE COMING AFTER ME-!!!" She screeched, as they both jumped, Andrea covering her ears.
"S-sorry?"
"THEY'RE COMING AFTER ME-!!!" She repeated. Spits flew out her mouth, luckily the two were far enough to avoid it. The elderly lady's hands were clutching tight on the door she peeked out from. Eyes balling at something only she could see.
Staring at the agitated lady, hesitant, Kerr decides to ask the obvious question,
"Who's coming after you?"
The lady glared sharply at him, as if he just asked the most forbidden question she has ever heard.
"They took Leon, for his sin... And oh! Innocent Charlie!" She started to tear, face burried in her hands. "They will take me next... For sure next..." She starts to mumble incoherent sounds once again, gnawing on her fingers.
Kerr And Andrea was in disbelief. Asking was hopeless, there's result in seeking shelter to a crazy woman. For all they know, if she did let them in, they might just be hanging like roasted pig under the fire as sacrifice for her 'protection'.
"Ok... Have a good day grams..."
Andrea slowly took a step back, the elderly lady barely noticed her, too deep into her own thoughts.
"Let's go before she snaps back into reality." Andrea whispered as she ran aside Kerr.
The wind picked up so much that they had to brace themselves to stay standing. The snow hitting their face was starting to sting and exposed skin felt numb. Andrea took Kerr's lighter from his pocket and lit it up close to her red face, protecting the fire with her hand, even if there was barely heat due to the humid temperature, Andrea kept it anyway.
"...shit" Only now Kerr realised how serious the situation might get if this continues on.
"Y-you think the elderly woman from before would mind if we just sat on her porch? Or will she kill us before the storm does?"
Andrea grinned to the joke, which immediately went through Kerr's head, receiving a cold glare. Andrea whispered 'stoic much' under her breath.
Suddenly, while they were struggling to even walk, a distorted voice in the distance could be heard. You could make out a lamp swinging in the distant fog. As they both squint to get a better look at it, an audible noise could finally be heard.
"H-ey!" They shouted, the voice sounds like it could belong to a little boy.
Seeking out for the truth about his mothers death, Kerr stumbles upon an odd village in the middle of the forest. But noticing the locals anxious behavior, he finds out that the cause of it was something lurking in the woods. Suspecting it had something to do with his mother, he was determined to find out the truth--but what will he do when the truth he was chasing after isn't what he expected?
