From an outsider's perspective, the scene of Grey half-laying down his head near Lucien's body, their hands interlocking, and the sunrising made the atmosphere quite comforting.
When Grey finally opened his eyes, he didn't wake up to see Lucien staring at him. But instead his eyes were still shut, just the same as last night.
A nurse came in the room and was suprised to see Grey, but she snapped out of it and checked Lucien's vital signs.
While she was checking, Grey asked her about Lucien's condition.
"Um, sir. He's currently in a state of comatose." She replied.
Grey's breath stopped. Comatose? No. This can't be...
He shifted his eyes to look at Lucien. He had a peaceful look on his face that betrayed the current state he was in.
He bit his lip. No. Whatever happens, I'll be there for you.
The nurse, sensing the tense atmostphere, surreptitiously walked out of the room and shut the door gently.
Being a busy CEO, Grey naturally had work that day. But, like it was something that was non-negotiable, work always seemed to come last place when it came to Lucien.
In order to take care of him, Grey used up his one month vacation leave and had someone substitute him for the time being.
Once he informed the higher-ups of his leave, he saw that the curtains in the room were half open and tied them up.
This instantly let the blazing sun come in, and made the room appear more warm.
Although the earlier news of Lucien's comatose didn't completely step off his mind, a breath of fresh air and a change of surroundings distracted him from the sorrow for just a little while.
He glanced at Lucien with a sorrowful look, before gently picking up his hand and kissing the back of it. He left for the door and headed to the reception area.
Arriving at the designated place, Grey asked the receptionist whether Lucien's parents had come to see their son the night it happened, but the receptionist didn't recall anyone coming in to check on him that night.
Feeling like something was wrong, the receptionist asked him.
"...Sir, i thought you were his guardian?"
Grey raised an eyebrow. But found that his question just now was a little contradicting, so he changed up the story.
"Yeah-- That's right. What i meant to say was, who brought him in that night? I mean, what happened exactly?"
The receptionist dropped her suspicion upon carefully taking in the man properly, and had an epiphany. That the hunky beast of a man from her dreams last night is actually the person standing in front of her right now!
She flushed with shame.
"Oh- uh! Well, i don't really know the whole story, but apparently the patient got beat up by local thieves in the night because the apartment he was living in was a poorly surveillanced area."
Grey's face started to grow dark with every word that came from the lady's mouth. His eyebrows furrowed, and a sharp killing intent appeared in his eyes.
He grinned with the exact same look on his face and said,
"Thanks."
The lady flinched after seeing his terrifying expression. She tried to look busy by typing randomly on her keyboard just to avoid his gaze.
Grey buried his hands in his pockets and walked back slowly to Lucien's room. Inside, a sinister plan was already starting to brew in his mind.
That night, he didn't stay in Lucien's room to accompany him, but instead planted a bodyguard to protect him incase of an unforeseen intruder.
In the cold, lifeless dread of the night, Grey smoked for the first time in five years. The smoke permeated in the air as he stood outside Lucien's apartment for what felt like decades.
Until he could feel the slight trembling coming from his pocket, he picked up his ringing phone and put out his cigarette.
One of his bodyguards conveyed that the gangsters were now confined in the warehouse.
Grey told him "OK." And drove his way to the nearby warehouse.
"GRRR. LET GO OF ME!"
The shout of the big man echoed within the warehouse's walls.
"Shut up pig."
Grey kicked the thief in the stomach.
The big man came flying and hit a nearby pole with his back.
Grey approached him and crouched down to his level, puffing the cigarette smoke infront of his face.
The man coughed violently, his saliva spreading everywhere....
Grey calmly pressed the cigarette butt to the man's forehead, making him yell out in pain.
Grey scrunched his brows and said in a sharp voice,
"I told you to be quiet!"
Grey slapped him before grabbing him by the hair.
"You and your friend can go fuck off now.... In hell."
The big man looked at him fiercely.
Grey snickered. Then dropped his grip on the man's hair like he was a piece of trash.
He whispered something to his bodyguards.
The two thieves were taken by the bodyguards and tied up to two poles, effectively stretching their bodies like the letter (X) against the warehouse shutter.
Grey unhurriedly turned the car key in the key hole. Before stepping on the accelerator, he made a thumbs up gesture to his bodyguards and they immediately opened the warehouse shutters.
The large man's lackey finally understood. He begged nonstop for Grey to spare him, and that it was all his boss' fault.
The fat man also quickly followed, he retorted to his lackey's accusation, and they had a full blown blaming battle.
Grey thought, that even at death's door, they still acted so foolishly. Like a pair of headless chickens.
But he didn't care anymore, and directly slammed the accelerator.
The car came at them like it was the grim reaper, there was nothing they could do at that point.
The two people's lives came to an abrupt end as their limbs came flying. Blood splattered everywhere, organs splitting into bits... and Grey simply pressed the windshield wiper.
The bodyguards swiftly cleaned up the crime scene. Grey stepped out of the vehicle and got on his private driver's car, he closed his eyes and pondered about Lucien's reaction to his timely revenge.
He slowly opened his eyes and a pleasant smile suddenly arose from his lips.
Not good. It's too traumatizing for a kid.
This brutal execution was to show those with evil intentions who they could, and couldn't touch.
The footage of the killing was spread purposely by Grey's bodyguards to the the two gangsters wechat group, and upon seeing this, multiple people left the chat.
Grey's face, was of course blurred and mosaiced before they sent it to the group chat.
That was a night to remember for the gangster group. As the group numbers went from 300+ to a measly 10 in the span of a night. Majority of the people quit and ran away after seeing that video. All they knew was to never, ever, touch someone named "Lucien."
