Echo and Willow, now tending to their duties of delivering their father's medicine to the people of the village, wandered past a large board in the village center. Many people were crowded around this board, muttering and whispering about the content.
“What does it mean?” One person queried.
“How odd. Does the Oracle usually give out such cryptic prophecies?” Asked another.
Willow and Echo slunk through the sea of people to get a closer look. Covering the board were many papers, all with the same message. Willow looked around at the people and noticed that most were glaring. “Echo, we should take our leave now.” Willow said, taking the shoulder of her older brother.
Echo nodded to his sister. Taking one of the many papers, he and her ran off to the edge of the village. They crossed the stone bridge, now black and shiny with melted slush, over the newly melted river, and into the forest to their home.
