Episode 15

INSIDE - The Ship

They all stare at Fenneco and Ryy.

BENNIE : “Fenneco! Why do you keep bringing back strange men??”

Bennie points towards Ryy exasperatedly. Fenneco stares at Earl, so does Ryy.

RYY : “Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt.”

 Earl looks at himself and immediately gets up, pretending nothing happened.

EARL : (A bit flustered) “You—you weren't interrupting anything.”

Ryy slightly smiles, heading over to Earl. 

RYY : (Subtle happiness) “So you're a fellow human, right? I'm Ryy.”

Earl raises an eyebrow.

EARL : (a lil confuddled on his wording) “Uhm, yeah?”

DAN creeps towards Fenneco, moving his mouth to cover his mouth and whispers to Fenneco, while pointing at Ryy.

DAN : (Whispering) “Why’d you bring another human..?”

FENNECO : “He escaped. And..” 

Her gaze drifts over to Earl, she looks down.

FENNECO: “..anyways. What were you all doing?”

DAN : “You didn’t quite finish—” (Gets cut off by Bennie)

Bennie pops up to Fenneco and excitedly shows her the cards and hourglass.

BENNIE : (Excited) “Act it! Wanna play?”

Bennie lights up, holding the items up to Fennecos face. Fenneco pauses, but nods. She looks towards Earl, then Ryy.

FENNECO : “Ryy, would you like to join?”

Earl pauses and looks at Fenneco and then at Ryy.

RYY : (a lil surprised) “Really? I would like that.”

Earl feels a little jealous. And he crosses his arms, while Bennie happily beams at Ryy. Dan shrugs and grins.

DAN : “Well—the more the merrier!”

Fenneco walks over to the floor and sits down, the others follow. Ryy sits next to Fenneco, Earl furrows his brow a little and he quickly goes over to the other side of Fenneco, beating Dan there. Bennie hands the instructions to Fenneco.

BENNIE : “Here are the instructions!”

Fenneco nods and takes them, sharing the paper with Ryy so they can both read. Earl stares intently in the background. They read it over and Fenneco nods.

FENNECO : “Alright, I understand.”

RYY : “I do too..!”

BENNIE : “And now that you guys joined, we can form teams!”

EARL : “With..five? So two and three?”

BENNIE : “Yep!”

Earl immediately grabs Fennecos hand.

EARL : “I’ll team up with Fenneco then.”

Fenneco looks at her hand that’s being held for a moment, Earl looks down with her and spots his hand, a little embarrassed, he lets go. She looks back up at him, nodding.

FENNECO : “Alright, Ryy should join us too.”

RYY : (subtle, genuine happiness) “Yay..!”

Earl smiles and a little piece of him shatters. Bennie looks at Dan and Dan looks back at him.

DAN : “Let’s beat the heck outta them.”

BENNIE : “Agreed!”

Another fight screen, this time between the two teams. Bennie steps up first. They both pick up a card, read it, and Fenneco flips the mini hourglass. Bennie gets flamingo, and he immediately gets nervous, he looks back up at his teammate, Dan, and at the encyclopedia in Dan's hand. Bennie sighs, and he nods to Fenneco, she flips the hour glass and Bennie puts one leg up, arms shaped like wings and he bops his head forward and back. Dan squints at him, clearly very confused.

DAN : “Bird?”

Bennie is very stressed, and he thinks for a moment, he tries to form an f with his body.

DAN : “F? UHm!”

Dan quickly flips through his encyclopedia and goes to the f section, 

DAN : “Finch? Ferret?”

EARL : “That’s not a bird,”

Bennie does increase stressed bird wing flapping.

DAN : “AGH, uh, Flamin—”

Fenneco cuts him off.

FENNECO : “Time is up.”

BENNIE : (Sighs)

DAN : “Awh, what?? Sorry Bennie! I’ll be quicker!”

Bennie smiles, pushing up his glasses.

BENNIE : (confident) “It’s alright, I’ll win us back points on my turn to guess.”

Its the other teams turn, and Earl is about to go up, but then flashbacks of him being a worm pop up, so he retreats and Ryy volunteers instead.

RYY : (calmly) “I’ll go!”

Ryy stands up and takes a card, reading it, and nodding his head to Fenneco, fenneco flips the hourglass. Ryy got surfing. Ryy does a surfing stance, putting his arms out infront of him and behind. Fenneco has no idea what he’s doing. 

EARL : “Skateboarding! Surfing!”

Ryy gives a thumbs up, and moves on. He picks up another card and he gets baking cookies. Ryy grabs an imaginary tray, and he puts it in something, waiting, then taking it out, eating an imaginary cookie from the tray.

EARL : “Baking! Cupcakes? Cookies?”

Ryy pauses and nods vigorously towards cookies, and he goes back to putting the tray in the oven, doing the motion over and over.

EARL : “Baking cookies?”

Ryy nods his head happily, and picks up another card—but then is cut off by Fenneco.

FENNECO : “Time is up.”

RYY : “Darn, well, Good job Earl.” 

Ryy gives a soft smile to Earl, and Earl feels proud.

EARL : “Thanks, you too!”

Ryy offers a fist bump and Earl takes it, Fenneco stares at them and she feels a little jealous.

FENNECO : “..Let’s change games. We don’t know too much about Earth.”

EARL : (a bit caught off guard) “Ah, I guess you’re right.”

DAN : “Phew! I wasn’t gonna say anything, but I am pret-ty bad at that game!”

EARL : “Yeah, we can tell—”

Dan makes a fuss about Earl, Ryy and Bennie laugh at the scene, Fenneco simply watches, the cam zooms out and they all slowly fade.
