Episode 16

INSIDE - The Ship

They’re all laying down on the floor, clearly wiped out, board games and card games all around them. Fenneco has a “Sandwich King” (reference to burger king) paper crown on her head. 

DAN : “Fenneco..”

FENNECO : “Yes?”

DAN : “How did you win literally everything?”

At the memory being revisited, Bennie smacks his face, covering his head and rolling over side to side, frustrated.

BENNIE : (frustrated) “That’s so annoying!!! I trained so hard too!!!”

RYY : “Haha, Better luck next time I guess.”

BENNIE : (Sighs) “I guess I’ll just train harder..but instead, I wanna do something else! We’re all tired, right?”

EARL : “I know I am.”

Bennie sits up and talks to them all.

BENNIE : “Then let’s do that human thing we were talking about! In Dan's dino joke!”

Earl sits up also.

EARL : “You mean..a sleepover?”

DAN : “Oh yeah! ..But that sounded kinda boring—”

Bennie elbows him, and Dan shuts up.

BENNIE : “Please?”

RYY : (shrugging) “Sure, why not?”

FENNECO : “I..do not know what a ‘sleepover’ is.”

EARL : “Well—basically, it’s just friends hanging out and sleeping in the house together.”

FENNECO : “Oh, well, that sounds simple enough.”

Transition to all of them laying down together with blankets everywhere, Bennie with his limited edition one.

DAN : “Yep, like I said, boring.”

BENNIE : “Earl, are sleepovers usually like this?”

EARL : “Well, they’re more fun after doing something really energetic—actually when I think of it..there isn’t a lot of sleeping in a sleepover.” 

BENNIE : “I see! .. but..what else can we do? We’ve exhausted all my game boards..and cards.”

Dan looks in his encyclopedia and he flips through the pages.

DAN : “What’s..Car..aaoo..key?”

EARL : “Karaoke? Uh, you look at the lyrics and sing a song.”

BENNIE : “Oh! Oh! I know what that is!!”

Bennie hurries over to his corner of the room, going behind the cover and typing something vigorously, before carrying out a white robot–looking box and laying it down on the floor, he grabs a long wire and he connects it to the box and to the computer in his corner. Bennie hurries to his computer, typing and the lights dim, he hurries back to the orb and presses a button on the box, turning it on. Then, there’s a projection on the wall. A cut to the other just sitting on the floor, watching him hurry back and forth. Bennie then stands proudly in front of them, presenting the projection. 

BENNIE : (Very excited) “Ta-da! I tried to make something similar to the screens you humans had on Earth! Isn’t it awesome???”

EARL : “Oh, cool, so you can use Hutube?” 

BENNIE : “Yes, Actually! But, there was just so much on there..and I haven’t had the chance to look at it all..”

EARL : “Yeah, it’ll take you years to even cover an inch—on Hutube, you can just search up a song name and write karaoke after, it’ll show up.”

BENNIE : “alrighty!”

There's a little chibi scene of the character crowded around the monitor Bennie has in the corner of the room, and Earl explaining ‘how to’ karaoke. In the back there should be bubble letters saying “Processing..” Then after that, we zoom in on the projection, the music begins, and letters appear on the screen, Bennie’s head pops up and he starts singing to the best of his ability.

BENNIE : “Put lyrics here”

Then, a fade to Dan, trying to sing a song. 

DAN : “Put lyrics here”

Dan is still singing in the back, and Earl nudges Fenneco.

EARL : “You gonna go next?”

FENNECO : (a bit apprehensive) “I am not sure about that. I have never sung.”

BENNIE : (Listening in) “Well, me neither! You can totally try anyway!”

EARL : (smirking a little) “What he said.”

Bennie leans back to Ryy.

BENNIE : “What about you, Ryy?”

RYY : “Haha,” (calmly smiles at Bennie) “No.”

Bennie pouts a little

BENNIE : “Oh alright..”

EARL : (Looking towards Fenneco) “So?”

FENNECO : (thinks then replies) “Well, perhaps I will..if you go first.” (She’s being a bit playful, but still stoic)

EARL : (Raises an eyebrow and smiles, a little caught off guard but playful) “Sure, but unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with a voice as beautiful as my face..” 

Dan finishes and everyone claps for him, Earl stands up and chooses a song, singing it.

He finishes and he lowers the mic, looking at the others as they clap, he looks at Fenneco and it’s almost as if no one’s in the room. The background is blurred and he sees Fenneco slightly smile, he stares like he did back in ep.0, but Bennie snaps him out of it as Bennie softly pushes Fenneco to stand up and take the ‘mic’ from Earl. Bennie sits back down and as Fenneco takes the mic from Earl, she says in a soft voice.

FENNECO : (softly) “Good job singing.”

EARL : “Ah, thanks.”

Earl sits back down in a bit of a daze. And when Fenneco stands there, she has no idea what to do.

FENNECO : “I..do not know any songs”

Bennie pops up, 

BENNIE : “That’s not true! I show you songs all the time! Here, I’ll put one on for you..”

Bennie goes over and puts a song on for her, She freezes and she nervously begins, a little stiffly at first, before getting a little more comfortable.

FENNECO : “Among the stars...I could find where you are-your dashing face. I could find it, even if you didn't leave a trace. Oh, how you whisk me away. How I feel like I'm floating in space. Oh I am orbiting up above, by your love...and it turns out, my sun is you.”
