Rogi has been in Dotori Village for only five hours.
She ran out in anger without a plan, only to find herself standing at a dead end.
Sure enough, Rogi knows nothing about the geography of this neighborhood.
With both hands under her chin, she looks as if fear is pressing down on her.
She glances left and right, then runs again in whatever direction her heart tells her.
Now she can’t even remember the way back.
She keeps walking and walking down an empty alley,
but wherever she is... everything just feels frightening.
She suppresses the urge to cry out loud again and again.
As her nervousness and fear grow, even her breathing becomes unstable.
Tears well up in her big eyes, and her face turns red.
It’s a wonder she’s holding back, looking as if she’ll burst into tears at any moment.
Rogi calls out for her dad.
But, as expected, her dad’s voice doesn’t come.
She can’t hold on anymore. She collapses in the shady alley.
Just as she is about to burst into tears,
a small white dog approaches Rogi.
Her agitated emotions instantly calm down.
The dog, whose identity is unknown, nudges its head under Rogi’s hand,
wagging its tail as if to say, “Pet me.”
Rogi feels comfort as she pets the dog.
Peace has found its way into her uncontrollable emotions.
Rogi: Doggy... Where is this? I’m lost.
...What should I do...
At that moment, the dog perks up its ears, looks around, and
starts running down a certain path.
Without realizing it, Rogi calls out and follows behind.
Rogi: Wait for me! Go with me!
Before long, the dog passes through a dark blue gate and enters a house.
Inside, a white-haired Grandma was looking for her dog.
The Grandma, who spotted the frightened Rogi following behind,
called out to her in a gentle voice.
Grandma: My, my, who is this? I don’t recognize your face.
How did you end up here?
Rogi: We just moved in today... and I got lost.
[Just as tears were about to spill before she could finish speaking...]
Grandma: Sweetie, wait just a moment.
Sensing Rogi’s fragile heart, the Grandma
offered her a cool drink and spoke warmly.
Grandma: Oh ho ho~ I heard a family was moving in today! Oh, I see!
Rogi: Yes...
Grandma: That’s why I haven’t seen anyone around! Yes, yes.
Now then, follow this Grandma.
Rogi: What about the doggy?
Grandma: Oh~ Let’s let him finish his meal.
Following the Grandma,
Rogi started to see the blue truck they had taken here
and the house where they were going to live.
Having safely arrived home with the Grandma,
Rogi wanted to thank her, but
the Grandma was already happily chatting
with the neighbors.
Rogi bowed her waist to the Grandma,
then ran inside the house, calling for her dad.
Rogi: Dad!
Her dad’s voice answered.
Dad: Oh~ Rogi, you’re here? Welcome.
Shall we take a look at the house we’ll be living in?
Dad and Rogi walked around and looked at the new house.
The moving boxes were already unpacked, and the house was clean.
Dad was about to finish the rest of the work and prepare dinner.
Dad: Rogi, go wash up and come out for dinner. And...
Dad handed her a machine with a small screen and a bundle of papers.
Rogi: Dad, what’s this?
Dad: A boy named Dabi came by, said he was your friend,
and left this. He asked me to give it to you.
Rogi: Ah, the red-haired one?
Dad: Yep~
Rogi washed up and had her first dinner in the new house with her dad.
She brushed her teeth and went into her room, muttering.
Rogi: Ah, I’m so tired...
It had been a really tough day for the young girl.
Her emotions were complicated, tangled together,
hard to put into words.
Then suddenly, the bundle of papers and the electronic device Dabi had left caught her eye.
On the front of the paper bundle, a few words were scrawled in messy handwriting:
“I’m sorry. Sorry for laughing. I was wrong. Please forgive me :)
I’ll leave you the story summary and Bermuda.”
“Bermuda” looked like an old tablet.
It felt clumsy and outdated,
as if someone had repaired a broken one.
He had even thoughtfully included the charger.
Rogi: I’ve never seen such a considerate guy!
Lying on her bed, Rogi skimmed through the story summary,
getting a general idea of the contents.
Then she glanced at the Bermuda lying beside her, found the switch, and pressed it.
After a typical computer loading screen,
a chat window opened automatically.
At the top, it said “Dotori Village Bermuda”
and the administrator was listed as “Elly.”
Since no one had started a conversation yet,
Rogi wondered if maybe she had just eaten dinner a little too early.
