“Hey, hey, hey, wake up, buddy. You’re just a soul right now, don’t get carried away.”
Blue poured a basin of cold water over Red’s head.
“If we don’t find a solution quickly, in a few years, when the other Blue gets married and has children, I’ll be watching it live!”
The thought sent a shiver down Blue’s spine.
“The worst part is, I share a mind with her…”
Red: “…”
Blue suddenly patted Red’s shoulder and comforted him:
“But you don’t have to worry. I observe this young man named Ash; he has an extraordinary bone structure, a true man of steel. He probably won’t find a girlfriend even in 20 years.”
“Just like you.”
She added.
Red: “…”
Sure enough, women are truly troublesome…
After some discussion, they reached a unanimous conclusion.
Possession was out of the question. Ash and Blue were like their counterparts from another world; they couldn’t possibly kill themselves. Their options were: either find researchers from Team Rocket who specialize in biochemical experiments and have them help create a body—after all, they could even create a nearly invincible Pokémon like Mewtwo, so the dark technology to transfer a soul into a new body might also be achievable. If human technological power couldn’t accomplish it, then they could only appeal to the gods. There were many legendary Pokémon in this world with miraculous powers, so there must be some that could help them.
The two had reached a second united front on this matter. The first, of course, was to team up and beat up Gary and Green.
“Since we’ve finished discussing, I should help this girl catch a Clefairy. She’s been fasting for seven days and gotten nothing; I’m afraid she’ll really go mad.”
Blue stretched, then pulled Red to a bush next to the high platform. The two carefully concealed themselves.
“In that world, I also caught a Clefairy on Mt. Moon. Generally, on Monday nights, the Clefairy groups place a Moon Stone on that high platform as an offering, performing a mysterious ritual. They weren’t wrong about that.”
Hearing this, Red frowned. They had already waited for seven or eight hours. Could it be that Clefairy only appeared late at night?
“Idiot, I said it’s a mysterious ritual. They definitely won’t come out if humans are around. The Clefairys are probably getting impatient.”
Sure enough, as soon as the two lay low for a moment, a dark shadow suddenly emerged from a crack in a rock wall. It was an adorable Clefairy, cautiously looking around. The humans from earlier must have left, right?
After a while, it lowered its guard and happily called into the crack, seemingly summoning its companions. Before long, Clefairys emerged from the crack in a line, dozens of them by rough count. Among them, several strong pink demons were carrying a meteorite nearly a meter wide. This seemed to be what they used for their ritual.
Blue suddenly asked with a grin:
“Hey, what if we suddenly ran out and scared them? When the Clefairys go back, would they beat up that scout Clefairy?”
Red: “…”
You’re more demonic than the pink demons…
On the fenced platform, the Clefairys lifted the meteorite, then called out around the platform before moving one by one, hopping, like some kind of ceremony.
“How are you going to catch one?” Red couldn’t help but ask. With this whole family of Clefairys, the best way would be to just throw a rock. You could probably knock one out with your eyes closed.
“I have my methods…”
Blue smiled triumphantly, pulled a Poké Ball from her waist, and with a flash of red light, a chubby pink demon appeared in front of them, though its size was considerably larger than a Clefairy’s.
“Beep, beep. Clefable, the Clefairy Pokémon. It is Haunter’s favorite food.”
Red’s Pokédex automatically announced.
The two: “…”
Hearing this, Blue frowned. This broken Pokédex was worse than a brick. What nonsense was this? And did the Pokédex need to be set to vibrate during missions?
“Go, Clefable, help me abduct a Clefairy.” She whispered instructions:
“Also, grab two Moon Stones on the way.”
“Clefable~”
Clefable nodded, then hopped towards the Clefairy group. Its sudden appearance startled the Clefairys, but they quickly realized it was their elder and invited it to join the ritual.
Step one of abduction: integrate.
Clefable showed a harmless smile and adorably began playing with the Clefairys…
...
Red suddenly spoke: “This Clefable of yours wouldn’t happen to be…”
“Yes, brought over from that world.”
Blue nodded, a hint of seriousness appearing for the first time in her playful expression.
“Luckily, they came with me, otherwise I might have ended up as unmotivated as you.”
Red was silent. He was also grateful that his Pokémon from that world hadn’t been erased. Compared to crossing over, he preferred to believe this was the greatest gift heaven had given him.
“But is this girl really missing a screw? I put Clefable’s Poké Ball on her waist, and she still hasn’t noticed it.”
Blue vigorously smacked her own head.
Hearing this, Red fell silent. His Pikachu’s Poké Ball was also on Ash’s waist, and it hadn’t been discovered yet. Perhaps this was simply innocence.
...
On the other side, Clefable and the Clefairys completed their dance ritual. Now was the time to distribute Moon Stones to the Clefairys of sufficient level, allowing them to evolve. As for where the Clefable that had evolved before went? That would naturally be hiding in Mt. Moon, making Clefairys…
“Clefable~”
At this moment, Clefable, who had already blended into the group, suddenly cried out, probably meaning that the outside world was vast, and which brave soul would be willing to conquer the world with it.
Step two of abduction: reason with them.
“Clefairy…”
The Clefairy group shook their heads. Clearly, they preferred to play happily in this carefree place. However, Clefable did notice one adorable Clefairy showing a look of hesitation.
“Clefable~” “Clefairy~”
That Clefairy was in a dilemma. And the surrounding Clefairys, seeing that this foreign Clefable actually wanted to take away one of their kin, instantly changed their adorable expressions and began to scold Clefable. Some strong Clefairys even jumped to the meteorite and broke off several fragments. The next second, the light of evolution enveloped these few. Suddenly, several more Clefable appeared, their sizes in no way inferior to Clefable’s, and it looked like a fight was about to break out.
“Clefable!”
Blue’s Clefable instantly changed its expression. Having been with such a master for so long, did they really think it was still that innocent, adorable creature?! It suddenly raised its palm, and a pink light orb quickly condensed in its palm. As power was infused, the light orb suddenly shot into the sky, transforming into terrifying Fairy-type energy that exploded in the sky.
Moonblast!!
The Fairy-type special attack plastered the faces of the native Clefairys and Clefables. Was this the power they could use?
Clefable clapped its hands contentedly, its expression as if saying one thing.
“Yokels of Kanto? Never seen Moonblast before, have you?”
Step three of abduction: the muscles must be hard!
And that Clefairy, upon seeing this pink light, immediately made up its mind and decided to follow Clefable. It had lived here for several years and had never seen a Clefable that could use such a move.
The other Clefairys could only watch enviously as that Clefairy followed Clefable away. The latter, as it left, conveniently broke off a large piece of the meteorite.
...
In front of the bush.
“Well done, Clefable!”
Blue rubbed Clefable’s pink head. Clearly, she was very pleased with this instant change of expression. Then she looked at the Clefairy next to it. By its size, it seemed to be a baby that had only recently been born.
“How about it, Clefairy, would you like to travel with me?”
“Clefairy~”
Without a battle, Blue easily succeeded in catching the Clefairy. Then she casually took the meteorite that Clefable handed over. A quick look revealed that it contained nearly 10 Moon Stones.
“There’s enough for everyone. Don’t say I don’t take care of you.”
Saying this, Blue broke off a small piece and threw it to Red beside her.
Red: “…”
Looking at his piece of meteorite debris, besides the useless outer shell, there was no usable Moon Stone left.
He fell into a moment of silence.
