Chapter 6.
Dark Pastel.
Something that had been evolving in the boy was not only the wild way he acted in secret, but every time he supposedly went hunting, he began to exceed the limits his father had given him, always searching and recording what else he could find. But so far, it was just a forest.
He hadn't seen any wild animals. He even believed that the forest boundary was only there to prevent the flora and fauna from being harmed, but to keep them in good condition without human intervention.
So, each time everything was a little further away, a kilometer, 2 km more or even 3 km more, until the day came when he reached the waterfall in the forest.
And then he found what he never believed would really exist: a mermaid, so he immediately took out the gun he was carrying and shot her, managing to wound her.
He approached and, taking out his sharp knife, cut off a piece of her tail. Obviously, she was a young mermaid; she was small and her flesh was marbled and shiny…
The beast was practically dying under his gaze; He kept not only some of her hair and feathers on her back, but also the tears that flowed from her along with the spilled blood.
Applying more force, he knocked out four of her teeth and then returned as if he had found something so sacred that he couldn't even share it with his best friend...
But there was one peculiarity he began to use, and that was to give Anne small doses of blood mixed with Siren's tears in her food and drinks, beginning to see how her behavior became calmer, even during the last quarter moon...
So, he understood that her flesh also had to be like an amulet, and he kept it very well guarded; That large piece of mermaid tail in the refrigerator in his room, which he even tried himself and said was so addictive that no delicacy could even come close to its flavor.
Its texture was neither soft nor hard, it was the perfect point, and tasting that blood with tears not only gave him energy, but made him retain much more knowledge than he could, so he decided to hunt another one, but this time take it whole...
Weeks passed and each time the limits continued to be crossed. He had arrived at the waterfall several times without finding one of the creatures again, but what he did find was a kind of feathered human that, instead of feet, had claws like an owl's, wings that covered it like a coat like an owl's, and eyes as elongated as an owl's, meaning there was no doubt it was an owlman...
He couldn't even believe this existed and began to discreetly photograph it, every day he went at the same time and admired the species he followed. prowling the place, until after getting to know its movements well, he decided to hunt it down, calling it a day, watching it plummet from the air to the ground, emitting a sound that was too painful…
And before he could approach the beast, more species like himself came out to rescue him, sending a deadly chill through the young man, who, upon seeing a Gargoyle for the first time, felt the cold of death threaten him with a look.
