Chapter 5.
Code Reds.
Unlike Patrick, Damián had support in Tomás, and more than support, he was an accomplice. Tomás was well-versed in robotic engineering, and he himself knew how to create bombs and obtain weapons, so for years they began a project together and called it the Dark Revolution. At first, it only generated code reds, simple errors, but after a while, they began to show results...
They had designed four special cyborgs that were the current size of Doctor Tempus's children. There was one counterpart whom he suspected was indeed the Shadow Woman, and there were also two whom he now believed to be Patrick's sister and his partner, because he was certain they were both part of it.
But there were two more: one designed for the one who came to find Patrick, and another for one of the seemingly small members whom he remembered was now the size of a teenager. He had even created a special suit for himself because if he ever needed to go face-to-face with Tempus again, he would do so personally using that robotic suit.
Tomas was the mind that controlled everything from a distance; like Foster, he knew there was someone else controlling everything from a distance. However, it could be said that now he had created the Dark Revolution to be Serpentor's counterpart, because he knew it very well: sooner or later they would face each other again, this time without masks or media manipulation...
He only hoped that day wouldn't come too late because he truly longed for revenge: the Defiler had taken two of his wives and two children, one born and one unborn... the man was wounded, he had lead in his wing, he felt his pride tainted, and even if he had to smoke one last cigarette to destroy Tempus, even a little, he would do it...
He was willing to sell his soul to whatever existed in order to give a little honor and rest to his soul, tortured by that bastard psychopath; Simply everything was wrong, since they called good things bad, and they called bad things good…
Now he wanted to play bad in order to do good, and he had been preparing for it, although the few times he had seen Patrick from afar, he had seemed quiet, reserved, and solitary. Over the past 10 years, he had seemed increasingly distant, even from his own children…
Sometimes he went out alone to walk in the garden, other days he used the wheelchair. He wasn't injured, that was clear; perhaps he simply used it for comfort, for luxury, or because he didn't want to move, because when you're as filthy rich as Patrick was, you can buy any luxury you want.
However, even his children shied away from him, avoided him like the plague. They knew something he didn't, but longed to know: ¿why did they act that way? ¿Had anything really happened in the ten years of his absence? Because he highly doubted the loss of his supposedly blind wife was enough to trigger this kind of strange behavior, which even caused some of his closest friends to stop coming around…
He hadn't seen anyone pass by in years, except for the lawyer who occasionally came by, but she never stayed more than 20 minutes inside the property. She always brought her son with her, although it had always been strange how she barely interacted with the now reclusive Patrick Tempus.
