Chapter 14: The Calm After the Storm
"Destro...y... destroy... destroy... rage..."
Shekar's anger now had no limits. He was burning with rage. He looked so monstrous that anyone would be afraid to approach him.
Naveen was also terrified of Shekar. He felt that he had made a mistake seeing Shekar. "I broke him," he thought.
Shekar, who was somewhere far away, appeared in front of Naveen. Naveen couldn't even see Shekar moving. He moved that fast. Shekar grabbed Naveen's head and smashed it on the ground. This time, Naveen didn't get up again. Naveen was dead.
Shekar's anger hadn't calmed down yet. He rushed toward the headless person at a very high speed. The headless person couldn't even notice him. Now he was fighting against the headless person. The headless person decided something in his mind.
Headless person's inner voice: If I don't stop him now, he'll become even more powerful.
But the headless person couldn't even attack Shekar. He realized during the fight that Shekar was much stronger than him. The headless person thought about throwing him away, scared that he might kill him. But Shekar grabbed the headless person's hands and hit him on the chest with his head.
Everything went blank.
It was bright white all around.
A little girl's voice: "Papa, Papa!"
The headless person was in the void. His head was covered in fog. His face was not visible. The headless person had heard that voice before. He looked around.
A little girl was there. The fog cleared, and the headless person's face was visible. "Yamuna!" he said.
The little girl came close and hugged the headless person.
Headless person: "My only wish was my daughter, Yamuna. My name is Karan. My wife's name was Shalini. Yamuna is our daughter. Shalini died while giving birth to Yamuna. She left me alone in this lonely life. We were both orphans. We hoped to create a family for ourselves, but she died without seeing it. That's why my only wish was my daughter."
The little girl, Yamuna, asked, "Papa, why did you come last?" The headless person's face expression changed with fear when he heard those words.
The darkness came all around, and he couldn't see the little girl in his hands.
In front of Karan, who was in the dark, there was a door. He immediately ran to it and opened the door. Some thieves had come to his house. They held a knife to Yamuna's neck and were threatening them for money. There were 2 of them. Karan only had one thing in his mind: I won't let anything happen to my daughter.
He tried to fight them. They also beat Karan very badly. The thieves said, "Look, if you give us what we want, we'll leave. Okay?"
Karan immediately came back with all the money he had saved for his daughter after withdrawing it from the bank. After he gave all the money to them, they beat Karan very badly and broke the fingers on his right hand. "Is this all you said you'd give us? After we took so much risk, you're giving us this like a beggar."
Another one of the thieves said, "This is not enough for us. We want more. I don't know what you'll do. If you go to the police, we're ready to get caught, but only after we kill your daughter. Understand?"
Karan was waiting outside his boss's office. He requested his boss, "Sir, please, sir. I'm in a very big problem. I need a loan. I'll work overtime and pay it back. Please, sir. It's my little girl's life." The boss looked at Karan from head to toe. "Look, you're saying it's a little girl's matter, but I don't want to get involved with the police. And you're saying you can repay it. Look at your hand. Look at yourself. Can you continue this job? Tell me." And he left from there.
After work, he asked all his friends and colleagues for money. But because he wasn't that close with anyone, no one helped him. They even looked down on him.
He went home helplessly. His fear of not being able to protect his daughter also grew.
The thieves looked at Karan and said, "What? You didn't bring it? And who would give you money anyway? It's better for your daughter to die. Why should she live when you can't even take care of her?"
Another one of the thieves said, "I'll give you one chance. Go begging every day and give us the money. We'll leave once we're satisfied. Anyway, this is all you're good for. Go, beg."
Karan also started begging as they told him. Everyone looked down on him. They moved away from him. They looked at him in disgust. Because he went home with less money every day, they humiliated him. They broke one of his bones or fingers every day. His little girl couldn't see her father struggling like that, but she was too young to do anything. She didn't understand anything because of her age.
Every day, Karan would beg, people would humiliate him, and when he went home, the thieves would also humiliate him in front of his daughter. After a few days,
The thieves said, "Here, take your daughter begging with you. Seeing her face, people will give you more money. And one of us will follow you so that you don't do anything stupid. If you try anything, we'll kill her immediately."
Karan felt even more pain. He wanted to take good care of his daughter, but now he had to make her do something like this. Karan gave up hope on his life. He only wanted Yamuna to be safe.
Yamuna: "Papa, is all this happening because of me? If I had been careful, this wouldn't have happened."
Karan: "It's not your fault, my girl. I'm the one who can't take care of you properly. I'll get us out of this somehow. Okay?"
Yamuna: "I'm scared."
Karan felt sorry for his innocent daughter's fear and hugged her. "Nothing will happen to you, darling. I'm here," he said, giving her courage.
This time, he got a little more money. The thief said, "Wow! Now that she's here, we're getting a good collection. Continue this. We'll let you go soon."
4 days passed. Karan made the thieves believe that he and his daughter wouldn't run away. Even though he had a chance to escape, he didn't. And Karan knew that those thieves wouldn't let them go that easily. That's why they decided to take a chance on the 5th day.
Karan: "Yamuna, we have to run away."
Yamuna: "Okay, Papa. But I'm still scared."
Karan: "Don't be scared. This is our only chance."
They ran away as soon as the thief who was watching them got distracted. The thief immediately started following them.
Karan escaped very cleverly.
There was a station nearby. Karan decided to take a train and run away somewhere far. He held Yamuna's hand and kept running toward the railway station. But suddenly, when Karan looked at Yamuna, she was gone. Karan called out in fear and sadness, "Yamuna...! My girl, Yamuna...! Where are you?" and searched for her. That's when someone grabbed Karan's hair, dragged him to a dirty street, and threw him on the ground.
The thief was very angry. He had called his other friends, and they were all there. The thief held a knife to Yamuna's neck and was breathing heavily with anger and rage. "Didn't I tell you? That I would let you go in a few days. What is this? You wanted this, right?"
Karan: "Please, please, I made a mistake. It's my fault, not her fault."
Thief: "This is all because of her, isn't it? You wouldn't have done this if you didn't want her."
Karan: "Please let her go. I'll beg for as many days as you want and bring you the money."
Thief: "There are no more chances. You accepted all of this and made a mistake. You'll only understand if I teach you a lesson."
Karan: "Please, please," he said as he tried to hit them and free his daughter.
The thieves reacted immediately and cut Yamuna's neck with the knife.
Silence... ... ...
Karan's heavy breathing was the only sound. His hands and legs were trembling.
Tears wouldn't stop flowing from Karan's eyes. He was crying very loudly. "Ahhhh! Yamuna...!" he screamed, like his heart was breaking.
Karan's sadness and crying turned into unbearable anger.
He attacked the thieves who had done this to Yamuna with anger and sadness that his daughter was dead. He fell on one of them. He lifted the one who cut Yamuna's throat and threw him on the ground. He started choking his throat. Karan's eyes were filled with anger and sadness, and his tears were coming out like steam. He kept choking the thief's throat until he completely killed him. Suddenly, the other one hit Karan's head with a big rock. Karan fell down because of the heavy blow. The thief wanted to kill Karan and stop all this, so he crushed Karan's head with a big stone.
Everything went silent.
The only sound was the breathing of the surviving thief.
The surviving thief looked at his dead friend. He tried to get him up, but he was dead. The surviving thief didn't know what to do, and out of fear that all this murder happened because of anger, he ran away.
Silence.
Silence all around.
A person a little far away was watching all of this. It was none other than Naveen.
Naveen, who saw all of that, came to the dead bodies.
Because Naveen was a doctor and he needed a live body for his experiment.
So, he checked everyone's pulse. The little girl and the dead thief had no pulse. But Karan was still alive.
Karan had rage and anger in him. He was alive with that emotion.
Karan's only wish was to kill everyone because of what happened to him. He was only filled with anger to kill everyone who humiliated him. Anger at everyone who didn't help him. Shekar was also one of them. He also looked at Karan in disgust. That's what led to this.
Naveen immediately conducted an experiment on Karan and turned him into the headless person.
He came out of the void. The headless person only had rage. Now that the headless person remembered everything, he was destroying everything with rage. And he attacked Shekar to kill him too. He wanted to kill Shekar just like he choked the thief's throat. The headless person was choking Shekar's throat tightly. Shekar couldn't defend the headless person. Shekar looked like he was about to die. Shekar didn't fight back. Because Shekar had also seen Karan's past. Shekar couldn't explain how he saw it, but Yamuna wanted to talk to her father, Karan, with Shekar's help. That's why Shekar heard Yamuna's voice first.
Shekar didn't do anything to the headless person and just stood there. He didn't defend himself or struggle.
Headless person: "You all killed her. You all killed my daughter. If one of you had helped, she would have been alive. My daughter died because of you all."
Yamuna's voice was heard by Karan: "Papa."
The headless person saw his little daughter, Yamuna.
Headless person: "Yamuna...!"
He let go of Shekar as soon as he saw Yamuna. Shekar was still alive.
Yamuna: "Papa, I'm scared of you. Even though I was with you all this time, you couldn't see me. You have anger toward the thieves and everyone else, but don't you have love for me? I don't want any of this. I just want my Papa."
The headless person understood how big a mistake he had made.
Headless person: "Sorry, my girl. I made a mistake. As a father, I couldn't protect you. After seeing you die in front of my eyes, my heart couldn't take it. I had anger toward them, but I forgot the love I had for you. I made a mistake. Papa made a mistake. Forgive me, my girl."
He walked toward Yamuna and held her hand.
Yamuna: "Papa, I don't want all this. I just want you to be with me like before. That's enough."
The headless person understood what he had to do.
The headless person held Yamuna's hand and walked toward the police and army. They were shooting the headless person without any mercy because he was a monster.
But the headless person's mind was no longer filled with anger and rage. It was only filled with the desire to see his daughter.
The police and army shot the headless person and tore him into pieces.
The headless person who was torn into pieces was lying on the ground peacefully.
He was happy that he could finally unite with Yamuna. He could be with her.
Shekar, who was a little far away, saw Yamuna and Karan as two normal humans, holding hands and walking.
They were happy now. Shekar was also happy seeing them.
When the police saw Shekar, they said, "He's one of them too. Attack!"
Boom...!
Shekar smiled a little and thought, Who do I live for now?
Shekar's upper body was completely blasted.
Shekar also fell to the ground and died.
The police were enjoying their victory.
They were celebrating that they saved the earth from destruction.
There were hundreds of dead bodies lying around. So much destruction. Raghav, Naveen, the goons, the headless person, Meera, and Shekar were all dead. But seeing their bodies, they looked very peaceful.
Police celebration was everywhere.
The police were getting medals and congratulations for doing their job properly. IG Uncle was also saluting them. But there was sadness on his face. The sadness that Meera was dead.
IG Uncle went to Shekar's house after all that was over. Shekar's mother and father were also in a lot of pain. They were consoling each other. Because their only children were dead. They didn't know the reason why.
IG Uncle: "She went saying she would go with Shekar. She never came back. (SOB SOB) I should have stopped her. I should have told her not to go that far. It's my fault," he said, crying over his only daughter's death.
Shekar's mother: "I wish I had gone with him. He never listened to me. And now... (SOB SOB) he left me without saying anything."
Shekar's father: "I wish I hadn't forced him. I wish he hadn't gone there. I wish I had stopped him. I'm responsible for all of this."
Shekar's mother: "Stop it, brother. It's not just your fault, it's my fault too."
IG Uncle: "Stop it, brother. We all made a mistake."

A few days passed. People started moving on with their lives. This time, in the same place where the big war happened, everything was very normal, and everyone was busy with their work. Shekar and Meera were also sitting on the footpath by the road and talking. They were discussing the results of Shekar's physical test.
