Chapter 11 – Blazing Hearts
Day 10 Post-Breach
Covenant Coordinated Uprising: Operation Emberfall
Global Saint Forces: 17 confirmed, 8 active cells
Somewhere in the Ashlands of France
Command Site Alpha – Covenant of Flame
The bunker beneath the scorched vineyards smelled of sulfur and prayer. It wasn’t built for war — it was built for preservation. Now, it had become the first war room of the Covenant of Flame.
Sariel stood at the table, eyes closed, her hand hovering above a cracked world map. Light shimmered from her palm, illuminating pins, movements, whispers. Her lips moved without sound — listening, not speaking.
Beside her stood Kaito, now wearing the crimson mark of ignition across his collarbone — the symbol of an awakened Saint. His fire was still unstable, but it responded to his will.
Others joined them:
-
Lira, whose voice could silence storms.
-
Aras, the wind-bearer who had lost three cities — and never spoke of them again.
-
Noah, the gentle soul with hands of gold light, who refused to kill but healed without hesitation.
Together, they planned something impossible:
A synchronized strike on three Dominion Towers — to liberate, not destroy.
Target 1: Rome Dominion Citadel
Saint Cell: Aras & Noah
The demons had turned Rome into a museum of despair — statues rewritten in grotesque mockery, prayers carved backward across the stones.
Aras landed atop the main spire, his cloak splitting into wings of air. With him, Noah dropped into the streets, placing his palms to the cracked cobbles.
“Rise,” Noah whispered.
And they did — not the dead, but the broken. Civilians hidden beneath Dominion wards, their minds scarred by corruption, began to weep.
Aras lifted a hand and the sky bent. Wind shattered Dominion pylons. The air refused to obey darkness.
The tower fell by mercy — not violence.
Target 2: Delhi Subnet Core
Saint Cell: Lira and the Echo Choir
Lira entered the city singing.
Her song wasn’t loud. It was low, almost inaudible. But it moved through walls, wires, minds.
She walked through fire. And the flames parted.
Around her, the forgotten — orphans, madmen, broken soldiers — began humming.
Then singing.
Then shouting.
And the Dominion glyphs cracked. Not by sword. By sound.
The demons shrieked. They could not bear truth wrapped in harmony.
Target 3: New Orleans Spire
Saint Cell: Kaito, Sariel, and Seven Volunteers
They dropped into the city under smoke cover.
Sariel walked first — barefoot on scorched concrete, light blooming with each step. Kaito followed, hands glowing with raw fire, still imperfect.
They met resistance.
A new breed of demon — Dominion-forged, armored in glyph-etched steel and pulsing with Vorrash’s signature — emerged from the core.
The Saints clashed for the first time in open combat.
One by one, the volunteers fell — holding the line, protecting civilians, casting wind and light until breath gave out.
Kaito screamed as Sariel was struck — not fatally, but deeply.
He grabbed her hand.
And the fire inside him finally answered.
Kaito’s Awakening
The flame roared from his chest, his back, his eyes — but it did not burn him.
It became a weapon, not of destruction — but of revelation.
The Dominion-forged demons recoiled, writhing.
Kaito didn’t strike them. He showed them who they were — shadows, parasites, hollow things mimicking hatred.
And they vanished.
When it ended, the tower was empty.
Sariel stood slowly.
“You called it,” she said.
“I didn’t,” Kaito replied. “I believed it would come.”
Aftermath – Ashes and Light
Rome, Delhi, and New Orleans were now open cities — the first in over a week.
Not ruled. Not walled. Not saved.
But claimed back by life.
Saint banners were raised — not flags, but symbols etched in air: the flame, the wind, the hand of light.
Across the world, people saw — on mirrors, old screens, water, ash.
They saw a man standing in the fire.
And they began to hope.
Dominion Nexus – Vorrash’s Fury
“They are not soldiers!” Vorrash bellowed.
“They are reminders,” Khedra growled. “Reminders that your kind never finished the job.”
The core trembled. The Nexus dimmed.
“They think themselves holy,” Vorrash hissed.
“Then show them what holiness suffers.”
