One sunny afternoon, while I was sitting with my roommate in the library, a new girl from class walked over, her eyes filled with curiosity:

“Oh wow, you… look so cute! You must already be someone’s girlfriend, right?”

My face flushed bright red, while my roommate let out a sharp hmph, his expression unreadable. My heart skipped a beat: Oh no, he’s jealous!

That girl started pulling me aside to chat more, asking questions and even playfully teasing me. I tried to avoid it, but I still had to act feminine to fulfill the system’s mission.

Suddenly, my roommate stepped in, grabbing my hand:

“What are you… doing with someone else?”

Flustered, I quickly explained:

“No… it’s nothing! We were just… talking, that’s all…”

But he didn’t seem convinced, his jealousy obvious. I knew this was the moment I had to be careful—staying in disguise while keeping the right distance so things wouldn’t turn into a bigger misunderstanding.

A few days later, the misunderstanding grew worse when that same girl showed up at one of my cosplay events and even posted photos online. My roommate was furious, while I felt both embarrassed and worried:

System… why are you dragging me into such a mess of emotions?!

But in the end, when he realized I was really just following the system’s mission, the anger in his eyes slowly softened. We sat down together, talked it out, and shared awkward, shy smiles.

And I realized: true feelings don’t always come at the perfect moment, but genuine care will always overcome misunderstandings.
