The Sleepover (short play)

Scene 6

Scene 6

Sep 23, 2025

[Caroline goes to the kitchen, finds the power box, and turns off the power. Once the power is turned off, the evil boy and girl climb the left stairs quietly without making a sound.]

Sofie: HUH? THE LIGHTS WENT OFF.

Luna, Olivia, Stephanie, Jenny, Emma: (scream)

Jessie: Calm down, girls; I'll go investigate why the power went off suddenly.

[Jessie opened the door to go downstairs, but she couldn't see anything; she felt someone grab her as she screamed. The evil boy and girl managed to capture the sleepover leader, covering her mouth with tape and binding her hands with rope, then dragged her to where Caroline was waiting below. Caroline directed the two new recruits to gather the entire group. At the same time, Caroline texts the boss guy to bring a vehicle to her current location using a map app.]

Emma: Was that Jessie?

Jenny: That was definitely her; let’s check on her

Stephanie: Hold on, don’t open the door; I think I hear something.

Luna: I can’t hear a thing.

Stephanie: Shh, just listen.

[Evil boy and girl slam the door open, causing the gathering of girls to scream. Caroline heard the screams as she loaded Jessie onto the bus that the boss was waiting for. Caroline rushed upstairs and helped the 2 new recruits to put tape on all the girls' mouths and drag them all together and put them in the bus where Jessie was.]

Boss guy: Awesome work, you three, for making this task so much simpler than if I had done it myself.

Caroline, evil boy, and girl: You're welcome, sir!

Boss guy: Let's head back to the dark abandoned valley; I've identified the ideal location.

[Boss guy starts driving.]

Evil girl: What perfect spot did you find, boss?.

Boss guy: You know, while I was wandering through that dark, abandoned valley, I came across an old building. I went inside, and it was a total wreck, but there was a door that took me to the basement, and it was actually in great shape.

Evil boy: What do you have in mind for the leader and her crew? In that basement?

Caroline (smacks evil boy's head): Are you stupid or something? He literally said he found the perfect spot, which is the basement. Meaning he would use the basement and tie each of the girls and their leader to a chair.

Evil boy: Ouch, you didn't need to smack me so hard. I was only asking a question, that’s it. There was no need for violence over a simple question. Also, were there chairs when you discovered the basement?

Boss guy: Yes, everything was present. Chairs, ropes, extra supplies, and even food, which is strange.

Evil girl: Sir, I apologize for interrupting, but I noticed one of the girls attempting to flee from row 3.

[The boss guy stops the vehicle and asks the evil boy to check to see if the girl has escaped from row 3. The evil boy found her free and grabbed her arm as she tried to escape through the window. He sat her down and tied her up tighter to stop her from getting away.]

Evil boy (whispered): If I were in your position, I wouldn't attempt to escape again. If you or any of your little friends try to flee, there will be consequences.

Jenny (muttered): Ouch, not so tight. It’s going to leave a mark.

Evil boy (whispers): That is the point. Just wait until we get to the basement, and your little group, together with your leader, will be able to relax.

[Evil boy walked away and returned to his seat. The boss guy restarted the bus and drove without any interruptions to reach the destination on time. While Jenny was securely restrained and unable to move, she noticed a strand of hair.]

Jenny (thought): That strand of hair looks a lot like Caroline's. I'm trying to see her face, but it's too dark in here; the only light comes from the moon shining through the windows. But that can't be Caroline. I remember asking her this afternoon, and she said she would stay home to do homework.

[They reached their destination; one by one, they took each girl and the leader, brought them down to the basement, and seated them in the chair. Using the ropes, they tied each girl to the chair.]
