Between our heaven across the sea

¿ A Dream?

¿ A Dream?

Sep 12, 2025

At that moment, I ignored everything that was happening around me, floating adrift, sinking deeper into myself, an internal voice constantly wondering:

Where am I? How did I get to this place?

Suddenly, I felt a warm hand take me by the wrist, it was a reminder of something I couldn’t forget.

I felt like I had been asleep for a long time.

Where am I?

—Do you promise to come back to me?

Those words resonated within me, allowing me to recover my sense of what had happened. A few moments ago, the plane I was piloting had crashed into the sea, cracks, glass, and my own blood surrounded me.

It was essential to get out of that place alive, so I had to act immediately. The water was constantly rising, but my left leg had been trapped by a fracture caused by the cold metal of the plane.

With my handgun, I aimed at the glass in front of me to weaken it. I kicked it again and again until I could dislodge it, and then I made a decision: tear my leg free to be able to get out of that place.

I screamed in sadness, despair, and pain. The tears in my eyes accumulated like an abyss, but I managed to endure it. To reach the surface more quickly, I left most of my uniform behind.

Finally, with great effort, I was able to see the aerial combat that was taking place, however, it was impossible for me to distinguish who had the advantage. When I reached the shore, I made a tourniquet with my belt to stop the bleeding from my leg.

—I find myself alone and wounded in a place surrounded by enemies. No one will come to help me. It is likely that I will die here —I said between sobs— What did I do to end up like this? How did I get to this point?

Tiredness overcame me. My eyes slowly closed, plunging me into nothingness, into the uncertain edge between life and death.

To be continued…

This novel is also being published in the spanish language, through this same platform called Entre el Cielo, la Tierra y el Mar, I invite you to help me as a reader in the same way, thank you very much and we will see you in the next episode.

Alot of awkward grammatical errors that took me out of the story. Premise is fine.
