Neapolitan Nightmares

Chapter: 10

Chapter: 10

Sep 12, 2025

"How'd she find out about the murder rumor, I thought that was all nonsense?"

"Forget about that, I wanna know what the heck she meant by her being an angel."

"Une telle déclaration blasphématoire..."

"Cotton candy isn't really a food, it's more of a snack."

"Lucia seemed really upset when she mentioned…you know who."

After a really awkward morning math class, everyone gathered in groups and quickly began to chatter about the pink haired newbie. Some were perturbed by her introduction, others thought she looked weird. Ichigo's first day at Sellavie had barely started yet she already left a terrible impression.

When math class ended Lucia rushed out of the door, Sieglinde meant to follow after her, but she wants to confront that pink haired girl first.

What was that in the basement? Why was she at the field? Why did that girl seem so damn familiar to Sieglinde? She planned to walk over and finally get some answers to the many questions buzzing around in her mind. Whether that pinky wants to or not.

Ichigo sat at her desk, her fingers constantly fiddling but her face seemingly frozen. Even with so many kids blatantly talking badly about her behind her back, literally, Ichigo didn't seem to mind. Before Lin could make her move, Olivia walked up to Ichigo first.

"…Uhm…Hi! I'm Olivia Mel."

"Hello, Olivia Mel!"

"So, I'm the class president. As such It's usually my job to show transfer students around on their first day." Ichigo gave Olivia a blank blink. Olivia nervously coughed into her hand and asked: "Would you like that?"

"Like what?"

"…For me to show you around the school…?"

"Oh! Hmm…I dunno you very well, how can I be sure that you're not gonna lead me to a trap?"

"W- What?" Olivia stepped back as Ichigo's face came too close for comfort. "What do you- I would never do something like that."

"Suspicious! Suspicious! Way too suspicious." Ichigo looked around the room. "If I'm gonna be led by you, I'd like someone else to come too, someone I can trust!" Several students took one step away from Ichigo's direction, even the ones who were sitting. One of the ones who hadn't moved was Lin. "Ah-ha! Who else but my trusted comrade. Come, come!" Sunshine and Rosario didn't move either, but that's because Sunshine was fast asleep and Rosario was still trying to pull Katie's pencil out of her skull.

"Trusted what now?" Sieglinde questioned as Ichigo grabbed Lin's arm and dragged her out of her seat. "Hey! I didn't agree-"

"Alright, I'm ready for the tour!"

Olivia raised a brow, giving Sieglinde a worried look. Sieglinde in turn just shrugged, not at all able to explain why Ichigo chose her or why she was called a trusted comrade.

The three girls headed out of the gossiping classroom…

Olivia turned towards Ichigo. "Is there anywhere in particular you'd like to start the tour?"

Ichigo squeezed Sieglinde's hand, the blonde girl tried to pull herself out of the pink ones' grip but her fingers weren't budging. "I'm hungry. Is there a cafeteria or school store around here?"

"Oh! The cafeteria is right over here…"

Ichigo's smile that had persisted for hours finally dropped as she was presented with the cafeteria hall. To explain in the shortest way possible: Grody. In more detail: The hall was covered in grime and wide webs. Ichigo took one step too far in, a spider that had been hanging on a thread connected to the ceiling fell directly into her face. Sieglinde was expecting her to scream but it only caused mild disgust, Ichigo grabbed the spider and crushed it with her free hand.

Even though Olivia tried to stop her, Ichigo jumped into the cafeteria window with Sieglinde still getting dragged. The kitchen looked no better than the eating hall, in fact it looked worse with all the grease stains and a rat sitting right there on the counter…It was eating a peanut. In the corner of the kitchen sat a group consisting of two chefs and a cafeteria lady who were playing a round of old maid. They seemed to have noticed the children and the rat, but simply ignored them in favor of continuing their game.

"…I don't think I wanna eat here. How about the playground? If I can't get a full stomach with food, I'll fill it with fun instead."

Olivia led Ichigo to the backyard of the school, it was almost as bad if not worse. The yard was covered with tree stumps that looked older than the trees of the forest. There were only three things to play with: Rusty monkey bars, a rusty water pump and a swing that looked surprisingly decent but was way too small for her size, it seems to be more so made for a kindergartner than a fifth grader.

The grass looked awful, smelled bad too. The whole ground reeked of pesticide. Not a single patch of grass looked healthy, there weren't any flowers sprouting and worst of all was the giant red wall that surrounded the area. It was bigger than anything on the actual playground and cast a dark shadow, making the spot seem even sadder than it already is. Ichigo rubbed her hand against it, the hand that was still covered in dead spider goo.

"Jeez. How about the clubs? I heard you guys got a soccer team."

Olivia perked up, seemingly happy about the topic. "Yes! We have a soccer team, a basketball squad, the cooking club and a pop culture club! Which would you like to visit? I think we only have enough time left for one-"

"Is that it?"

Olivia's perky mood died down at the question. "We…We used to have more. A swim team, a volleyball squad, the art club and…" Tears welled up "Fash- T- The fashion club…Uu…" More and more tears started to form until Olivia couldn't hold back anymore and start to bawl her eyes out.

"Did I say something wrong?" Ichigo asked Lin.

Lin stared with empty eyes, it took a while for her to register Ichigo's question. She's been pushed and pulled around for what felt like hours. "Huh…? Oh, right. Olivia used to be president of the fashion club. It got closed like the rest though, due to budget cuts and stuff."

"Budget cuts…"

"She's in the Cooking club now though…Won't be long before they'll probably close that too…" Sieglinde's face turned a shade darker, a green-ish shade spreading across it. Olivia continued to cry while on her knees and Sieglinde had just passed out and lied on the ground.

"Dang, this school sucks ass!" Ichigo yelled, loud enough that the teacher's break room could hear as it was right above the playground gates. "It's shit! Utter dog shit!"

Yumeko leaned her head out from the window. "Ichigo! No yelling in school, especially not while using language like that!" After reprimanding her niece she noticed the crying girl and the unconscious blondie. She rolled her eyes, quickly gulped down the rest of her tea and headed down to the playground.

The town of Berrymarrel, a quiet and honestly boring little town where nothing ever happens. At least not anymore, now that "The Wolf" is no longer roaming the streets. Nobody was prepared for his return, the serial killer who's always seen yet never caught.

It's up to three girls at Sellavie Elementary to end his story.

Sieglinde, who wants answers. Lucia, who wants revenge and Ichigo, who's just trying to have fun with her besties.

(All characters are depicted as 18 or older, even if stated otherwise.)
