*The crown of head or Bai Hui point, also known as the Point of Hundred Meetings, is an acupoint located at the highest point of the head, where the midline intersects a line drawn between the apices of the ears.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Bai Hui point, also known as Du 20 or GV 20 (Governing Vessel 20) is one of the most significant acupoints in the body. Its name, Bai Hui, translates to "Hundred Meetings" or "Hundred Convergences," reflecting its role as a central point where multiple energy pathways, particularly the yang meridians, converge, making it a critical hub for regulating the flow of qi (vital energy) and balancing yin and yang energies.
In yogic practice, it is believed that once a yogi reaches the state of Mahāsamādhi (considered to be the ultimate state of spiritual liberation) the crown of the head (Sahasrara or crown chakra in yog) is considered the point through a realized yogi or enlightened being consciously leaves their physical body at the time of death, merging their consciousness with the universal consciousness or divine. It is believed to be a deliberate and controlled exit of the soul from the body.
