Chapter 2
Johnathan said goodbye to his parents, and it was just like last time but with no ‘don’t mess it up this time’ stuff. He walked down the street and saw Albert waiting for him at the crossroads.
“How was summer school? Any more fight’s?” Albert asked, while walking with him.
Johnathan nodded, “One, he got totally beaten up though. He broke his own knuckles and everything. I only used one spell.”
Albert nodded, “You weren’t supposed to use any.”
Johnathan shrugged, “Could have been worse, could have evaporated him from the universe.”
Albert nodded, “That is true.”
They arrived at the bus stop that would hopefully bring them to their desired destination. They were the only two kids in the district who went to the MDSC so they were the only bus occupants.
“So, what’s up with that spell stuff you were trying?” Johnathan asked.
Albert smiled, he drew a turnip shape in the air and a design came when he did so. He then drew three slashes in the middle of the turnip, and he raised it up. Then he disappeared.
“Nice.” Johnathan said.
Albert reappeared, “Thanks, I’ve been trying to work on other spells. But that’s all I got for now.”
Johnathan nodded, “Useful spell nonetheless.”
Albert nodded as a bus came by, and opened for them. “All aboard for the MDSC!” The bus driver yelled at a much too high of volume for where he was yelling to.
“Good to see you too pal.” Johnathan said when getting aboard. Last time he was flung to the back of the bus, and only was stopped when the bus did. This time he was prepared. Him and Albert went to the back of the bus, and sat down. Albert opened a book labeled, ‘The art of Illusions,’ a non-magical book Albert called funny. I opened a comic book on a superhero called Ironside, some new metal superhero. They waited for a bit, and when they got to the final stop. Johnathan was ready, “Alright, I know this time.”
“Good, because last time was really funny.” Albert said. Johnathan looked at him while Albert was laughing a bit.
“Be quiet.” Johnathan complained. Then the bus driver turned into an empty alleyway, and it was empty. Sorta. The bus went further into the alley and with a flash the bus went into a flash of colors and galactic light. Last time Johnathan had been thrown to the back of the bus from the force, it turned out they were using magic to travel through space to where? Johnathan actually never asked.
They stopped in front of an airport with a bunch of other buses and kids pouring out of them. Johnathan saw many figures in robes trying to herd the children, some human, some elves, into the airport for transition into the MDSC. Johnathan grabbed his stuff, and walked out of the bus with Albert. They went to the figure in robes, who to the untrained eye looked like a bunch of homeless people, but were really the MDSC faculty and teachers.
The MDSC faculty all huddled us into groups, him and Albert being next to each other. Then they led them into the airport, where they’d meet a more, lively character you could say.
