Chapter 4
“Welcome back to school everyone!” Said their new Races class teacher, “I am Ms. Baal Ashblood, but you may call me Ms. Baal for short. Demon names are very important to culture, not so important when it comes to normal day things.” Ms. Baal stood in the front of the class, she was a young demon. Maybe eighteen. “Now, the Master Knight has given me all of his notes from the school year before. I have taken a liking to some of his teachings, but I have been allowed to change a few things around. I would like you to take a small… What did the Master Knight call them? Pop quiz?” The whole class groaned, and passed back a test.
The questions, like Ms. Baal had said they were pretty straight forward. What kind of Supers are there? What abilities do Demons have? What natural advantage do Elves have? They were pretty easy, 1. Three, 2. Fire resistance and healing, 3. Magical use. The tests were given in and they were all probably in the A range, but it didn’t matter this school didn’t test by grades but by how they performed magic.
Ms. Baal nodded, “You all did very well from what I can see, for homework I want you to memorize the three types of Supers.” Everyone groaned, but they all already knew a lot of the material.
First period ended and Johnathan went to time class which was exclusively taught by Johnathan’s personal hero, Mr. Jacobs. Otherwise known as Red Dash.
“Well, the timeline is messy, as some of you know. But I don’t do Time magic. No, I teach it to those who want to learn.” Said Mr. Jacobs from the front of the classroom, “Now I want to teach you something great for your first day back, so I looked through some archives and found a spell I think many of you would enjoy. Move Time allows you to move time forwards or back without your mind being affected. Now of course there are some high limitations, including mana cost. For a spell like this the cost is high, and you may only turn time for as long as you can concentrate on it. I shall read off the instructions and I shall let you begin practicing on your own.” Mr. Jacobs moved back the room, and literally extended it. Then told them the spell instructions and let them do their thing.
Johnathan moved to the back of the room, where he was faced with one of his classmates. A tall weird eared boy came up to him, and smiled. “Hello Johnathan, I have heard many great things about you from this class.” He held out his hand.
Johnathan was reluctant, especially since there was somebody in the school trying to kill him, but took his hand. “Thanks, but I’m not that good. I don’t know as many powerful spells as all of you do.”
The student nodded, “Well, maybe you one day shall. My name is Sebastian, I am a new student.”
Johnathan realized he was in a second year uniform, “Then why do you have a second year uniform?”
Sebastian shrugged, “Just the class they put me in.” He smiled, “It was wonderful to meet you Johnathan, hope we meet again.”
Johnathan nodded, putting Sebastian on his possible murderer list. Then casting a time zone spell to make it so time didn’t move while he was practising magic. He thought of the spell words, and grabbed a rock off the ground. He threw it, “Nwcoyalite Mitohannte” The rock stopped falling and as Johnathan turned his hand the rock went back into its position in his hand. He nodded, a possibly good spell for him to know when in need of it. Suddenly his time zone evaporated and Johnathan thought his soul was being pulled out of his body. He opened his eyes to see himself in front of the Master Knight, but in a spectral, ghost-like form. He moved his arms a bit maybe to try and swim away, but gave up and looked at the Master Knight. “What do you want?”
