Chapter 5
“How rude of you Johnathan, but I will say, having your soul ripped out of your body is quite concerning.” The Master Knight nodded, “So, how are you liking your new teachers?”
Johnathan looked at him, “Is that all you called me here for?”
He shook his head, “Of course not, I need to know you know about our little problem.”
Johnathan froze, “What problem?”
“I know someone's trying to kill you Johnathan, I don’t know who, but I do know someone's trying to kill you.” Said the Master Knight.
Johnathan actually breathed a sigh of relief, the controller's part is what he was truly afraid of. “Ya, I don’t know who exactly, but there’s some kind of spy in the school trying to kill me.” Johnathan said, trying to sound as unknowing as the Master Knight thought he was. “I don’t know who or what, but someone doesn’t like that I’m a Reality Mage.”
The Master Knight nodded, “Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. You continue your studies, and enjoy your time here at the MDSC.”
Johnathan was suddenly back in his body, and Sebastian was looking at him. “Are you ok bud?”
Johnathan’s whole body shivered, having no body for as long as he did wasn’t the best feeling in the world. “Ya, I’m fine. Just thinking, and using magic of course.”
Sebastian nodded, “Of course,” He looked creeped out though, the bell rang and he waved goodbye. “See you later then.”
Johnathan shook off the weird feeling of the soul thing and ran to his bag, when he got there he must’ve looked really crazy because Mr. Jacobs looked at him. “Are you alright Johnathan?” He asked.
Johnathan looked up, a bit jumpy. He nodded, “Yep, all is fine. Just a bit too much mana usage.”
Mr. Jacobs nodded, “How are you liking my new teaching? I’ve heard many great things about you and your progression into magic. So I trust you, as not just a student, but a friend to tell me what you think of my teachings.”
Johnathan was surprised by the question, “Well, even though you might not have Time magic, I think you're teaching us quite well.”
Mr. Jacobs nodded, “Good, because I’m pretty sure this is only a temporary position. I’d like to do my best in these classes.”
Johnathan nodded, “Exactly, and you're doing great. Even as a young teacher.”
“Thank you, I told you I’d see you around school.” Mr. Jacobs joked.
Johnathan nodded, “You definitely did, see you Wednesday Mr. Jacobs.”
He nodded, “As to you Mr. Brody.”
Johnathan walked out of the room to find Albert and Naamah waiting, “Hey guys, what’s up?”
“Is your next class redundant?” Albert asked.
Johnathan nodded, “It’s just Alchemy, why?”
“Alchemy?” Naamah said, “You’d call that class redundant? The one taught by the Master Knight?”
“It’s fine I already talked to him during this class anyway.”
Albert nodded, “Alright, not even gonna ask questions. I think we’ve found a way to catch the spy.”
Johnathan leaned in, “How?”
Albert held up a flier, “The school dance, perfect spot to try and publicly kill a Reality mage.”
Naamah nodded, “Also perfect spot to just have a bit of fun for once, because it doesn’t look like any of you have had fun in a while.”
Johnathan shook his head, “Ok, good position to kill me. Yes. Is it a good idea? No.”
“But what if we catch them?” Albert said.
Johnathan sighed, “Do you both think this will work?” Both of them nodded, Johnathan sighed again. “Alright, let’s catch a killer at a school dance.”
