Chapter 7
Now, yes it was crazy that they were literally in a secret base for the controllers, but they had come this far and they needed to tell the Master Knight somehow that they’d made it here right?
“What now?” Albert asked from behind Johnathan.
“Well, we should get something to tell the Master Knight. Evidence.”
Albert nodded, “Good idea.” Albert had made an invisibility spell to hide them as the controllers walked past them. “So, what kind of evidence do we need?”
Johnathan looked around, “Something only the controllers would have, maybe…” Johnathan spotted a box, filled to the brim with small vials with some kind of purple ooze. Johnathan grabbed it, “What is this?”
Albert’s eyes widened, “Well, if you would actually go to Alchemy class, that is Night Crystal dust. It makes creatures and people go crazy when injected into them!”
“Shh! Be quiet. This will be perfect, only the controllers would have stuff like this.” Johnathan said.
Albert nodded, “Only the wicked.”
Johnathan slipped it into his pocket, “Now without further dew, let’s get out of here!”
Suddenly a blade was pointed in their direction, “What are you children doing here!” A tall elf yelled.
“Dang.” Said Johnathan. He lifted his hand and tried to shoot a time freeze spell, but his hand reacted on its own and red light enveloped his hand then the man. He disappeared, and the whole room went crazy. “Oops.” Johnathan said.
“Ya, just a bit.” Albert said, then he ran out of the room.
When Johnathan looked back the man reappeared, but he just screamed and ran around the room with everyone else. They ran back to the portal and ran through, feeling the horrible feeling of going through dimensional barriers.
Once they got back it seemed the dance had been stopped and the Master Knight was above everyone.
“I apologize for the inconvenience, but I think our problem has been solved. I just felt three people going through our dimensional barrier, and two just came back. They are on our side though, do not worry. You may continue the dance if you wish, but if you would like to leave you can.” The Master Knight said. Most of the crowd started leaving, some staying for the food. Which Johnathan was slightly thinking of doing until he heard his name being called so loudly it might as well have been called a siren. “Johnathan Brody.” Johnathan turned around to see the Master Knight looking down at him, “We must discuss in my office, bring Albert with you please.”
Johnathan, Albert, and Naamah went straight to the Master Knight’s office, still in their clothes for the dance.
“What did you two do!” Naamah asked, quite angrily if you ask me.
‘Sorry breaking the fourth wall here, I said that in a British accent by accident. I think Albert’s accent is rubbing off on me.’
Johnathan shrugged, “We followed the Spy to a Controller base, and I totally messed the place up with some new spell. Then we ran back, but we didn’t find the spy.”
Naamah shook her head, “How are the Controllers still a thing? Didn’t their plans get foiled by the Master Knight?”
Albert nodded, “Yes, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have backup plans.”
Naamah shook her head once more, “Albert you're literally my best friend, and I love ya.” She put a hand on his shoulder, “But why would you ever suggest that?”
Johnathan interjected, “First of all, I knew it Naamah. Second of all, they were always gonna come back. Now we have to deal with it.”
Naamah looked confused, then embarrassed, but then she nodded. Albert just looked thrilled, but also scared at the same time. Then the doors opened.
“Good luck, Reality Mage.” Naamah said.
Johnathan nodded, then walked into the room. He’d been in there once before, well in physical form at least, when the Master Knight told him what he was. Now he walked in, knowing well what he was and what was going on in this world.
“So.” Said a loud voice, “You found the Controllers I hear.” Said the Master Knight, sitting on his desk. He started walking down the steps from his pedestal. “This isn’t good, I knew there was a spy, but I didn’t think there were many Controllers still out there.”
Johnathan nodded, “Ya, we found them. The Spy tried to kill me, and…” He looked to his feet, “I haven’t been telling you everything about my powers, they’ve been evolving. Growing. I know three different Reality spells now, and I used one on the controllers. I made them pretty mad.”
The Master Knight nodded, “Three spells in two years, that is quite the achievement.” He walked in front of them, “And Albert here, he’s been helping you with a few things?”
Johnathan nodded, “Yes, he’s been trying to protect me from the spy.”
The Master Knight nodded again, “And he helped save you from the Controllers, yes?” I nodded, “Well then, thank you Mr. Duncan. I think I have something for both of you now, a mission you could call it.”
“What mission?” Asked Albert.
The Master Knight smiled, “I need your help with Hero Hall.”
