Chapter 3
When they arrived at the airport to bring them to the MDSC they were drained, they defeated a Spikor and were drained of mana. They both agreed to just rest when they got into school. They were all hoarded into groups as they usually were, and brought into the airport.
“So,” Said a student familiar to Johnathan, “I heard you killed a Spikor in battle on your way to school.” Said Sebastian, a student in Johnathan’s Time class. He was a year younger and has been on his possible spy list since his first time with him.
Johnathan nodded, “Yep, it was actually cool, fight a monster and give the final blow.” Johnathan made a gun hand shape and pointed it up, “Easy peasy.”
Sebastian nodded, “Nice, see you later then? Mr. Reality.”
Johnathan did not agree with that name, and certainly didn’t want Sebastian calling him that. Being he could be the soy they were looking for. Johnathan nodded, “Yep, see ya later!” Johnathan ran to Albert who was already in line.
Albert saw him and waved, “I thought you didn’t trust Sebastian.”
Johnathan shook his head, “I don’t, but it’s good to keep up character.” Johnathan started feeling his head throbbing. “Alright, now I feel the Reality magic.” He almost fell to one knee, but Albert caught him.
“Nope, we’re not even in school yet. Just keep it up for a bit, I know your magic costs a lot more mana then mine but you can do this.” He nodded.
Johnathan nodded back, “Alright, let’s do it.” He stood a bit stronger, then a very memorable and grumpy voice came from the desks in front of them.
“Next!” Albert walked up and talked to Ms. Gorgan, the immortal tenant for the MDSC travel system. He walked away with a magic duffel bag and put a thumbs up to Johnathan. He put a thumbs up back, but felt the immense power he’d been drained of. “Next!” Yelled Ms. Gorgan. When he came up he must’ve looked terrible, “Wow kid, I knew you were crazy, but did you actually take on a full size Spikor?” Johnathan nodded, “Well then, you're getting into the ranks quite fast my friend.” She shifted a few papers, “You and Albert Duncan are to report to the Hero Hall, blah blah blah. Oh, here we go.” She checked off a box, “You got to stop being so successful, it’s just making my job harder.”
Johnathan smiled, “Thanks for the, um, complement?” He said, another duffel bag appeared beside him and he slowly walked to Albert. When he found him he smiled, “Well, I guess the attack has been publicly announced.”
Albert nodded, “News travels fast in the magic community, I just hope it doesn’t change things too much.”
The Master Knight appeared above them all and smiled, “Welcome old and new students, to the MDSC!” A roar was heard all throughout the room, and the Master Knight clapped his hands. “Now I would like Albert Duncan and Johnathan Brody to go get settled in early, you have served your work today well.” The Master Knight looked directly at Johnathan, and he froze. Then nodded, as did Albert. They walked through the metal detectors, and to the magical door that was being opened. With all the students watching them.
Now, by now Johnathan knew the routes of the MDSC. What he didn’t know was the Council Center, Albert explained it was another pocket dimension connected to the one they were in. How it held some of the most amazing knowledge in the world and so on and so forth, and how they were technically going to be the first librarians to be in it. When they got to the portal and entered, it was… Much smaller than Johnathan would think. It was a small pocket dimension with many rooms, down the hall were the Hero Hall itself and the Master Knight’s study. They went into the ranger briefing to find a few groups of rangers, they all looked at them and clapped their hands. Applauding their great killing of the Spikor. The Rangers told them to go through the long hallway until they found the room with their names on it. They didn’t look long; it was about the thirteenth door down on the right, and indeed had their names on it.
Alright, so if you read our former files then you’d know that our room was huge and had everything we could ever want. This was ten times that. They walked into a large room, with two large beds and more than enough space for combat, magic, studying, you name it. They looked in aw for a bit.
“Are you sure this is our room?” Asked Albert. Johnathan found it funny, because that’s exactly what he’d asked the first time he saw their room.
Johnathan shrugged, “I guess so.” He found his comics, papers, everything he had before and more. He unpacked a few things then read some comics, before going to bed.
When you wake up in a magic school, and it’s the first day. You should expect to see a floating piece of paper in front of you. Johnathan got up and looked at the paper, and chose all the classes he had before. Nothing different, Albert said he was doing the same. They got dressed and when they did a strange figure appeared in front of them, Johnathan jumped while Albert gasped. A strange red, see-through figure stood before them.
It bowed, “Hello Mr. Brody and Mr. Duncan, the Master Knight has sent me to tell you that he’ll be in Hero Hall awaiting your arrival for first day instructions. He also said that Johnathan was to not go crazy with any reality magic while in this room, it is very delicate.” It dissolved into mist and Johnathan just looked at Albert, who was still jumping a bit.
“So who was that?” Johnathan asked.
Albert looked to him, “That was Mohan, kind of the Master Knight’s right hand you could say.”
Johnathan nodded, “So something I just shouldn’t ask about then, got it.”
