Chapter 2

Johnathan walked along the streets of New York City and smiled, “You know I think this year Imma ask the Master Knight for private lessons on Reality magic.”

Albert looked at him, “Really?”

Johnathan shrugged, “Ya, if I’m gonna be a part of NEXUS I should probably be on my A game.”

Albert nodded, “True I guess. Actually that’s a great idea! Do you think he’ll let me in too! If I’m really gonna be a teacher in the Air class I’m gonna need all the help I can get.”

Johnathan nodded, “He’ll probably let you, even if we’re learning different thing…” The ground shook as Johnathan finished his sentence, “Why does there always have to be something crazy happening!?” He yelled. He snapped his fingers and created a portal to a close rooftop. He waved Albert in, and they appeared on top of the building.

“See, it’s good to practice your magic.” Albert said.

“Now isn’t the time for a lecture! It’s like you're a teacher already.” A huge crack was heard and a huge monster appeared from the ground, “Well, that answers that question.” Johnathan recognized it to be a Centipilo, a giant centipede-like creature. “That’s great,” He looked to Albert, “Now what?”

Albert looked at him, “What do you think?”

Johnathan nodded, “I hoped we wouldn’t be in that field again.” He ran to the other side of the building, ran back. And jumped off the building, with Albert running down the building at fast speeds. Johnathan liked the feeling of the wind against his face, but knew they had a giant monster to deal with. He teleported to the streets, right in front of the Centipilo. He looked up at it, “Hey! Big ugly centipede! Follow me!” Johnathan ran as fast as he could with his time magic backing him up, and made the Centipilo move with him. He remembered a lesson on this creature in school, it wasn’t fast, but it was hard and strong. Johnathan needed a clear shot, and that’s where Albert came in.

A bolt of energy bit the monster, creating a crack in its armor and drawing its attention away. “Hey! Weirdo! Want some human guts!” Albert yelled. The monster roared, and turned to Albert giving Johnathan an open shot. He pointed his arm to the crack in its armor, and with a wave of red energy a bolt fired out of Johnathan’s hand and into the weakest point of the Centipilo. It evaporated into mist, and a lot of people were screaming.

Johnathan turned to Albert, “I think we did something wrong!”

After their little event many Rangers, people sent by the MDSC to handle multiverse threats, came to clean up the mess. A bunch of peoples minds were erased, and a bunch of monster guts were cleaned. Johnathan and Albert didn’t stick around for long, like they had said they weren’t in that field anymore.

‘Breaking fourth wall! Ha! Losers, having to pick up all the monster guts. Again!’

Anyway they made their way to their bus stop and sat down on a bench. It wouldn’t take long but buses prefer to be more careful around monster zones, which they were currently in. The bus finally arrived and they got on, saying hi to the bus driver once again. They found a spot and waited for the big dimensional jump, but in the meantime they talked about what they wanted to learn over the next year.

Johnathan kept talking about how the Master Knight was the only one who could teach him what he wanted to learn, and how he was going to ask him to teach him more. Then they got to the tunnel, and a bunch of kids started asking what was happening.

Johnathan stood up, “Kids! Sit in your seats and don’t stand up! I know that from experience!” He sat back down next to Albert and made sure he wouldn’t be affected by the teleportation magic.

“Ready for fourth year?” Albert asked.

Johnathan nodded, “I think so.”

They went into the portal, and two kids fell to the back of the bus. First years.
