Chapter 4
Alright now Ms. Gorgan has always had problems like that, but let’s choose to forget that. I left the desk, creeped out but excited nonetheless for the year to come. I went to find Albert, but when I finally did find him he was all sorts of anxious.
When he saw me he ran to Johnathan, “We have a huge problem!” He whispered.
Johnathan looked at him, “What’s wrong?”
“I saw the controllers sigil paper we found, a different one, but the same kind of paper.” Albert said.
Johnathan’s hands started glowing red, and he felt his whole body giving up energy. “Where?” Then he felt his whole body drawing energy from around him, everyone started looking around wondering where the pull of mana was coming from. “Where is the spy?” He whispered to Albert.
Albert backed up from Johnathan, “Johnathan, let’s calm down, you're using a lot of mana right now and…”
“No I’m not, you feel it right? Someone connected all your mana pools to mine, including the spy’s.” He started creating something new in himself, and expanded upon it. His mana pool started filling with others mana, and his own grew. He felt his feet lift off the ground, and every part of his body glowed a red hue. “The spy tried to kill me by giving me too much mana.” He said to Albert, “But they failed.”
He felt every fiber of himself pulse with energy, but he stopped it. He let the mana grow him mana pool, but not kill him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. A hand landed on his shoulder, when Johnathan opened his eyes the Master Knight was standing in front of him, nodding.
“Very good Johnathan, we must talk after you get settled in.” He said. Johnathan didn’t say no, he could tell something had happened that was the Master Knight’s expertise. The Master Knight turned away and floated into the air above all the students, “Welcome everyone! As some of you know you shall all now be going into the MDSC for either your first year or you’ve been with us before. We apologize for the small problem we had, just a slight mishap. Without further adieu, welcome to the MDSC!”
A burst of cheers came from the crowd, and the Master Knight looked directly at Johnathan. Almost as if to tell him they were going to have a really needed talk.
Johnathan and Albert got settled in and Albert kept asking him what he could do.
“Well, you know that feeling when you're searching for mana in your mana pool and you can feel the constraints to the amount you can have in there?” Johnathan asked.
Albert nodded, “Of course, people all start out with the same amount most times and they are able to grow them through years of training. So?”
“Someone must’ve cast a spell to destroy me. Again. All I know is at some point Everyone’s mana pools were flowing into me, and almost destroying it. Before it could I may or may not have tapped into the more spiritual side of magic. Before my mana pool exploded I had a new spell in my head called grow area, I used it on my mana pool and all at once mana flowed through easily and spells flickered to life. It was like the world inside me just grew millions upon millions of times.” Johnathan tried to explain.
Albert nodded, “Alright, someone tried to make your own body kill you, but they failed.”
“Yep.”
Albert gasped, “I think I know how we can learn more.”
Johnathan looked at him and got really happy, then felt his body go weightless. He was flying in the air once more. Just then Naamah walked into the room.
“Hey guy’s, everyone’s talking about how Johnathan is some kind of master mage and…” She saw Johnathan floating in the air.
Johnathan motioned for his body to turn, but failed. Then he focused through his mind, and he turned toward her. “Ya, something really cool happened.”
After catching Naamah up to speed, and how he was about to go to the Master Knight’s office. She started nodding in agreement.
“Alright, so you're supposed to be going to the Master Knight’s.” Naamah asked.
Johnathan shrugged, “Well ya, but…”
“Johnathan, go to the Master Knight’s. Now.” Johnathan nodded, and started trying to pull himself down.
“Come on Johnathan.” Albert said he grabbed Johnathan’s leg. Then he pulled it away at high speeds. “Ow!” He yelped.
Johnathan looked at Alberts hand to see he was well past burnt, and that he needed medical attention.
“Albert!” Naamah said, she pointed to Johnathan. “I know you didn’t mean this, go to the Master Knight's. I’ll take care of Albert.”
Johnathan nodded, feeling helpless. Suddenly he fell out of nowhere, and hit the floor face first. “Ok, I deserved that.” He mumbled, then went to the Master Knight’s.
