On the next day, from dawn, all three go away from the inn, after a comfortable and really restful night, so they are all ready to start a new day.

The trio keep on going on their route for a few more long minutes before getting in front of the death's abyss. It is a giant crack on the floor, it seems to be bottomless or at least deep enough to not see the bottom. A wooden bridge is the only way to cross it. So it might appear dangerous for some people, a lot of people in fact.

Ywain goes on the bridge first, pulling his donkey by hands as if he is used to cross that scary bridge, leaving Symone and Vek alone. One of them is frightened and the other does not dare to show their emotion, behind the piece of fabric.

Vek walks on the crackling wooden bridge, they walk a few steps and turn around to see if Symone is following. But it is not the case, the half-elf is shaking out of fear keeping his eyes looking at the void. The one covered in fabrics slightly sigh before extending their hand in front of Symone, in order to help him, the latter looks at Vek's hand. He hesitates for a while, in fact since they met, Vek had never been really sociable and even less letting people touch them but Vek just wants to end this travel really fast, so they decide to help the half-elf out.

Symone ends up accepting, so he holds Vek's hand, the one covered in black is extremely gently holding the half-elf’s shaky hand. Then they slowly cross this wooden bridge, while walking to the other side of it, Vek admires the landscape. He sees a big green pine forest and a gigantic sea in the background and they can also distinguish some lakes hidden here and there in the forest.

Arriving at the end of the bridge there is Ywain, arms crossed, impatiently waiting for the two others looking at them walking really slowly because of Symone. Vek can't really concentrate on this magnificent scenery, his hand being literally crushed by Symone's, who is really scared. After long seconds, both finally arrive at the end of the bridge then their travel continues for hours again, the path they're taking is always the same, forests and plains.

The evening approaches quite fast despite the repetitive landscape. As the night is coming pretty soon, Ywain decides to stop right next to a large lake for the night, he explains to the two other :

-"This is where we're going to go apart but I will spend the night with you, the night can be really dangerous here, especially in the forest."

They are all settling right next to the lake, near a huge dead log they use as a bench. After settling down, Ywain orders the two others :

-“Can you both go get some wood for the fire camp ?”

They  both obey and go each different way. Symone curiously observes the one dressed in black clothes going deeper in the forest, the night is slowly coming.

On Vek's side, after arriving in the middle of the woods and making sure that no one is around, they take off the piece of cloth which is covering their head to see better. We can now see what seems to be a young man with red skin and horns, he is in fact a demon, those creatures are banished from the capital, this certainly explains why he was hiding and really wanted to go away. By the way, the demon the king is looking for is in fact Vek so Symone and Ywain are potentially in danger with this creature but for now, no one knows if this demon is aggressive or not.

After only a few seconds gathering sticks for the fire, the demon hears something cracking, he does not bring any more attention to it because he is in the middle of a forest, there's a lot of weird sounds around so he continues. A few more seconds later, a creature runs at him. Vek doesn't have time to see it, so the demon is being thrown at a tree log and lets a pain scream go out of his mouth before realising that the beast is in fact a black bear. This type of bear isn't usually aggressive, this one must be hungry or protecting its toddlers.

Vek lets out a growl of pain then he tries to debate from the beast, he pushes it as much as he can. The bear starts to tear the other one's clothes in order to prepare its meal and especially to kill him more easily. The demon is already a bit disfigured, he doesn't want to give up that early, so he keeps trying to debate against this blood thirsty beast but the black bear does not miss any chances to stab him in the stomach with its claws to cool the demon down so he doesn't move anymore or just less. At this exact moment, Vek lets out a huge howl of pain followed by a yell for help, which resonates in the entire forest.

-"HELP !.."

It takes only a few seconds before someone comes to help him. Symone is here, panicked because his new friend is usually calm and silent. When the elf sees the bear he is taken by great courage so he runs directly to it and takes out a knife he kept since the dwarf attacked. Then he stabs the animal in the back. Symone gets projected on the back as well, then the black bear runs away because of the pain caused by the stab in the back and because it knows it can't survive in front of more than one person. The elf painfully gets up and finally goes to Vek who is lying against a tree, trying to survive, his abdomen being all bloody and partly torn apart.

Symone helps Vek to get up, not caring about the way he looks and taking some branches for the fire as well. At this moment, the height difference between them is obvious. Indeed, Vek is one head smaller than the elf even if he is quite tall for a demon, so he is around 180cm. After walking for only a few metres, Symone realises that Vek can't really walk, so he decides to carry the demon like a princess but he asks first :

-"Erm.. You can't walk properly, is it ok if I carry you ?"

Vek growls out of pain before authorising the green elf to carry him in another way. It makes the pain slightly go away but he is still suffering.

Arriving at the camp Symone notices that the fire is already lit, he doesn't give it that much attention, healing his friend's injuries is the most important right now. So Symone sits the demon right next to Ywain and asks him for some help. The faun observes Vek from head to toes and notices, on the top of his forehead at the limit of his long black hair, two middle sized horns then he finally notices that all of his skin is red. Ywain exclaims :

-"This.. this is a demon !"

Then the faun quickly steps away and explicitly lets Symone know, without talking, to do the same but the latter does not understand the excessive reaction of the small faun. Concerning Vek, he is still suffering, he flinches more and more because of the pain, begging for help from time to time. So Symone starts to search everywhere he can in hope of finding something to heal his friend with. Happily Symone's aunt is a doctor and she taught him the basics of medicine. After only a few seconds searching, he miraculously find some medicinal plants and bandages in the carriage but Ywain do not want to let him do :

-"Symone, don't ! They're demons ! He will end up killing us, this creature is from hell."

-"It has been a few days since he is with us and we are still alive. So let me do or help me." The green elf scolds the faun with a soft voice to not make anyone panic more than they already are.

So Ywain decides to stay near his donkey, letting time to sort off his thoughts, which will take all night long.

On Symone's side, he starts the process to heal the one who's hurt. He starts by taking off the rest of the demon's upper cloth so the elf sees a damaged abdomen, not that much but enough to make the demon weaker. He cleans it with the water from the lake they are settled right next to for the night, it isn't a really good idea but it is the only thing he could find since all of the drinkable water has been used during the day. Thanks to the light of the fire, he observes the depth of the injuries then he says, while applying diverse products and medicinal herbs :

-"This is serious.. we'll have to find a doctor to heal you better." He says these words much more delicately than with Ywain.

After applying all these things Symone takes a bandage which is no other than a simple piece of white fabric and he rolls it around Vek's abdomen. Doing that he finally notices gorgeous tattoos on the demon's body. The green elf is marvelled :

-"Woah... Those drawings are beautiful." He can't help but let his eyes wander all over this art.

He slowly approaches his fingers to touch the tattoos but Ywain interrupts, seeing that Symone is getting a bit too close to an actual demon. Ywain says, by the way he is still upset about the green one wasn't listening to him :

-"We should go get some sleep, Symone. It's late."
