"Well whatever it is, it ain't ours" she said, throwing the 14 week old cat out the window. "Sunny!" Sam yelled as he ran out the door to check on her. Sunny had landed on barbed wire, that somehow got in their front yard, face first. There was a spike pierced through her eye and a large cut on her stomach, blood pouring out. "Oh my gosh" Sam said wide eyed "You killed her!" yelled Sam "You killed an innocent baby kitten! She was barely 3 months old! And you killed her! You killed her!" "It was just a cat" she said "Not a real person. Get over it and stop whining around or the neighbors will stare". The next day when Sam went to school "Hey Sam, how the kitten?" asked William "Dead." replied Sam "What?" said Madison not that surprised "How?" "My mom threw her out a window and she landed on barbed wire that mysteriously appeared in our front yard" "Dang, that's a crazy way to go out" "Aiden, shut up his cat literally just died and your joking around?" said Madison "That is a crazy way to go out though" said William "I'm done with you two.". The next day Aiden wasn't at school. "Hey Sam, have you seen Aiden? It's not like him to miss school" said Madison "I was about to ask you the same" said Sam "Maybe he's just sick?" said Oliver "that's exactly what I thought when Valery left." said Sam "Well if that's the case then Aiden should stay far away from roads" "William! Don't worry Sam, Aiden wouldn't just do that and you still have his phone number so he can't escape from you that easily" said Oliver "Why would he want to escape?" asked Sam "No, that's not what he meant, and Aiden wouldn't just disappear like that cause he already has some sense, so don't worry Sam". The next day after school (a Friday) the four had a sleepover at Madison's house since Aiden wasn't there and the other's house were quite busy, so Madison's house was the best option. Meanwhile, Aiden was at a funeral but he wasn't really that sad because he had never met his grandfather and didn't really care but his family around him were all crying and grieving the loss so he stayed quiet. At the sleepover, "Hey William?" whispered Madison "do you know what's up with Sam?" "No, but he is acting kinda weird just sitting there, staring at the wall" "Sam, you aren't seeing demons again, are you?" "When did that happen?" asked Oliver "That's a different story" said Sam "Okay, so you are alive, unlike Val-" "Shhhh. We don't talk about that" said Madison "What? She isn't Bruno" "Hey, we don't talk about him either". "What are you guys even talking about?" asked Oliver "Sorry Oli, you wouldn't understand" said Sam. The next day Aiden was back and when to Madison's house to join the rest of the group (his and Madison's parents are best buddies so when they came back they were informed and he was invited). "Aiden! You're finally back, Sam was so worried you had left him forever" "Well I was kinda forced to go since it was a funeral, but I didn't know the guy so it wasn't really that sad for me" "Oh, sorry to hear that" "Anyways, where is Sam? I thought he'd be here" "He had to leave, didn't give us much detail except that his mom was drunk again" "I'll go and visit him so he stops worrying" said Aiden "Okay Aiden, your funeral" "William!". As Aiden made his way up Sam's front steps he heard yelling coming from inside, and it was Sam's voice "Mom! Why do you always get so drunk with people you barely know? Do you really want to end up like-" he stopped himself "You know what? Nevermind. Sorry for yelling" "Maybe I shouldn't have come here" Aiden thought, but Sam had already seen him. The door burst open "Aiden! You didn't leave me to die alone!" "What-" "I'm joking" "Um, okay" "Anyways, where have you been?" asked Sam "I was at a funeral, and before you say anything, I didn't know the guy so it doesn't really matter that much" "Aiden. Every life matters, even if you didn't know who they were or what they did". "Anyways, I should probably go back to the sleepover, can I count on you to come later?" "Yeah, I should be able to make it" said Sam. About two hours later, Sam was out the door and walking to Madison's house. He arrived and when he was walking up the steps he heard arguing but not the kids, the parents, Madison's parents. He knocked on the door, silence, then the door opened and Madison's father answered. "Hello?" he said "Hi I'm Sam, Madison's friend" "Oh, hi? The other kids are upstairs" said the father "Thanks" said Sam as he let him in. He went upstairs and knocked on Madison's door. Madison answered looking slightly annoying but her expression changed when she saw Sam "Oh, Hi Sam I thought you were my parents pestering us again, I'm glad you're here, also Aiden has been waiting for you to get here" "Thanks, I'm glad I'm here too". He walked over to Aiden "Hey Aiden" "Sam! Finally, I thought you'd never come although it is kinda boring here, we don't have much to do" "We could always go to your house?" "I guess we could but we'd have to ask Madison's parents" "On it." said Madison as she walked out the room. "Was she listening to us?" asked Sam "Yeah. But I should call my parents to make sure that it's okay to go over there".
