Both women stared at the phone in Lisa's hand, their eyes fixed on the screen. "And you brushed it off?" Tina asked, her voice laced with anger and incredulity.
Lisa sighed, trying to explain the situation. "That's exactly what happened, Tina. I swear. He just handed me the ring and said I dropped it."
Tina's gaze remained skeptical, her eyes narrowing as she watched the video playing on the phone. The headline "Love Takes Flight: Luke Wilson Proposes at the Airport" flashed on the screen, accompanied by the footage of him returning Lisa's ring.
Lisa replayed the scenario in her head, trying to clarify the situation. "I only smiled at him because I was being polite, and I put the ring back on immediately because I didn't want to lose it again."
Tina's expression remained stern, her anger and frustration evident. "Why is this still everywhere?" she demanded. "They should have debunked it by now. Do you even know who we're talking about?" She emphasized the last part, her voice dropping to a whisper. "A very influential person."
Lisa felt a surge of anxiety, realizing the potential implications of the situation. She tried to reassure Tina, but her cousin's doubts lingered, fueled by the video's widespread circulation and the misleading headline.
Mrs. Wilson paced angrily in her office, her eyes fixed on her phone as she waited for Desmond to arrive. When he finally walked in, she turned her gaze on him, her expression stern.
"Do I need to tell you what to do?" she asked, her voice laced with frustration. "Do I have to teach you your job?. "What is all this?"
Desmond took a step forward, his eyes locked on hers. "Ma, let me explain. I have my reasons."
After he had explained the situation, Mrs. Wilson's anger seemed to dissipate, replaced by a calculating glint in her eye. "Your plan had better work, Desmond," she warned.
She headed to her son's office, only to be told that he had already left for the parking lot. She followed him, her heels clicking on the floor. When she spotted him, she called out, asking him to ride with her home.
In the car, they discussed the video that had been circulating everywhere. "Do you have anything to do with her?" she asked, her eyes narrowing. "Do you know the lady?"
Her son was taken aback by the question, but he composed himself quickly. "I already told you everything," he replied. "And why is nothing being done about it?"
Mrs. Wilson explained the situation to him, but he didn't seem convinced. It took some persuasion, but eventually, he agreed to her request. "If you get in touch with her, let me know," she said, her voice firm.
As they pulled up to his destination, he opened the door and stepped out, shutting it behind him with a soft thud.
As Luke sat in the backseat of his car, reviewing his schedule for the next day after a long day at work, his gaze drifted out the window, and his eyes landed on Lisa emerging from a store. "Stop the car and take pictures of her," he instructed his driver. The driver obliged, snapping photos as Lisa walked down the street, unaware.
