This school thing was more curious than I thought. The lessons that we were taught, some of them made no sense, but as I was always good with logic and Mathematics, I understood that class easily. My other teachers couldn't read my handwriting, but I didn't know it until Roxanne took one of my papers to figure out why I was failing.
"Arthur, you wrote in the language of Denuir," Roxanne said, "That's why you're failing. Do you not know how to write in English?"
"What is this English?" I asked.
"It's what we're speaking right now," Roxanne said, "I can tutor you if you promise to tutor me in Math."
"Aye," I said, "But a fair maiden and a man such as myself shouldn't be alone together."
"We can go to a cafe or something, okay?" Roxanne asked.
"What is a cafe?" I asked.
"Don't lie to me, Arthur," Roxanne said, "I know you went to a cafe back home with Angelique and Aria."
"That was ages ago with Angelique," I said, "And Aria dragged me there when I said that I hadn't eaten a scone in 1400 years, since my wife, Angelique, died. Aria was much too pushy for a maiden."
"I still don't understand why you were so attached to Angelique after her death,* Roxanne said, "You didn't even love her. Why didn't you try to move on?"
"I am built for quests, not love, Roxanne," I said, "And it's terribly frustrating that I no longer get quests. And even more frustrating that we live in a land without a king to give me orders. I can't contact a president and according to that one teacher, the presidents constantly change."
"Just tell me that you don't want to go in plain and simple words, Arthur," Roxanne said, "So do you want to have me tutor you at a cafe or do you want me to tutor you at one of our homes?"
"My abode is off limits," I said, "Grandma and Mother are gossips that never shut their mouths, and Father hasn't been home to see us even once. Apparently, he gets quests, but he can't tell us where he is."
"My home it is then," Roxanne said.
"You gave me three choices, Roxanne," I said, "Why do you get to choose instead of me?"
"Because you only gave excuses for not going to the other ones," Roxanne said, "It's the obvious choice." I sighed, she was correct in that notion, but I was always told not to be alone with a woman.
Arthur Brown was a Hero who saved his world 1700 times and lived 2000 years. His death was sudden and unexpected, with him drowning. He got reincarnated into the body of a 15 year old boy who was also named Arthur Brown, but this boy looked nothing like him and lived on Earth, a mundane planet with no real threats and nobody to tell him what quests he needs to take. He now lives with the other Arthur Brown's family: a grandmother who needs care, his mother who is trying hard to be the sole caretaker of his grandmother while taking care of the house, and his father who is typically not home due to his job. How is Arthur going to survive high school or living on such a boring planet?
