 Magic system:

In this world magic is sentient and creatures are inherently non-magical so they have to essentially spend like FOREVER learning how to work with magic and channel it because magic is disagreeable. There’s the basic elements and they can learn to channel it however the hell they want.

So there’s life magic which can be used for boosting others powers, healing and defense. Its cons are that whenever used it’ll weaken the user, like drain a bit of energy with everything cast. If said user overworks themselves they will decompose instantly and wither into nothing but ashes (bones included) and suddenly die.

There’s earth magic, which includes any of the basic elements. Water, earth, air, fire.

Air is pretty cool, since you can suck the air out of others lungs and smother them, blow them away in a tornado (or a breeze if they’re shaped like a sheet of paper and you’re not strong enough for that) and turn oxygen into carbon dioxide! (if you’re strong enough)

It can help boost the attacks of fire and water, used to make giant ass radical waves or blow smoke or whatever. Pretty convenient, but if you’re fighting a water user you’re shit out of luck because you can’t make wind strong enough to divert an ocean! Also if you try to suck them up in a water spout they could just blast you and you’re fucked.

Anyway, dirt. If you’re dirt, you’re literally dirt. I MEANT EARTH!!! You can’t use air to levitate dirt because you don’t have air powers, sorry. Your powers are inherently shitty. You can make more dirt, but how fast can you make a tower of dirt powerful enough to bury a wind user before they just blow it down when it starts piling up?

You can make grass grow. If you’re powerful enough, you can make vines split through the ground and yank someone under the cracks before they can even blink. You can also make those vines do your bidding and shake someone like a pill bottle. Not only that, but you can split cities in two and watch your rivals spiral into the cracks before sinking into a void before the echoes of their terrified screams fade.

That is–if you’re powerful enough. Before you are, you’re going to have to hang on the coat tails of your party and convince them they have a good reason to tote you around while you make hair-sized fractures in the dirt (you’re not good enough to move onto rocks yet) in the most serene place possible since you have to ‘be in the zone’ to do anything.

Fire is cool, you can blast people with magma or straight flames but water can destroy you. It’s easy to progress in and one of the best forms of attack magic but also if you don’t move quick enough you could be ambushed by a wind user propelling themselves 30 feet in the air toward you and if you’re not quick enough to blast them before you get blasted by them you’re cooked.

Water. Ah. You can fill up your own pool and swim around in it! You can make your sink run without twitching the faucet! You can also blast people, flood people–when you’re powerful enough, but beforehand you’re going to have to be by a body of water before any of it works out for you and you can manifest it on your own.

The first drips of water can turn into an ocean, flooding your rivals and drowning them. It’s also great for betrayals since you can breathe in the bottom of a cavern filled with water while everyone (but air who you can combat with ease) is probably totally hopeless and take the treasure for yourself!

Lastly, blood magic. A couple drips of blood can revive a dead flower, but you don’t have enough to revive a dead person, do you? Depending on how much blood you’ve got in your stock, if you half-revive someone, they just have half the mind to do your bidding. BUT that’s illegal due to the ethics.

Blood magic isn’t forbidden though since it can also be used for healing. They’re most commonly doctors but due to how easy it is to be unethical, people are often judgemental of blood magic users and those who choose to pursue it.

 RULES:

Be nice and fair to other players and and make up whatever backstory you want for your character

The world is isekai type villages and basic european-esque fantasy kingdoms scattered around a land called Taykabahth. Your character can be any species but they can only be dominant in one of the powers. They can have a secondary but they’ll never be good enough in it.

Everyone hates their elf king named Greasly Beasely but keep that a hush hush

ALSO–only guards are permitted to use magic, however they can’t use blood magic, only those working in medical fields can. If your characters are basic citizens caught using magic or they’re using magic in a way Greasly doesn’t like they’ll be arrested.

Life magic is permitted in department stores but nowhere else. Guards can patrol the streets or fight goblins and monsters in caves since there’s been swarms lately, especially targeting other provinces with more vocal dukes and duchesses. Your character can be dukes or duchesses or even cousins of greasly but they can’t be direct royalty.

Also if they really want to use magic they can but they just can’t be seen doing it–or they can we’ll just see what happens :)

PS. If your characters do something historically significant I’ll start writing a little history book for the universe and they’ll be added to it!
