During a bright and warm summer day, in a field, a man is lying down surrounded by... cows, he slowly opens his eyes to discover this scenery from his own point of view. After meeting the gaze of one of the cows, he just startles with a simple and soft scream and says :

-"Wow !... what am I doing here ?"

He looks around him once again, rubbing his forehead to make a headache pain goes away before he cringes :

-"Ew.... what is this smell ? Why do I stink like that ?"

Even though he saw the cows, he is still not really awake from the long nap he took, he can't even remember how long it was. He finally decides to get up, after a few stretches, he starts to walk, looking for someone to ask them where he is right now.

After long minutes of not finding anyone, his eyes finally meet with an old house, which seems abandoned. So the man decides to just go inside, hoping to find someone inside it despite it looking really abandoned. He enters it, immediately closing the door behind him.

He is now walking around the tiny abandoned house, everything is upside down and broken, afterwards he notices a mirror, so he decides to take a look at it so he can finally see his own face. He sees the face of a man in his late 20's, covered with dust and dirt, but he notices some weird tattoos on his forehead as well, then he realises that those are demon's marks, he exclaims, surprised :

-"What am I ?! Why did I become a demon master !? That's impossible !!" His knees become weak so he ends up falling on the dirty floor, making his old white clothes even more dirty. He touches the tattoos on his forehead, trying to make it go away.

After falling on his knees, a great migraine comes to him, he squeals in pain and a sort of flashback comes to his memory. He remembers being in a big rounded and dark place, a woman who seems to be the goddess of dark magic, Xia Zhi, is standing up, in the other side of the room, a dead body in her arms, she throws it carefully in the middle of the room, and says :

-"Uh.. I found this body, still fresh." Then she continues talking about the corpse, as if it is completely normal : "Judging by his past life, he wasn't so popular, so it will be easy for you to adapt to his life, people won't recognise him."

She is, in fact, talking to the ghost of the future body's owner, which is kind of complicated to understand, but it won't be that long. So, the ghost is taking a closer look to the body she brought, after analysing it for a few seconds he notices something, and says :

-"Is it...a Demon Master's body ? Are you serious ? I am fine with anything but.. THAT." he says, pointing at the body with both of his hands.

-"Boy, the least you can do is to accept what I am bringing you."

-"But I prayed for a hundred years !...." exclaims the ghost seized with a certain rage.

-"You are dead, praying as a dead person does not count. Well, your new name will be Yao Qiu, so don't forget it, or you will mess up." Xia Zhi says, preparing some stuff using dark magic.

The ghost takes a moment before asking :

-"But you said that no one will know me, so why do I have to keep his name ?"

Xia Zhi says, staring at the ghost, or future Yao Qiu :

-"We never know what can happen. Enough questions !"

After yelling this, she starts a ritual to transmigrate the ghost into the body which is still laying on the floor, for this process she is using dark magic, her special power.

Suddenly, Yao Qiu is snapped out of his flashback because of someone knocking at the door of the abandoned habitation, which seems to be unusual. An unknown voice talks :

-"Is there someone here ?"

Panicked, Yao Qiu is trying to hide those hideous demon's tattoos, so he ties a lousy piece of white cloth he just found on the dirty ground, hiding his forehead.

The one who knocked seems to lose patience, so he ends up opening the door by using some sort of magic, Yao Qiu recognise golden magic, the one used by demon hunters. He knows it because, he was himself a demon hunter, before being transmigrated in this body, that he actually hates. After breaking down the door, a really nice-looking man, around the same age as Yao Qiu, enters the room, looking all around the place before noticing Yao Qiu, who is still on his knees. He approaches the demon master and says, with a lovely and careful voice :

-"Oh, sorry, I haven't heard you.."

He says, reaching out one of his hands, to help the newly demon master, but this one doesn't even take a look at the other's hand, and tries to get up by himself. But he accidentally slips on his own clothes making him fall, right before falling, the one who entered the house earlier catches Yao Qiu with high reflexes. They end up staring at each other's gaze for a very short amount of time, which strangely seems a little bit too long for Yao Qiu.

Indeed, the demon master's gaze was absorbed by the really beautiful face of the other one. At this moment, he silently thinks "Did I transmigrate as a gay person ? Or is he just really handsome ?", then he shakes his head and simply goes off from the other man's arms. The man notes :

-"Be careful, you seem to be a bit lost."

-"I'm okay, thanks. Uh.... who are you ?"

The man politely bows to Yao Qiu and says :

-"I am Lang Xinya, a demon hunter. What about you?"

Yao Qiu starts to panic but in a very discreet way so the one named Lang Xinya doesn't notice him. He is indeed panicking because he is now a demon master, he is in fact scared for his new life, scared to be instantly killed. But he manages to calm down, so he can talk normally :

-"My name is Yao Qiu, and wh.. what are you doing here ?"

Lang Xinya looks around the small room in which they are, as if he is looking for something specific, he quickly moves his gaze back to Yao Qiu and says :

-"I have been told that some demons are in this house... have you seen any weird things recently ?"

-"Erm.. no ! Nothing weird here ! I was just erm... just visiting the place !"

Right after Yao Qiu says that, a really weird sound comes from Yao Qiu's side of the room. Lang Xinya looks at Yao Qiu, frowning his eyebrows, then he says :

-"You must be really hungry to make such noises."

-"Yes, I do, but the sound wasn't from me.." Yao Qiu says, calmly.

Suddenly, a cracking sound comes from behind Yao Qiu, it comes from an old large wooden chest, the newly demon master gets no time to turn his head towards the sound that a demoninc creature comes out of the wooden chest and simply jumps over Yao Qiu, the latter is surprised. Indeed, the monster jumps on Lang Xinya, ignoring the other guy but Lang Xinya is already ready to fight, he takes off his sword and starts attacking. Without losing time he just punches the demon so hard that the creature just falls down, just in front of Yao Qiu's feet, but the beast isn't still dead, Lang Xinya doesn't know about it.

So the demon killer is casually approaching the beast, to see what kind of demon he just killed. He sees that the demon has a human shape, it is, in fact, a dead body, which has been possessed by a demon.

As the demon hunter arrives right in front of that beast, the thing just jumps on him by surprise and tries to attack him, so both Lang Xinya and the beast end up on the floor. The demon hunter tries to get the creature away from him but the more he tries, the more he fails, his energy is slowly being sucked away, this demon beast is really strong.

Yao Qiu attacks the demon as well, following his old instincts as he was previously a demon hunter as well. He gets on the demon's back and simply strangles it with his two bare hands since he has no weapon on him right now, he is trying his best to distract the beast. After feeling tickly because of Yao Qiu's hands, the demon stands up and tries to catch the one on his back, struggling. Now that Lang Xinya sees an opportunity to kill that beast, he gets up, takes his sword and approaches the demon, panting, the demon hunter finally kills the beast by violently piercing its chest with his sword.

The demon falls on its back, crushing Yao Qiu on the floor, right before evaporating and leaving only ashes and bones. So Yao Qiu, laying down on the floor, coughs because of all the ashes he has on his body and in his lungs.

While Yao Qiu is struggling, Lang Xinya mumbles, directly looking at the bones remaining form the demonic creature :

-"Where are you from ?.. And... who created you ? If you were created...."

A few more seconds after coughing, Yao Qiu gets up by himself and asks, as if he doesn't know anything :

-"What do you mean by created ? Those creatures are not coming naturally ?" Of course he knows that this human form of demon can only be created by the worst human beings, he knows almost everything about demons, thanks to his past life as a demon hunter.

-"You.. What were you doing ? You could have been killed !"

-"Why do you care ? And I saw that you may need help... sorry." Yao Qiu starts to speak angrily but suddenly calms down, realising he shouldn't eager the other one, scared to be killed once again.

Hearing Yao Qiu's honesty, Lang Xinya calms down :

-"Oh ok... but next time don't do that. You seem really.. basic and powerless, plus you don't have any weapons on you."

Yao Qiu is kind of surprised by what the other one just said but he keeps silent. After a few minutes Lang Xinya examining the bones left by the demonic beast, Yao Qiu approaches the door and says :

-"Yeah, so uh,... I feel hungry. Can we go and grab some food ?.."

The demon hunter accepts, then they walk outside of the house to discover that a dozen farmers are waiting for them in front of the door. Yao Qiu goes outside, slightly surprised by them, he just bows in front of them and starts walking away. At this right moment, one of the farmers asks Lang Xinya :

-"So.. did you kill it ?"

Lang Xinya bows at them, then turns towards the one who just spoke to answer them :

-"Yes ! It was just a demon."

Right after hearing that, the farmer takes a look at Yao Qiu, who is just waiting not far away from the small group of farmers. The farmer angrily exclaims, for absolutely no reason :

-"You !! All of this is because of you !"

Yao Qiu is in shook, he doesn't know how to react in front of that farmer, so he just says nothing and lets the farmer keeps talking :

-"Look at you ! You are the one who attracted the demon here ! You should do something ! Work for us !"

The farmer isn't totally wrong, Yao Qiu actually did attract the demon in this small village, due to his new demonic aura but he himself doesn't know about it, he knows things about demon masters but not everything.

Yao Qiu accepts to do what the farmer says, mainly to avoid any problems with them.

After hearing that, Lang Xinya is a bit confused, so he gives his opinion on the point :

-"It is not his fault. You can't force him to work for you. Plus he seems to not have a lot of energy..."

The farmer turns to face the one who just spoke, they angrily contradict :

-"Shut up ! You will help him as well !"

Right after they arrive at the small farmer's village, they are welcomed by some old women, handing them food. This group of women seems really happy to see new and young faces here, almost everyone in this village seem to be old.

While one of them is feeding Yao Qiu, the farmer who told him to work for them burst into anger and yells, with no reason :

-"Stop feeding that bastard ! He is the one who destroyed the house over there !" while pointing at the old and destroyed habitation, the one where they just came from.

Yao Qiu says nothing, afraid to be yelled at, plus he does not want to be the centre of attention. He indeed just came back to the world, he is still not really used to who he is now and of course he doesn't want to be killed that early.
