Mika started coming to one of the famous gay clubs he had found online a few times per week. From the moment he set foot inside, he could feel hungry gazes following him. He was aware of his good looks—standing 184cm tall, with ear piercings and a hair color that made him stand out, he knew he could easily attract someone if he wanted. But Mika had no intentions of talking to others or doing something he might regret later. At least, that was what he thought initially.
He drank a lot that night at the gay club after dancing like there was no tomorrow. Being exhausted mentally, his goal was to forget everything that was making him feel unhappy. Even though he managed to land his dream job and the project they were working on was progressing smoothly, he felt like his personal life was going nowhere.
He had no boyfriend.
No partner.
No one to love and no one who would love him unconditionally.
He was alone in a new city, leaving his family and friends in his home country. He called them almost every day and watched their faces on video, but that’s not the same as meeting them in person. After the end of each call, all that was left was silence. That kind of emptiness and loneliness was something he had never experienced before.
He had no intentions of picking up someone. But that day was different, and he was partially responsible for it.
If only he hadn't opened that application.
If only he hadn't checked Chris's profile.
If only he hadn't seen all the pictures Chris posted with that redhead guy he kissed back then in the alley.
If only he hadn’t zoomed in and noticed that they were in Chris’s bed. The very same bed that Mika used to spend so many nights in.
The wound that seemed to have healed opened again.
All Mika wanted was to erase the bad memories and thoughts that were haunting him every day. He didn’t know why, but he decided that alcohol would be perfect for that. One after another, the number of empty glasses quickly filled the space before him.
He was sitting alone in the corner when a stranger approached him and sat next to him.
“Hey, honey. I saw you’re coming here often.”
”...”
”I like the way you dance. Your moves are so fine.”
“…”
At first, Mika wasn't paying any attention to what he was saying, but that didn’t discourage the other guy. He kept talking and talking. Mika was about to tell him to mind his own business, but then he heard that one question that changed everything…
“Are you lonely?”
…followed by the words whispered seductively into his ear, “I can help you forget.”
That night, he was more than lonely. He felt abandoned and miserable.
After taking a quick peek at him, Mika changed his mind.
Anyone... Anyone will do.
Mika took the last sip of alcohol before he stood up and grabbed the man’s wrist. "Come with me," he said. The other man had been anticipating this moment, and with a mischievous smile, helped Mika, who could barely walk and was stumbling with each step, reach the toilet.
Mika thought he would never cross the line, but here he was - kissing a stranger in one of the toilet stalls. He didn’t bother to ask him about his name or what kind of job he was doing. It was all insignificant at that time.
At this very moment, all Mika wanted was to be embraced by someone and feel the warmth. The warmth that he needed so desperately that he was willing to do things he would never imagine doing.
A kiss made him forget about reality. The man knew what to do as he immediately stuck his tongue between Mika’s lips. He then shoved it harder inside, making Mika open his mouth wider. Mika had no intention of stopping him. He allowed himself to enjoy the moment of pleasure and willingly let the other man take the lead.
