Lang Xinya is now walking to the living room of the manor, it takes a few seconds. He apprehends how his family members will look at him or even talk to him. But only his younger brother, the one who saw the thing happening, comes to him and speaks in a really discreet way, to not panic him. His brother says, with a soft voice :

-"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what happened in that room. By the way, I.. I support you."

He confesses as if he is hiding something as well then he simply walks away, to the dinner table. But Lang Xinya is more worried about whether his brother saw that Yao Qiu is a demon master or not, he does not want Yao Qiu to die before knowing what is wrong with his glowing hands.

Lang Xinya ends up sitting at the wooden table with the other demon hunters and demon killers. He is sitting next to his sister, the latter is indeed still happy to see him. The demon hunter takes some time to look at every of his family members but no one seems to suspect him of anything. They are now waiting for Lang Xinya's friend to come.

After only a few short seconds, Yao Qiu finally gets out of the bedroom, still hiding his forehead's tattoo with the same long piece of fabric. He walks to the living room in a pretty timid way, everyone is looking at his new outfit. Lang Jilpa comments on it first :

-"You gave him your most expensive hanfu ?!"

-"He chose it." Lang Xinya simply replies, hoping his mother won't make Yao Qiu take off his outfit in front of everyone to change it.

-"I told you to keep it when you are on a date with your future wife ! Do not give it to a man !"

-"Don't worry mom, he'll give it back later."

Not knowing where to sit, Yao Qiu ends up sitting between Lang Xinya's sister and father. It is the only spot left, despite the table being huge enough for way more people, the wooden furniture is all covered in different types of food. Showing that this family is rich. Too rich.

The demon hunter's sister, Lang Meiying, looks at Yao Qiu for a bit before smiling in a dumb way and putting some food in his plate. Now, Lang Xinya's father turns to face the demon master, he asks :

-"So, Yao Qiu ? What do you think of my daughter ?" The elder one is obviously trying to get her daughter married with any guy they encounter, it is in fact not his first time asking that question to a random guy.

Yao Qiu almost chokes, in his past life he would have said that his daughter is attractive but in this life... he doesn't feel anything looking at her. She is just pretty. The demon master doesn't answer that question, instead, he just turns his head to look at the young woman and he just smiles.

The rest of the dinner is cheerfully spent, everyone around this table has something to say, but not Yao Qiu. He only spoke while being in Lang Xinya's bedroom, indeed he doesn't want to risk saying unintentional things about demonism. Let's remember that this mansion is full of demon hunters and demon killers.

After the dinner, the only ones staying around the table are Lang Xinya's siblings and Yao Qiu. The demon master doesn't feel really good about this situation, he also noticed that the demon hunter's brother was the one opening the bedroom's door earlier. Yao Qiu is more worried about him potentially seeing his demonic tattoos.

While the three of them are still sitting at the table, Lang Xinya is standing outside of the mansion, with his mother. He has some questions about the marks he saw earlier on Yao Qiu's chest. He asks his mother because she is a demon killer and these marks were obviously made by a demon killer trying to get rid of Yao Qiu.

Lang Xinya thinks the demon master survived the torture imposed by a demon killer. So he asks without giving a lot of details on his request :

-"Three dots on a demon master's heart means death by torture, right ?"

Lang Jilpa simply nods, then she asks :

-"That's right but why would you ask ? You're a simple demon hunter. You'll never have to kill one of those bastards."

-"I know. I just wanted to be sure. And erm... I heard that it is possible to be six dots, what does that mean ?"

-"Well, it is a particularly rare case to see six dots on a demon master's dead body. It means that they have a blood link with a superior entity. So to kill them three small golden nails are needed more than the three long ones."

Is Yao Qiu really linked to a superior entity ? To a god ? And, if he was tortured TO DEATH, why is he not dead ? Is it because he is blood linked to a superior entity ? That is all what Lang Xinya is thinking right now, eyes wide open. His mother instantly notices it, she asks :

-"What ? What's wrong ?"

-"N... Nothing, it's just that I didn't know that demon masters could be linked to superior entities."

The night is slowly coming, they are both admiring the sunset after that short talk. Lang Xinya's mind is full of questions about Yao Qiu, the question he really wants an answer to is "Why is he still alive if he has been tortured to death ?" The demon hunter doesn't even think about transmigration or something like this since he doesn't believe in it.

After a few more minutes admiring the sun disappearing below the horizon, someone yells in the house, calling for help :

-"Brother ! Your friend is unconscious !" Lang Meiying runs to the demon hunter to tell him about Yao Qiu.

In Yao Qiu's head, he is back in that dark and round room, but this time it is slightly different, he isn't in the past anymore, he seems to be in the present. The dead body isn't on the floor anymore, so it MUST be happening in the present, while he is unconscious.

After realising that, he looks in front of him, Xia Zhi is standing there, arms crossed, she smiles :

-"So, I saved you from an awkward moment ?"

The demon master hesitates, then he answers :

-"Erm... Yes. How do you know ?"

-"I saw it."

She simply replies, Yao Qiu asks why, so she keeps talking :

-"I found another way to interrupt you from time to time. I just use some dark magic to see what you see."

The demon master is surprised and instantly remembers about all those moments he was cloth naked so he instinctively covers his private parts and yells out of surprise. But Xia Zhi tries to reassure him :

-"Nah. Don't worry about that. I'm really not into guys." She mimics an X with her hands when saying this sentence, then she keeps talking, adding something Yao Qiu isn’t really happy to hear about, "And erm... I saw that you are pretty into men."

-"What ?! So you are always spying on me ??"

A small argument happens between them two. But it's nothing really serious. It's just Yao Qiu being in denial about who he is attracted to in this life. Then Yao Qiu suddenly changes the conversation by asking :

-"By the way. Why did you make me faint ? Just to 'save me' from that awkward moment ? And to inform me that you are spying on me ?"

She just nods, approving what the demon master just said. Yao Qiu faints and suddenly disappears from this weird looking room, Xia Zhi has no time to talk more. She is a bit startled.

Yao Qiu is now back to reality, he is laying down on a comfortable mattress. He looks around and sees that he is back in Lang Xinya's room, but he seems to be alone in it. The demon master feels like something is missing on his head, so he touches his forehead and doesn't feel the piece of cloth he tighten here to hide his forehead tattoo. He indeed starts to panic alone in this room.

Happily, as said before, no one is in the room, so he gets up, struggling a bit, in order to find something to hide his forehead with. He searches all around the room, then stops at a desk, he sees two opened books.

He takes one out of curiosity and reads the title 'Torturing demon masters until irreversible death, volume 2'. After reading its title, he almost throws the book back on the desk, he keeps wondering "Is he really planning to kill me ?? Did he accept that kiss just for me to trust him so he can hurt me easily afterwards ?"

The demon master finally finds something to hide his forehead. At this exact moment the door opens to let Lang Xinya enter, Yao Qiu stays on his guards towards him because of the book he just found. The demon hunter is obviously seeing that Yao Qiu's behaviour is different from before, despite knowing each other for only a few weeks.

So the demon hunter closes the door and slowly approaches, trying to not scare the one at the other side of the room but he is just walking weirdly so it seems just creepy. Yao Qiu tells without exclamation to not be heard by the other people in this mansion :

-"I knew it ! You want to kill me !"

At first, Lang Xinya is confused about what the demon master just said, then he realises that the demon master is standing close to the desk where the books are wide opened. So he simply explains :

-"Oh that ! No, it's not what you think it is. I was just trying to know why you are still alive despite being tortured to death and I maybe know what can be linked to it !"

Yao Qiu finishes by faking being interested in what Lang Xinya is about to say despite being intrigued to know if the demon hunter suspects Yao Qiu to be a soul transmigrated in a demon master's body. So he just slowly downs his guard. Lang Xinya walks to the demon master while explaining what his mother just told him :

-"The six dots on your chest means that you are linked to a superior entity. So that's maybe why you didn't die when being tortured."

The demon master's eyebrows frown, he doesn't know himself that he is linked to an entity this important, the goddess of dark magic never mentioned such a thing before. So he innocently asks :

-"What ? How is it possible ?"

-"I don't know but we'll find out tomorrow at your house. You may have some stuff that can help us know about that."

-"But what if the demon god attacks again ? We need to find them first to stop them."

They talk again for a bit before deciding to go to sleep, one on the bed, the other on a sofa in the bedroom.
