On the next day, in the morning, they are both walking to Yao Qiu's house. The demon master is leading the way. He automatically walks through a path, as if it is printed in his brain even though he actually doesn't know where he is going. It is a bright day, really sunny and pretty hot, it is still summer.

After some dozens of minutes, while they are still walking, they hear a cracking sound coming from inside of the forest. They assume it is coming from a wild animal. So they keep walking for a few metres before hearing a more suspicious sound, Lang Xinya slowly approaches some bushes to discreetly look at what where the sound is coming from.

As he sees a calm human looking beast, he softly gasps. If he reacted like that, it means that he never saw a creature like that before. The creature looks exactly like a human but a weird dark fog is coming out of its skin, it also seems like the human is getting possessed but it is not fully unconscious, it also has... small dark wings coming out of its upper back ?

Curious, Yao Qiu gets closer as well, so he ends up beside the demon hunter, but Yao Qiu slips on something and falls on the demon hunter's back. But Lang Xinya has no reaction but a simple "shhh" while examining the creature in front of them. They are now both laying down under a bush, discreetly looking at the creature.

Despite his past life as a demon hunter, Yao Qiu doesn't know what the creature in front of them is, so he simply quietly asks :

-"What is that ?"

Lang Xinya takes some time to answer, he isn't sure about what it is as well but the only thing he knows is that it is a creature linked to demonism, so he answers :

-"I don't know either but it is linked to demonism. By the way, how could you not know about this creature ? You are a demon master." The demon hunter looks at Yao Qiu's eyes, as if it is a really serious question.

-"I just don't know. It might be some new creature. Maybe one sent by Pan Rong."

Right after saying the name of the demon god, the creature growls a bit, as if it reacted to that name. So this creature must have been created by them, this is what Lang Xinya thinks right now.

The beast is slowly walking to the bush they are hiding in, Yao Qiu is afraid to die right now, so he breathes irregularly. The demon hunter puts one of his hands right on Yao Qiu's mouth and softly "shhh" once more. He wants to observe the creature before trying to kill it, he needs to know what its weaknesses are to beat it more easily since it is a new creature to him.

The creature is now really close to the bush but before doing anything it hears another noise, so it turns around instantly, the noise is a small wild animal. By the way, the demonic creature rushes to the small animal in a flash and starts to attack it.

Claws come out of the creature that looks like an angel thanks to its small wings. The beast violently smashes the poor animal, the poor thing doesn't have time to make a move that it is already impaled on the creature's claws. It is now eating the animal.

Sometimes some yells are heard from the demonic beast, as if something was fighting it from the inside, it is obviously not fully possessed, as said before.

Lang Xinya suddenly has an idea so he talks to the demon master :

-"Hey, Yao Qiu. Since you are a demon master, you can approach that demonic beast. Demons never try to kill you, right ?"

Yao Qiu takes some time to think about it, he remembers from his past life that demons ALWAYS tried to kill or even hurt him. That's even the way he died, by a demon, by the god demon themself. But Yao Qiu doesn't want to and cannot reveal that he transmigrated or he'll die for sure again.

After remembering that since the beginning of his new life no demonic creatures attacked him, he answers to Lang Xinya :

-"You are right. I never got attacked by any demonic related creature."

Then he gets up, still discreetly and he quietly approaches, the beast is still eating the poor small animal it just killed, barehanded. Seeing that the beast isn't reacting to the one getting closer, the demon master decides to walk even more closer. Of course, Lang Xinya is ready to react in case the beast attacks Yao Qiu by surprise.

The demon master is now only a very few metres away from the dark foggy creature, it doesn't move. Realising that he isn't being attacked, Yao Qiu has an excess of confidence, so he steps closer, he is now right beside the beast.

He can hear its breath, really heavy and not regular, as if it was fighting but it is standing still. It is pretty weird. By the way, if he listens carefully to the breath of the beast, he can hear some calls of help from time to time. To hear those calls of help he gets a bit closer to the beast, he shouldn't have done that.

The beast turns its head to face Yao Qiu, then it grabs the demon master by the collar. Lang Xinya doesn't react right now, he wants to see how the demonic beast can react to an actual demon master.

The demon master starts to panic despite him trying to hide it as much as he can. The possessed human smells at Yao Qiu's clothes but, unfortunately, it is a demon hunter's clothes so it does smell like a demon hunter.

Anyone who is a demon hunter, a demon killer, a demon master or even a demonic beast can smell each other's scent. Yao Qiu is used to the smell of demon hunters since he was one in his first life, so he is used to it and didn't notice that his clothes smell like this.

The demonic beast realises the man who approached him smells like a demon hunter, so he must be a demon hunter. The creature starts to growl, then it violently throws Yao Qiu on the floor before rushing to him and starting to use its claws on him. Blood comes out of Yao Qiu.

It all happened in a really short amount of time, Lang Xinya reacts only when the demon master is already hurt. The demon hunter runs to the beast, yelling to get its attention and already holding his sword.

The possessed human turns its head again and sees Lang Xinya from really close, the demon hunter stabs the beast in the abdomen with his sword but the beast dodges it really easily and really quickly. That creature is really fast.

Yao Qiu is still laying down on the floor, damaged and bleeding mainly on his upper body part. He is suffering and losing blood. He growls out of pain, trying to ask Lang Xinya to quickly get rid of this beast so he can help and heal him. Lang Xinya is struggling to fight the beast, he is trying to not get hurt by it, it would be dramatic if the two men end up hurt or even dead right now. It feels like they are losing.

The demon hunter is about to give up on his life because he thinks the creature is so powerful that nobody can hurt or even control it. So Lang Xinya just decides to yell as loud as he can in hope of being helped by anyone. Happily, someone is passing by at this exact moment, it is an opportunity for the two men to get saved !

A woman approaches, curious about all the yells so she looks through the bushes, the fight is happening in a small area next to the forest's path. The woman is surprised by the beast she is looking at right now, it seems like she knows exactly what this creature is, so she must know how to defeat it. She walks through the bushes to end up a dozen of metres away from Lang Xinya trying to hold the beast away from him.

-"Hey ! Leave him alone !" She yells to the beast, trying to get its attention, it weirdly works. The demonic creature is now looking right at the young woman, she seems to be the same age as the two men struggling to fight the beast.

When the creature approaches her, she takes out a flute decorated with a talisman, a motionless one. It means that the talisman freezes its target. The woman starts to play the flute, she plays a soft song. While she is doing that Lang Xinya runs to Yao Qiu, despite being tired of this fight.

The demon master is still on the floor, struggling to stay awake and about to faint because of the pain and because of all the blood he lost, he didn't lose that much blood but enough to make him faint at any time. Lang Xinya is right beside Yao Qiu, he holds him and tries to heal him with some of his golden powers but since he isn't a healer his magic isn't really helping. The demon hunter keeps using his magic on the demon master, as if he is emotionally too attached to him.

-"I... I don't want to die... Again." Yao Qui mutters in pain.

-"...What ? What did you say ?" Lang Xinya has a hard time hearing what the demon master just said since the woman is still playing flute while the beast is growling.

By the way, the beast can't move anymore thanks to the woman, she shortly stops playing after she sees the demonic creature not moving anymore. It is not dead, just frozen. It still breathes heavily and loudly. The woman walks around the beast to examine it and to be sure it is what she thinks it is :

-"I knew it. So, you are an angel of darkness... Did they really send you there to kill those armless men ?"

When hearing that, Lang Xinya turns his head, still using his golden magic on Yao, he talks to the woman :

-"Armless men ? Have you seen me ? And who are you ?"

She looks at the demon hunter, he indeed has a sword right next to him, laying uselessly on the floor. Then she finally notices the one dying on the grass, so she gets closer.

-"Just call me Liao Bo. Your friend got hurt by the angel of darkness, right ?" She comes and kneels next to Yao Qiu, in front of Lang Xinya.

She starts removing the demon master's clothes from his torso to see the damages caused by the creature but Lang Xinya instantly grabs her hands and violently asks :

-"What are you doing ?!"

-"Hey calm down, I just want to check how bad it is."

The demon hunter is in fact scared that Liao Bo sees that the one suffering on the floor is an actual demon master since the demon hunter thinks the one in front of him is a demon killer. But seeing his friend almost dead on the floor makes him realise that Yao Qiu really needs help, so he just lets Liao Bo hands in order to take one of Yao Qiu's while still holding him from the back of the neck.

After seeing the two men holding hands, Liao Bo instantly thinks that Lang Xinya and Yao Qiu are in a special relationship, so she tries to reassure the demon hunter :

-"I won't hurt your husband. I'm, in fact, a healer." She doesn't say more about herself, even though she has a lot more to say. But she won't open up like that to those two strangers.

Lang Xinya says nothing, he just hopes his friend can be fully healed and quickly. Liao Bo opens Yao Qiu's hanfu to see the damages on his torso. She notices that she has to heal a demon master but she doesn't care, she just has to heal a human like another one.

After examining the wounds for a bit she decides that they need to go, first to a safer place, then in a place they can spend more than one day. So she orders Lang Xinya to transport his "husband" as she calls him. Happily the demon master is almost unconscious, he would have panicked so much hearing this word.

While they are all going away to heal the demon master, the creature is still not moving, the woman healer didn't forget it, of course, she'll come back to it right after finishing to heal the poor one who's almost dead.

After a few times walking, they all end up in a cave, it is big enough for them three and it is inhabited, it would have been unfortunate to meet a bear right now. Yao Qiu is now laying down on the hard floor, he starts shaking so Lang Xinya takes off a layer of his own clothes to cover a part of Yao Qiu's body while Liao Bo is healing him.

They have to stay in this cave for a bit, to let Yao Qiu some time to heal, at least a bit.
