Skyler was just pressing in the code and it was  about  to open the locker then alarms blared. Surprising Skyler a lot she covered her ears protecting them from the alarm through the vault. 

  “What’s going on Hannah?” Skyler asked, concerned that she did something wrong. “Nothing to worry about Skyler, it’s probably a drill.” She replied pointing at a poster that told them that the firm had scheduled days for drills. 

“I see,” Skyler said relieved, that she didn’t do anything wrong. That took a weight off her shoulders and then she turned back to the locker and reached for the door and pulled on it harshly. “God it’s heavy!” She grunted and Hannah chuckled “are you supposed to be a protector?” 

“I’m not a protector yet I’m in training” Skyler said breathing heavily, “and your supervisor is my boyfriend right?” Hannah said annoyed “yes, why aren’t you helping?  Skyler looked back and her face was completely red.

“I  thought I was your client,” Skyler pleaded at Hannah and she sighed and came next to her and got hold of it “im, just helping you since you’re my client” she said snarling at her. Both of them pulled on it and the heavy door opened while the floor splashed onto them. 

“Damm it, we’re both soaked!” Skyler groaned and Hannah just nodded agreeing to Skyler’s remark. Skyler walked into the room and to her surprise a scroll in a leather bound sleeve that had a crescent moon imprinted upon it. “What’s this?” Skyler thought to herself as she reached for it and grabbed it carefully, and brought it to the table, which was outside the vault. 

Skyler placed it and unbound the string that kept it shut. She pulled out the scroll, and saw the words of it which her eyes widened “the eclipse blade” she whispered. “There was a document.” She smiled happily. She read as thoroughly and carefully as she could. 

“It tells how to use my blood as a catalyst for a compass” she thought and was surprised at how intricate the process was to do it. “So is this right I need to put it in a circle dish and it will make it into an arrow towards the sword” she continued to think and got absorbed by it. 

“This is a lot,” she said, muttering under her breath. She put the scroll back into the leather sleeve and tied the string back up. “Thanks mum,” she shakily said. The room suddenly went dark, “what this?” She said waving her hand in front of her but she couldn’t see it. “Why are the lights off?” Skyler asked. 

“I don’t know,” Hannah said, stuttering, then touches flashed around outside the door. Light never came close to the room of vaults that they were in. “Shit what’s going on?” Skyler thought and placed her hand towards her left and felt the wall. “Yes,” she said softly. 

She knew that she couldn’t count on her magic since there were no shadows for her to control. So she slowly used the nonexistent walls,  the slimy feeling from it made her shiver. “Hannah, stay here.” Skyler said softly

She stumbled out of the door,  the moonlight shone through the windows “it was morning how is it night?”  She clapped her hands and her eyes changed to purple and purple colours came from her hair as well. 

“Here we go!” She said and rushed to a torchbearer and grabbed their collar and threw him through the doors to the stairwell. Then she jumped and  kicked him down the gap and looked at the floor that was coming faster and faster. 

She kicked him again and used him as a cushion for her landing. “One down.” She looked at the bloody unconscious man under her. The wind of the impact blew the door open and the smoke billowed out of it. 

She walked slowly out her hands covered in mist and her eyes glowed a brilliant purple. “Skyler?” Justin said and “yup” she replied “why are you here I thought you were at” Skyler shook her head “not now” she said Justin nodded agreeing to what Skyler said. 

“Skyler, let me show what I can do” he said while grabbing his bone gun and pointing it at his temple. “Strength exchange” he shouted and pulled the trigger as his eyes glowed dark green. His muscles grew, then he rushed at one of the members and punched them with force that they flew across the hall to the other side and splashed into the water. 

“Wowzer” Skyler thought surprised at what Justin did. Justin arm got chained by water a voice from behind Skyler spoke up “posideon’s bind” they janked it and Justin stumbled a bit since his artificial mucles were quite heavy for him. 

The bunny masked jammed the pole of his spear into Justin’s stomach but it did nothing to him since his stomach was like metal. “I see you're a necromancer  using those contracts with the dead to get abilities” he asked curiously. 

Justin looked at him grinning “correct” he said and the bunny masked man nodded “so protector what’s your name?” He asked calmly “moonlight” Justin replied with his surname not his first name 

“Moonlight, like the family who disappeared in that fire 10 years ago” he leered curiously watching Justin’s every motion “why aren’t you attacking mr.moonlight?” He asked. 

“Yes,” Justin said, biting his lip, making it bleed. He tried to grab the chain on his left arm with his other hand but it just went through it. Then he jumped and the chain retracted bringing Justin to the chainer. 

He used the momentum  that he gained to punch them and when his fist collided with them it made a shockwave and made cracks in the ground. “Very impressive, Mr. Moonlight” the bunny mask said

Justin started to breathe heavily and his eyes started to flicker from the dark green hue. “I believe that’s my cue,” the masked bunny said, moving to the side and showing both Skyler and Justin the scroll that Skyler had in the vault.  

Also he showed Hannah tied with a collar around her neck  that had holes where leather belts came out of her forearms were parallel high behind her  back and securely, against her body. Then more went around her body with the two ends secured to each other using buckles.

The straps went above and below her chest, creating a form of chest bondage. She had a further belt around her waist. The strap ran straight between her legs and connected it to her forearms creating a harness. Finally she had a black silicon ball that was in her mouth. 

“This girl is coming with us since she had the scroll miss amberlight,” he said laughing and walking back towards the door with Hannah in tow. “Let her go!” Justin yelled and started to run towards them reaching out towards Hannah, the masked bunny pulled Hannah to him and elbowed Justin breaking his nose. 

Blood rushed down his chin which hit the floor, but Justin didn’t care his focus was Hannah and getting her to safety. “Hang on miss” he yelled out and tried to sweep their legs but the masked person jumped and bridal carried Hannah in his arms.  

Justin leaned onto the floor and used his legs to kick him then used his arms to push himself off and wrapped his legs around the bunny’s torso, but the bunny threw Hannah to another gang member, while he did that Hannah screamed but was muffled due to the gag. 

Justin cupped his hands together and forced them straight down on their face, which cracked the mask “you shouldn’t have done that protector!” He growled and the bunny twisted his body which made Justin lose his grip and fell hard onto the ground. 

Justin bounced up, coughed up air and landed back onto the floor. Then the bunny stomped onto his stomach with their two feet. His eyes glowed yellow and then his hand glowed and put it in front of his face. 

Justin screamed in pain and his eyes started to bleed. “Flash light” the bunny said menacingly and then pushed the light more into his face. Justin’s vision was pure white, nothing else just blankness like an empty canvas. 

Skyler punched the bunny on his face and he skidded off Justin and grabbed the floor slowing his skid. “So who are you? interrupting this battle.” He snarled and stood up cracking his fingers “ you don’t seem like a protector” he said 

“Well your half right mate” Skyler chuckled and her eyes flashed purple and her ends of her hair sparked purple like a fire. “I see an umbra user” he muttered, he dashed towards her with incredible speed and threw a punch. 

“Skyler, dodge!” A voice ringed out in her head and she dodged “don’t do that” skyler thought knowing it was the blade speaking. She used his speed against him by tripping him, making him skid onto his belly and face, burning him and destroying his mask. To Justin’s shock when he saw their face it made him feel so sick inside 

“Daniel what happened?” Justin asked, standing up staring  at the ash haired man who was next to the broken bunny mask. Their green eyes were so tired and bags underneath their eyes. “You did,” he said, putting up the middle finger at Justin. 

“What?” Justin asked he was confused since the last time he saw Daniel serving his family in their mansion “when you’re father and mother died in that house fire,” he started to tear up “people blamed me, for that fire since I used to spend a lot of time with you” 

Justin's eyes widened, forgetting that he and his sister were the only few survivors at that retirement party. For his father being the commander for the protectors for 10 years. “So you survived to get accused?” Justin asked and Daniel nodded and he frowned “I’m glad you survived but I hate you for it as well” he yelled then smashing a flask of some substance and smoke covered the area. 

When it dispersed Daniel was gone so too was the gang and Hannah. “Damm it!” Justin yelled, punching the ground tears swelled up in his eyes. “I didn’t know and sorry Hannah” Justin whispered that no one could hear. “Justin?” Skyler gently asked and he looked up to her soft gaze 

“We don’t need that surveillance shit” she said arrogantly that she knows that she is doing “Skyler we do need to” he retorted, Skyler just shook her head “remember collars” she said pointing out that they used the protector’s property “GPS…” Justin muttered 

Skyler helped him stand and they went out of the building to see many cars and people with badges coming up the stairs “protector moonlight you okay” a elegant lady walked up to them her hair waved in the wind 

She wore a blue and red suit with a purple tie. Her lean body showed that she could defend herself easily, Skyler ogled her for too long and got noticed by the woman. “And who is this, red hair blue eyes black crop top” she murmured not impressed with Skyler’s clothes. 

“Oh your new trainee I saw the form” she quickly said before Justin even told her. “Skyler amberlight right” she asked and Skyler just nodded still day dreaming about the woman in front of her. “My name is Claire lignum” she reached out her hand to grab Skyler’s and Skyler held onto it and shook. 

“Anyway,” she coughed and held Justin’s body while Skyler let go “I’m his boss so, you’ll have to go back home or the hotel you're staying at since you're still a civilian.” Claire said and Skyler  nodded and went like she was in a trance.

When Skyler got back to her bed and laid down on it “god that woman” she thought but shook her head and got out of her bed, went out of her room to Justin’s unlocking it by lock picking it. Since Justin trained her earlier. 

She opened it slowly but surely until she was fully into his room “sorry Justin,  but I want to help.” she said going towards his laptop that was on the desk. She turned it on and saw that it was locked. “Dammit” she thought she remembered a trick that she used to do when her father forgot his watch’s password. 

She grabbed a dusty, duster that was still here from the cleaners which stepped out moments ago “I need to be fast!” She muttered, and began to wipe it against the keyboard.  Then Skyler saw some dark spots from the dust, on the keyboard. She pressed them “Really,Justin,really!” She thought as she looked at the letters in the password box which said moonlight, she sighed and groaned “a protector using his last name as a password is so stupid!” She sighed annoyed that Justin had a stupidly easy password

The laptop’s desktop was so cluttered, with documents and folders. Skyler didn’t know what folder with the tracker application was in. The only thing that was different was the names. Most of them had code that started with 02 and counted upwards 

She felt something while hovering the cursor on a certain folder. She felt it was the one so she opened it and the application was in it which made Skyler feel relieved and excited because she didn’t want to take longer than she should on Justin’s laptop.

Like she was invading his privacy but she was already which made her feel uncomfortable. She clicked on the application and saw many different coloured spots around a map. “This is a needle in a haystack.” She muttered and started to press on the icons on the left and many one disappeared, “so the colours indicate the user of a certain magic” she thought going through the buttons and came across an icon that said recently activated. 

“Sweet” she shouted, pumping the air. She saw a red icon going through the city in the aqua sector. “Okay, where are you going?” she muttered keeping track of the blinking light until it stopped out near the border of the aqua sector. It was indicating an industrial port.

She quickly jotted the address down on her watch and gently shut the laptop down and closed its lid. She went out of the room trying not to disturb anything more. When she was walking down the hallway to her bedroom Justin came up and said “let’s find her!” He said while walking to his room and Skyler followed him in. 

“I will show you how we keep an eye on all the prisoners we have,” he said, turning on his laptop and opening the same exact application that Skyler used earlier. “These icons on the map are the different magic users” she nodded and “those buttons are to narrow the range of those icons” 

“I see” she added and Justin got to the section where Skyler found Hannah’s collar. “The abandoned mall i should have guessed since it’s a cliche in books” he chuckled and wrote down the address. 

“Now we need to wait for backup” he said looking Skyler in the eye “since it’s unknown territory and if we go there now as we are we might be ambushed and killed.” He explained to her the dangers of going alone which made Skyler feel uncomfortable about waiting since every second counted “but” she tried to speak up but Justin just shook his head “no too dangerous” he retorted 

Skyler clenched her hand and grinded her teeth, getting more angry for not doing anything like the couple she couldn’t save because she was scared but now she just felt guilt. Every time she tries to save people they end up dying. 

“No more” she muttered and ran out of the room and Justin chased after her “skyler stop” he shouted loudly, Skyler ignored him and used the shadows to create a sword and broke through a window and landed onto her bike “sorry but i can’t stand still” she said while quickly putting on her gear and drove off.
