According to all the sources I read up on Kang Jun-seok, he is known as the handsome man with a cold heart. What did Hia even find in him?

Turning back to Ms. Choi, I simply nodded, then proceeded to put on the accessories gifted by Jun-seok. I looked at the mirror, impressed by Jun-seok's taste. Ms. Choi had a look of satisfaction in her eyes. "I knew what I was doing."

"I can tell. Thank you for your help as always," I replied with a smile, giving her a hug. "As much as I feel glamorous, I need some food please."

"You haven't eaten at all since breakfast, sorry. Let's head out quickly now, and grab some takeaways. I am giving you an exception today."

I beamed, nodding as I went out of my room alongside Ms. Choi. Takeaways allowed by your manager was a dream. I guess Hia knew her body well, she is trusted that she will get back in shape in time for the next photoshoot. Ms. Choi went to the other room to change into the outfit she bought herself that Hia allowed her to keep in her mansion and came out, her outfit professional with a touch of accessories there and there – something she never does except for events such as these.

AT THE GALA EVENT

The biggest gala events of all time – the Midnight Summer Serenade event. Only the top celebrities and models get invited. Hia became eventually known as the consistent attendee of the MSS event.

"Remember, don't entertain paparazzi's questions about your sudden reappearance. If pressured, rather say you wanted to take a break and apologize for leaving without a trace. You can do that, right?"

"Of course, Ms. Choi," I replied, looking out at the red carpet waiting for us to walk on, "I never disappoint."

"Good."

Stepping out, all the camera lights were flashing at me. "I looked at a few cameras before heading inside. The interior of the convention center owned by Northern Sky Clothing was stunning as always. They were also known for their unique decorations every year the MSS is hosted.

Just then, a tall figure stood right next to me, his arm wrapped around my shoulders. I looked up, only to find out it was him. My fiancé.

Kang Jun-seok.

"You disappeared for a long time," he said, as photos of us were being taken, many excited and happy for the couple reunion, obviously wanting to boost their article readership. It didn't matter though, that was the life of being famous; a celebrity.

"I needed some time to breathe."

"Breathe? You were gone for a whole year, Hia. What was I supposed to think?"

And it's true when they say Kang Jun-seok is a man with a handsome face but with a cold heart. Was this the treatment Hia had to go through?

"Then you clearly don't know me then. You know I was at the Kim private beach all along, yet you didn't bother coming to see me, let alone call me. I should apologize for taking time for myself?"

Would Hia even talk back to her fiancé?

He turned to me, intrigued. "You are different."

I flinched, but quickly composed myself. No one could find out I am not Kim Hia. "What do you mean?"

"I mean what I said," he whispered into my ear. "The Kim Hia I know would simply suck it up and go for what I say, but the one in front of me..."

After taking one last photo, he pulled me to an isolated corner, caging me on the wall like it was some way to test me.

"I have no idea what you are saying. Maybe the break did me some good," I counterargued. "What's the problem love? Got a problem?"

"No, I don't," he replied his face inches away from mine. "But I do know one thing is certain."

"You are not Kim Hia."

Silence. The lively atmosphere in the auditorium in the background. Just when I thought I covered my tracks so well, I was caught still. I clenched my hands behind me. I couldn't defend myself at the point, at least yet.

"Sorry to destroy your fantasy, but this is the new me. The new Kim Hia. I am everyone's jewel Kang Jun-seok," I replied, moving away from the wall, "No one, not even you, will stop me or destroy the fanbase I worked hard to grow."

Walking past him, I went back to join Ms. Choi but was stopped once more by another tall figure.

"I can see the break did you good if you can stand up to cold-hearted Kang Jun-seok..."
