"Hey, Lee Surin!"
My original name. Lee Surin.
Everyone looked at me with confusion, and I shared in the same confusion. Hyunjin was doing this on purpose, and the second person to know my secret. Hyunjin came forward, apologizing to everyone for the name confusion. Jun-seok, letting go of my hand, went to my arms, as if protecting me from Hyunjin or from any harm's way.
All fake pretend, just to keep the media off our lives.
Just as we arrived outside the convention center, flashlights were all over us. Jun-seok quickly escorted me to his car instead, but because of the cameras, I had to follow through. Hyunjin invited himself in, which surprisingly Jun-seok didn't stop him.
"You are acting weird yourself," I spoke. "I didn't know you and Hyunjin grew close..."
"We are not."
I nodded, taking out my phone to see messages from Ms. Choi.
"Hia?!"
"You went with Jun-seok, right?"
"Please respond."
"Is that Ms. Choi?" Kang Jun-seok asked, flinching at his voice.
"Yes," I replied. "I will be done just now-"
"No need to. We will talk when we get home."
"Your home?"
"Who else's?"
Not wanting to argue further, I quickly replied Ms. Choi, who I can tell immediately fell at ease after hearing my whereabouts. Being in Kim Hia's life was tough. Good partnerships along with a cold fiancé and a cocky friend of an actor.
We stopped by the traffic light when I caught sight of the newly opened restaurant. I stared at the building, wondering if Hia would enjoy such. But there was no longer a point in pretending. They both knew who I was.
I turned to Jun-seok. "Can we please-"
"To the restaurant there please," he told the driver. My heart skipped a beat. I was just about to speak but he beat me to it. Tucking some strands of my hair behind my ear, I refused all eye contact with him – any of them.
"You wanted to try it, no?" Jun-seok asked.
I nodded, "Yes. Thank you."
The car came to a stop, and I opened the door when Jun-seok stopped me, taking my wrist. Slowly reaching his gaze, I asked, "You don't want me to go?"
"Dangers could lurk anywhere-"
"You are Hia's fiancé all along, right? You will do it for me, right?"
Not saying another word, he let go of my wrist and I walked to the restaurant. Stepping in, I felt the warmth and coziness of the place. Luckily, there were a few people and some of them were families, which was nice.
"It's Kim Hia, Mommy!" I heard one whisper, which wasn't a whisper though. Everyone turned to me, some in awe, others in shock. It must be the first time Hia steps in here I guess. I turned to the cashier and asked for the pen. Giving everyone an autograph, I then ordered for a strawberry milkshake.
"Thank you," I said, after it was ready in minutes.
"See you hopefully soon!" she exclaimed, whom her name was Choi Sumi.
"I will."
Walking back to the car, I saw Jun-seok and Hyunjin both enjoying a milkshake. I looked back then stepped in. "You ordered through the drive-thru?"
They both nodded.
I actually wanted us to stop by because I thought I was hungry. My consciousness was slipping away slowly. This couldn't be the end, right? The genie said that if only I get into another accident, I would lose my life as Hia and Surin simultaneously.
"Are you okay?" Hyunjin asked. "You seem out of here."
I nodded my head, "I am good."
KANG JUN-SEOK VILLA
"Are you okay?"
I stopped in my tracks. Hyunjin and Jun-seok turned to me.
"Surin-"
My knees weakened, my consciousness finally drifting away and I saw black.

"Side effects of what?"
"Side effects of being in Hia's body. Her life is slowly slipping away."
The genie wasn't lying when he said I will suffer the consequences of losing my life.
"But what happened to Surin?"
"The aspiring model? That's...?"
"Yes. She is inside Hia's body. What happened to Surin?"
I was already well known?
"It got on the news. Lee Surin got into a tragic accident and well, nothing was shared after that."
"Guess we will have to find out from her."
I got out of the bed, opening the door to see all three faces looking at me.
"You are-"
"I heard everything," I said, folding my arms. "So don't bother pretending to be discreet."
"Your body is taking up a lot on both you and Hia," Jun-seok spoke, walking to me, taking a strand of hair behind my ear. "What happened?"
I tried pushing him away but he caressed my cheek. Jun-seok was being... too affectionate, I didn't really mind. Kim Hia was really lucky.
"I will tell you all about it."
We went into Jun-seok's office, and I stood in front of them while they all sat down to listen to my story.
"I am not Kim Hia. I took her body. Like the doctor said, I suffered a tragic accident, leaving me permanently paralyzed. Angered, wondering who would want to ruin my life like this, especially after securing the best deal with Northern Sky. So a genie appeared before me."
"A genie?" Hyunjin asked.
"It sounds weird but yes," I replied, continuing. "He offered me two options: Accept and live my new life as paralyzed, or..."
"Or what?" Jun-seok asked.
"Live a lie at the expense of my own life. So I took it."
"Why?"
The iconic question. Why? Of course, nothing happens 'just because'. It always has a reason. My choice to live a lie had a reason.
"I have to find out who did that to me. Who purposely hit into my car."
"You know that you were...?"
"Yes, that that person deliberately hit onto my car, yes I know. And I am going to make sure they pay."
I turned to the doctor. "My life's pretty messed up, right?"
"No."
He stood up, looking at me. "You are looking for retribution. You are trying to find the culprit."
"My life's wasting away doc," I said, forcing a smile on my lips, "I don't think I will get the culprit on time-"
"What if I told you..." the doctor spoke, turning to all of us.
"That we can turn back time?"
"Turn back time?"
"Yes... turn back time."

DAYS LATER – PARK SEUNO'S CONCERT
"Thank you all for attending the Moonlight concert! I love every one of you... especially a very important someone who attended tonight."
Park Seuno smiled at me as he spoke, and I returned the gesture. As Lee Surin, Park Seuno is very cute – I love him. Both in and out of the spotlight.
"Thank you," I signed to him, which he signed back, "You are welcome."
Just then, a sharp cut in my ear occurred; excrutiating pain that got me on my knees in seconds. I touched my right ear, blood coming out of my ear. Then, my throat, as if being strangled, I was unable to breathe.
"Hia!"
Someone took me into their arms. I looked up to see Jun-seok covering my ear my ear with his hand on top of mine. Hyunjin on his knees next to mine, checking my pulse. Then, minutes later, Park Seuno was right by my side, placing a hand on my forehead, then caressing my cheek. Tears ran down my face, feeling hopeless.
"Hia!" Jun-seok spoke, bringing me to reality – the pain and the eyes of the people watching us. I looked at each one of them: Jun-seok, the man who loves Kim Hia though he doesn't admit it. Hjunjin, the sly fox actor who cares for Kim Hia and isn't afraid to show it.
Park Seuno, the man who is pure like his name.
Is this how my lie of a life comes to an end?
