"We're here, sir," says Miguel, his driver. He gets out of the limo with Kennet's help and we enter the elegant restaurant, where a waiter takes us to our table, which Kennet had previously reserved.
The truth is, my stomach was in knots and I had absolutely no desire to do anything. I didn't think this was the ideal place to tell him I was pregnant, but what place would be the ideal place to tell your "lover" that you were pregnant with an unexpected, unplanned baby?
Nowhere was the best setting.
-Kennet- I called his attention- I have something to tell you.
"What's wrong, babe?" I asked as I looked at the letter.
-Well, I won't dwell on this any further because this has me very scared.
"What's wrong? You're worrying me," he said, adjusting himself more comfortably in his chair. He closed the letter and took my hand across the table. I sighed and braced myself for his reaction.
-Yesterday I took a pregnancy test and... it was positive.
-What? Again with the fucking joke, I already warned you once...
"This isn't a joke," I silenced him. "I shouldn't joke with you about a situation like this. I... had suspicions, but..."
Kennet immediately took me by the arm with a certain force in his grip and led me to the exit of the restaurant and let me go.
"Don't give me this, not now," he says, repeatedly running his hands through his hair.
-Do you want me to have an abortion?
"Well, it's the best idea you've ever had," he replied matter-of-factly, while I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"How dare you say that? He's not trash, he's a baby, a human, and I love him. Abortion isn't an option."
-I see- he said mockingly- I thought you weren't like the others who tried to get money from me and you're just like those women, you just want to hold on to me in some way and you couldn't think of a better idea than getting pregnant, of course you thought you'd make good money with a baby, you're smarter than I thought, you're really a slut- I hit her cheek with the palm of my hand furiously.
-I'm not going to let you keep talking about me like that.
-But you did it, the bad thing is that I'm not going to fall for your game, you told me you were taking the pill- he said while holding his injured cheek with his hand.
"And I did, but there's always that percentage of error. Don't try to put all the blame on me. I asked you to use a condom, and you didn't want to."
-You know what I think, that while you were with me you were messing around with other people, it shouldn't be any other way, but I have money and I'm just getting on the rise so you decided to throw it at me, you thought I was an idiot maybe- he shouted and I couldn't stop crying anymore. I had caught the attention of some people who looked at us curiously until one approached. I had already started to cry, I could no longer keep everything I was feeling inside but what hurt me the most was that I refused something that we had both helped create.
"Man, don't talk to the girl like that, you're already in a bad way," warned a man ready to intervene in the situation.
"Don't interfere," Kennet replied. "Well, then we'll finish this," he said, pointing at both of us.
"You don't know how glad I am to get away from a person like you. I never want to be near the monster you are again," I said angrily and quickly escaped from the place.
