Jessie (shocked): Caroline? What brings you here?

Caroline: What brings me here? That's a good question. I'm actually here for revenge.

Olivia: Revenge? What exactly are you talking about?

[Caroline approaches Sofie and stops in front of her.]

Caroline: I see you are taking my place for the sleepover that got interrupted hours ago.

Sofie (nervously): Do I know you? I don’t recognize you, stranger.

Caroline: Don’t act clueless, Sofie. You definitely know me, or at least, you know me as the one who took the boy you liked.

Sofie (shouting): SEE? I TOLD YOU ALL. SHE’S CONFIRMING WHAT I SAID TO YOU GIRLS.

Caroline: Admit? When did I say I took the boy you liked because I liked him too? You were the one who got jealous about our friendship.

Sofie (shouting): LIES! EVERYTHING YOU’RE SAYING IS A LIE. GIRLS, DON’T BELIEVE A WORD SHE SAYS.

Luna (shouting): SOFIE, PLEASE JUST BE QUIET FOR A CHANGE. I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE. IF YOU WOULD JUST BE QUIET, WE COULD LISTEN TO CAROLINE'S SIDE OF THE STORY.

Sofie (shouting): YOU KNOW WHAT? I WON'T BE QUIET! I'LL KEEP YELLING UNTIL THE PEOPLE ABOVE US LET US OUT.

Emma: If I were untied, I would slap you right now, Sofie.

Sofie: But you cannot.

[Caroline approaches Sofie and slaps her face. Jessie, Jenny, Emma, Olivia, Luna, and Stephanie gasped.]

Caroline: Do you want another slap? I can give you one that will leave a red mark on your face.

Sofie: No.

Caroline: Now, be quiet and let's return to the year 201X in a flashback, you selfish girl.

(Flashback 1)

[It was the year 201X. Jessie and her friends were gathered at the lockers in the school hallway, just like always, before lunch began.]

Luna: Have you seen that cute new boy in science class?

Jenny: Cute boy, where?

Luna: I was in science class with Caroline when a new cute boy walked in. He seemed really shy and didn't want to speak to anyone.

Jenny: Do you happen to have a picture of that cute boy?

[Emma takes out her phone and shows Luna and Jenny a picture of the cute boy.]  

Luna: Yes, that’s the cute boy, but Emma, why do you have a picture of him?

Emma: Oh, that’s because he’s my twin brother.

Jenny (shocked): Your brother?

Emma: Yeah. I forgot today was his first day here, so that’s why he looks shy and lost. Give him a week, and he'll get used to it.

Stephanie: By the way, where’s Caroline? 

Luna: I forgot to mention that before my science class ended, Caroline gave the new student a tour of the school. She told me we would all meet her here once she’s done.

Jessie: Isn’t that her?

[Luna turns around and sees Caroline with the new student walking towards this way where they were.]

Caroline: I’m back. Did I miss anything?

Jenny: Uh, yeah, you missed that this new student is Emma’s brother.

Caroline: Oh, that? He told me.

Eric (waves): Hello girls and Emma, my name is Eric, and I’m Emma's twin brother. Thanks to Caroline, I believe I have a better understanding of this school and everything it has to offer. It seems I will be hanging out with you all, if you don’t mind, until I find my own group of friends.

Jessie: You’re welcome to join us since your sister is a friend of mine and part of this group.

Eric: Thank you, and by the way, when does lunch start?

Jessie: Lunch begins in an hour, but don't worry; if one of us is in one of your classes, simply follow us so you don't get lost.

BELL RINGS

Olivia: That is the bell. See you all at lunchtime.

[Olivia, Luna, Jessie, and Emma went to their classes, leaving Stephanie, Caroline, and Eric behind. Stephanie asked Eric what his next class was, and he replied that it was geography. After looking at Eric's schedule, Stephanie informed him that he was in her class along with Caroline, which made Eric smile. The three of them walked together to geography class. Meanwhile, Sofie was still hiding behind her locker.]

Sofie (thought): So that's the new student all those losers were talking about? He’s quite cute, but how can I get close to him and make him mine? With my looks and his, we could be the most popular couple.

Caroline: This is wonderful, Eric. You can join us here since there's an empty seat.

Stephanie: Why did I never see that third chair?

Caroline: It's because you always place your backpack in that chair when you come to class.

Stephanie: Oh, my bad.

[Geography class begins, and each group is working on their assignments. Eric gets up to sharpen his pencil and locks eyes with Sofie. He returns to his spot feeling uneasy.]

Eric (whispers): Hello, I didn't quite catch your name.

Stephanie (whispers): I’m Stephanie.

Eric (whispers): Alright, Stephanie, who is that girl that kept looking at me? We made eye contact when I went to sharpen my pencil.

[Stephanie turns around and warns Eric to stay away from her. Stephanie informs Eric that her name is Sofie and that she’s not a good person. Eric wonders why, and Stephanie advises him to wait till lunch.]

Caroline (whispers): Hey, have you finished the assignment? The teacher said that whoever is done, the group leader needs to submit it, and then we can have free time.

Eric (whispers): Yes, I'm finished. 

Stephanie (whispers): Me too.

[Caroline takes their assignments, gets out of her seat, and takes them to the teacher's desk, where the teacher places them in a folder and locks it in the cabinets. Each group leader begins performing the same thing until the bell rings. The bell sounds, and everyone heads for lunch. Stephanie and Caroline are getting their backpacks; Sofie approaches and greets them but only pays attention to Eric.]

Sofie: You must be a new student. I'm Sofie, and you're...

Caroline: He’s not your concern, so just leave us alone, Sofie.

Sofie: I’m not speaking to you; I just wanted to know his name. Why do you have to interfere?

Stephanie: Caroline can involve herself in anything concerning her friends, but someone as self-absorbed as you won’t take a hint.

[Caroline and Stephanie pull Eric out of the classroom and head to the cafeteria to join their group. Meanwhile, leaving Sofie behind, Sofie became enraged with Caroline for interfering with her business and sabotaging her chances to get to know the new student. The three of them reach the group and sit down. The girls took turns introducing themselves to Eric. Eric asks why Sofie is such a bad person, and each girl shares what they know about her and why it’s wise to avoid her.]
