The smell of old books and wood filled Eunji’s nose as she sat by the bay window in the private pack library. It had been a week since Eunji entered the mansion and quickly realized she couldn’t listen to music like she used to. 

Her new ears could hear every flaw from recorded music and it drove her crazy. Maria did tell her it took training to not hear it and it took her some time to learn how to do it. 

Since she couldn’t listen to music, Eunji figured she could catch up with her next hobby, reading, and Rose directed her to the pack’s library. It had almost become her second bedroom and kind of felt like a kid in a candy store.

The pack library had books that Eunji never thought she would get her hands on in her wildest dream. Some of them were first print copies and others never had wide spread print out. Though Eunji would love to read them now, she was told to wait a year until she got hold of her new strength and she couldn’t argue with that logic.

It did make her feel a little frustrated until she crushed a door handle to her bathroom on her fourth day at the mansion. Eunji stuck with the books that were newer or could get replacements easier if she accidently destroyed them.

‘Food, hunt.’ Starlight’s voice rang in Eunji’s ear and made Eunji wince and rub her ear. Starlight was getting louder and made Eunji nervous but Rose explained it was because the full moon was getting closer. 

Eunji’s stomach growled loudly and was about to get up but stopped as she saw an old beat up faded blue truck drive up to the mansion. Eunji was shown all the vehicles the main pack owned and none of them drove an old beat up truck like that.

The truck parked in front of the mansion and Alina got out of the passenger side. Eunji couldn’t mistake it for anyone but Alina due to her scarlet mess of hair. Alina went around the front of the truck to the driver side and Eunji couldn’t see the driver at the angle she was at.

Seconds of standing there Alina turned around and headed inside the mansion. The driver side door opened and Eunji sat up to get a better look while leaning on the window.

It was a fairly large native american woman that got out of the truck and Eunji could guess she was at least taller than Rose. She had short bluish black hair and her skin rich earthy red. 

Eunji had seen the native americans from the reserve but none of them had this woman’s skin tone. The native americans from the reserve skin tone were brighter red and none of them got that tall.

She leaned on the window more and froze when the native american woman's head snapped up to the window. The movement did make her flinch but it was the woman's bright icy cyan eyes that made Eunji freeze in place. 

Starlight whined quietly and Eunji ignored her, thinking she was just annoyed she wasn’t getting food right now. Eunji stayed still until something else caught the woman’s attention and Eunji could see Rose walking out.

With Rose in front of the native american woman, Eunji figured she was at least six feet and seven inches tall and Rose cupped the woman’s face. The native american face kept stone face as Rose spoke and once Rose let go of her face, the woman glanced up.

She finally spoke and Eunji tried to read her lips as she spoke. ‘Didn’t…shouldn’t…lean…window…’ Was the only words she could read and lean more on the down before hearing some unhooking.

Eunji felt a rush of air and the invisible barrier that was the window was gone. She panicked as felt herself fall out of the opened window and didn’t have time to grab something as her torso was falling down first. 

‘Twist.’ Starlight’s voice hissed and Eunji’s body moved on its own before Eunji could think of it. Before she knew it she twisted into a ball to roll land and she stumbled when rolling back to her feet, into something hard.

“Eight point landing, points taken off for falling out the window and stumbling on the landing.” Rose’s voice called out as Eunji was trying to slow down her breathing and heart stopped beating so fast. “What do you think, Luna?”

Eunji froze as the scent of what she stumbled into and slowly looked up to the native american woman. Starlight was screaming to run and Eunji turned pale before rushing to hide behind Rose.

Eunji could hear Rose giggling and Eunji peered around her to see Luna, who was still stone-faced and unmoving. She could feel a strong power radiating off Luna and it was a lot different than Juno’s power, far more dangerous and ready to explode into action.

Luna only snorted before walking back to her truck and got back into the driver seat. In seconds Alina came out of the front door and glanced over to see them. Eunji did see a flash of confusion on Alina’s face before throwing it to the side and rushed to the passenger side of the truck.

Eunji saw Alina’s smile brighten more when she got in the truck and Luna’s shoulder relaxed before starting up the old truck. It started with easy and surprising moves smoothly as they started to drive off. 

“I know that woman could easily buy a new truck but she still drives that old thing.” Rose sighed as the truck left the mansion grounds and she turned to Eunji. “You had a better reaction than I thought you would to Luna.”

“Wh-What happened?” Eunji could only muster as tried to slow her heart and gripped her sweater. “I couldn’t breath and Starlight was screaming to run and hide.”

“Luna Dreamwalker, the monster that other monsters have nightmares about.” Rose explained with a coy smirk slide onto her face. “Also she’s Alina's loving and devoted wife and only Adlet for miles.”

Eunji finally got her heart to slow back down and looked up to the window to see it open. “Why did that window open up?” Eunji asked and Rose petted her head gently.

“That’s my mistake, I forgot to mention not to lean on the bay window.” Rose said while rubbing the side of her jaw. “Even though we try to fix it, it keeps opening up if you lean too hard on it.” 

Eunji paused before realizing what Luna must have said to Rose about and she let out a loud sigh as Starlight was back to whining about food. ‘Shut up.’ Eunji thought and rubbed her temple.

“Is there some food leftover from breakfast?” Eunji asked and her stomach growled louder. Rose blinked before smiling and pinched Eunji’s cheek playfully.

“Lucky you, I just made something up for lunch.” Rose giggled and Eunji relaxed from Rose’s sweet smile. “After we eat, we are going have a small surprise trip~”

Eunji was looking out the window while she sat in the back seat of Rose’s suv and trying not to listen to Maria yelling out the passenger window. Rose was calmly driving with one hand on the wheel and the other hand was holding onto Maria’s pants, preventing her falling out of the suv.

“So where are we going again, Rose?” Eunji asked and Rose glanced back at her. She gave Eunji a small coy smile and Eunji sighed as that meant it was meant to be a surprise.

Maria slipped back into the suv, “Don’t worry, pup, you're going love this surprise.” Maria said and Eunji didn’t answer as Rose got cut off once again. That caused Maria to once again start yelling out the window and Rose, without looking, grabbed her pants once more.

Eunji slid down in her seat and rubbed her temple from all the noise from the city at high noon, “Starlight again?” Rose asked and Eunji shook her head. “There are earmuffs under the passenger seat if it's too noisy outside for your new ears.”

She looked under the seat and found black hard case with a handle. Eunji opened to see bright orange headphones and it looked like her DJ headphones. On the speaker cover had a wolf logo and she had never seen it before.

“Speically made by Lycan owned company,” Rose said and tugged on Maria’s pants. “Put them on and see.” Eunji put on the headphones and she couldn’t hear anything, besides her own breathing and heart beat. 

Eunji paused before closing her eyes and drifted into a mindscape. She glanced around the lake side and spotted Starlight just lying under the same oak tree as before. Eunji waited for her to speak but she just moved her tail over her head.
